These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

To the extent that they search a river for 14 days flying in the face of expert advice?

That goes way beyond a mistake unless, as already said many times, they know something so indisputable that they are justified in their actions

That’s nothing the police in the Rachel Nickell case did a honey trap with an officer posing as a date of Colin Nickell to get him to confess!

The police do have expert advice from all the search and rescue bodies in the area - fire service, RNLI etc.

melonraspberry · 10/02/2023 21:37

They will have searched the house. My dickhead ex went missing to scare me and the first thing the police did was search the house . Not as in turning things upside down but they had a good look.

Yes, hasn't really told us anything we don't already know so far... interesting how they're asking people to call 999 for sightings of Nicola, I wonder is the poster who thought they saw her still following the thread?

The information on timings is interesting.

Looking at a quote from him from the show He added: “Personally, I am 100% convinced it’s not the river, that’s my opinion.” "It's"??? That would set alarm bells ringing if I were the police....

I took it to mean; The answer/place NB is - 'it's' not the river!

justgettingthroughtheday · 10/02/2023 21:39

Having just watched the video of the river I just cannot see how she has drowned and been carried away. The water beyond the weir is very shallow. So shallow the police dinghy got grounded.

MadAndGlad · 10/02/2023 21:39

I've just got this feeling, I really hope I'm wrong but I've said it before and I'll say it again. They need to look closer to home.

Isbemorelikemeandbelesslikeyou · 10/02/2023 21:40

@MadAndGlad In what way?

Agreed- but poor Rachel was found and clearly murdered. They just tried to frame the local weirdo.

There is nothing to go on here

Is it odd that he decided to go and look for her at half 10? I could be out for hours before DH would think to ring me. He'd just presume I'd gone shopping!

MeinKraft · 10/02/2023 21:42

And yes the river is very low.

He's not convinced because to be convinced would mean he had to accept that his partner of 12 years was dead. Who can accept that easily without wanting more action?

I don’t think he thinks she’s not dead I think he thinks that she’s not in the river ergo the only way to find out what happened to her is to change course. I think it’s about closure than about any hope she would be found alive.

yukkamumma · 10/02/2023 21:43

He said "it's not the river" not "it's not in the river"

In light of being told about the phone being found and dog being loose I think I'd be concerned.

MeinKraft · 10/02/2023 21:44

@Mirabai he does seem very resigned

isn't this the first time we are hearing about any of his movements on the morning?

They seem very close though. The morning routine and helping each other the way he described .

MeinKraft · 10/02/2023 21:44

@Kerfuffler he said he was putting his clothes on to go and find her before he got the call

And leave your phone and dog on a river bank ?

melonraspberry · 10/02/2023 21:45

As in they maybe communicate all the time during the day

DH and I discussed that. Neither of us would look for each other so quickly. We would just assume not answering phone/got chatting/went shopping etc. I thought it was strange. But he is clearly a man who is very stressed and very distressed. It feels hard to watch, and quite intrusive.

MadAndGlad · 10/02/2023 21:45

I can't explain. Just seems premeditated to me. Yes it could be someone who's been following her but the dog staying by the bench is bugging me. It's like the dog knew the abducter.

He doesn't necessarily think she's alive, only that she's not in the river.

TokyoSushi · 10/02/2023 21:46

There is something not right here. It just doesn't add up. Where on earth is she???

I agree. He looks broken.
