These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

Good idea to start with FAQ!!

I'm sure there will still be plenty of duplicate questions though

Nicola Bulley police urged to search part of river where teen vanished 45 years ago
A local river expert says there are some parts of the stretch of river that are not accessible by boat - and would have to be searched on foot.

I keep seeing mention of a red car or van, have the police sai anything definitive about that?

No
It's been reported in a few red top papers but the story is from a woman who's told a journalist that she reported this van twice. The police haven't said they are searching for anyone.

Oh damn, my post made the thread hit 1k so I'm going to repeat it here:

What I don't understand is the police seeming to rule out a third party so early on. I understand they said there's no footage showing Nicola left the river area, therefore they're hypothesising she is in the water, but why presume she went into the water herself, or by accident? How do they know a third party didn't put her in the water, if indeed she was ever in the river?

I've never heard police stick to one theory so rigidly in a case like this - we normally hear 'keeping an open mind' throughout investigations, and even though SR said that phrase in the most recent conference, every media announcement prior to that weighted heavily on no foul play. I don't understand that at all, and only hope that they do have information/evidence which leads them to believe somehow NB went into the water herself and we aren't witnessing the biggest police balls-up in recent history - and if they do have evidence/info they should be sharing it with her family, which I presume they haven't as the family don't seem to believe the water theory either.

2 weeks on and still sticking to their 'hypothesis' without any evidence at all seems bizarre.

I haven’t read all the previous threads. One thing I wondered was about the dog. Say if someone did take her away at knifepoint, could the person have thrown something really delicious to the dog to distract it? So that it wouldn’t make a huge fuss at the moment of her being abducted?

I’m not a dog owner though so I don’t know if that sounds ridiculous. I know they are very loyal so perhaps that wouldn’t have worked… just baffling as to how the dog was dry and she’s just gone!

Sorry if this has already been discussed or mentioned.

I'm sure some dogs would yes.
Quite a few dog owners have said that their dogs could easily be distracted.

I'm not anti anyone but it's just common sense to question why one maverick is going against the whole investigation and seemingly against easily searchable facts such as how many drowning victims are found and after how long.

Have they managed to retrieve the data from her Fitbit yet?

The dog would probably stay put if Nicola had given the instruction which, if she was told the dog would be killed otherwise, she probably would have complied with.

I've read on Facebook that the tik tok fool who got the dispersal order yesterday is planning going back again tonight. The police have been informed apparently.

This might sound dumb, but if she sadly did enter/fall in the water - is it a given the dog would've followed ? I mean is there a chance a dog wouldn't go in too?

Loads of people have said that their dog definitely wouldn't go in.
Not sure about Nicola's though because he loved a swim looking at the photos.

It's been repeatedly said that it was not sync'ed after the Tuesday before she went missing.

If they have it, then she wasn't wearing it on the day she disappeared, and can't have anything relevant n it. They have not said that anything of hers has been found anywhere (other than the phone, dog, lead and harness)

davegrohll · 09/02/2023 19:49

@Oaktree55 to be honest he isn't the only person going against what the police are saying is he ! Most of the internet thinks it's all abit dodgy

It depends on the dog I think. My dog wouldn't be distracted, she's not that fussed by treats - but my DDs dog is massively food orientated and 100% would be focussed on the food.

Towntroubadour · 09/02/2023 19:50

I’ve just seen on the news how people are going to the bench where they think Nikki might have fallen in and are taking selfies. How grim!

The police also seem to be searching the sea now. Her poor family.

davegrohll · 09/02/2023 19:50

@ofwarren thanks. Was just thinking because I don't think my moms dog would go in !! But who knows in that moment !

There has to be - the dog was dry.

Though I have to say that's as aspect I find odd. Because unless you have a water hating dog (and she didn't - there are pix of the dog playing in water) then I would expect a dog to think owner in water is a great game and go plungining in to join in

Activelyannoyed · 09/02/2023 19:52

I’m worried we will all stop talking about it, and the police will fade their way off it, and she will never be found.
