These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

They don't have any thing to start a crime investigation. They have to do every thing by the book. And the family has to listen to them or it will just get scaled back. Maybe he will try another route later.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 19:00

The only thing the police can do is wait for any mistakes to be made , and search the water.

Third party I think means external to the family.

It's not the family per se, it's all of us.

Nicola is first person

The police, witnesses, family, general public, media are second party. It's the collective 'we' we had no involvement, we don't know what happened. We don't know where she is.

Third party is the person (or persons) unknown. It's the person outside of 'us'. It's the person between Nicola and the collective 'we' that is preventing 'us' from finding her.

I can't help thinking of something a consultant said to me when I was diagnosed with a very uncommon illness. When we hear galloping hooves, we immediately think "horses " , but, sometimes, it's zebras.

Goldpaw · 10/02/2023 19:18

And the family has to listen to them

Not if they believe the police are wrong. Yes the police get it right, but they also get it very wrong, and in those instances it's only been down to continued pressure from families and others that has made them look again.

60smusic · 10/02/2023 19:21

That poor man... The programme hasn't even aired yet and they're ripping him apart everywhere. There are many, many unhinged people in this world.

Llovecookies · 10/02/2023 19:29

I just think people are picking up that he his shaking his head during the interview. Which is probably be an innocent reaction to events but can cause body language experts doubt. Poor chap looked distraught.

"They will have gone to the family and sold it to them on the basis that they, channel5, and that odious dan Wooten at that, will tell their side of the story, to raise awareness."

It's not the extremely odious Dan Wooten. It's the non-odious Dan Walker.

So he desperately wants the land searched and the public have now well and truly trampled over any evidence.…

Jesus wept.

Because the police let them tbh

He has a point, the police have blinkers on for some reason or other.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 19:50

Maybe they know she is on medication, and don't see any signs of an attack. So assume she has fallen in the river. I just don't know how she could not be found in shallow water.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 19:52

Maybe she swam into deeper water confused.

I agree with this. But it's Dan Walker not Dan Wootton. I'm surprised he's getting involved with this. I thought better of him.

Totally agree with all this.
I also think the police know far more than they're letting on.

I think so.

Nicola may have kept a diary, been on medication or recently had the results of a smear or breast examination, anything that could make the police think she was not herself that day.

They would not be making any of that public.

@ofwarren - I've read the threads but not seen anone comment on this point. The towpath that is shown as a red and white dotted line on most of the newspaper maps seems to be a long way from the river as it loops around between the bench and the weir. What exactly is by the towpath at that point? It looks like trees or something.

kirinm · 10/02/2023 20:14

@Tamarindtree if that was the case - and I'm not suggesting suicide isn't possible - wouldn't the family have been told?

I'm such a pedant that it really frustrates me when people call it a towpath.

ItsaStupidSillyThing · 10/02/2023 20:18

The shabby red van shouldn't be in the media, if it does have anything to do with Nicola's disappearance that is going to spook the perpetrator/risk the whole investigation. The police could be suspecting anything behind the scenes and won't make it public information for a reason. I agree with a pp that the police know alot more than letting on.

Have you seen this map? You enter the tow path next to the bridge and to your left is Wyresdale land and to your right is a scrubby bit of land behind a fence and trees.
I shared a video of it on the last post. I'll try and find it again.

Here you go.
This video shows him entering at the bridge and walking down to the bench

THank you - I just wondered if it was by another stretch of water as it was called a towpath and someone yesterday mentioned a canal.... Pure speculation but might someone be able to hide amongst the trees and later put Nicola in the water beyond the weir as it seems that path comes out after the weir

There is a canal, but it's not that close really.

Thank you - quite a chilling video in current circumstances and shows how easy it would be for someone to come up behind her if she was sat on the bench.
