These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

Yes

Oh I hadn’t read that.

To the extent that they search a river for 14 days flying in the face of expert advice?

That goes way beyond a mistake unless, as already said many times, they know something so indisputable that they are justified in their actions

The police's own experts have more knowledge of the situation.

'Expert' man is a contractor to the police in a different area. That's all. The area and roles that he covers is less than that covered by the police unit on the job.

urbanbuddha · 10/02/2023 21:16

If he was talking about fishing bait attracting the dog what did he mean by that, did they think someone had jumped in, and if not why not at least call 101?

Yes, I’m puzzled by the fishing bait too. Whose fishing bait was it? Does fishing bait normally get left at the riverside? Had there been a fisherman there, at that time of day?

Which begs the question why isn't PA in the slightest bit convinced? They wouldnt withold from him?
They surely would not want this media circus to keep gathering momentum?

We don't know anybody ever said it. It was a newspaper report I'm the Mirror, quoting an 'anonymous friend' commenting on something she'd heard.

The police don't announce all the evidence they've got though. They'll have looked into this third-hand story and unravelled who said what to who, who knows what, and who was where, when. It's not NORMAL or desirable to keep the public informed of everything they know.

He's not convinced because to be convinced would mean he had to accept that his partner of 12 years was dead. Who can accept that easily without wanting more action?

Of course not but they would keep the childrens father informed.

His interview suggests nothing of the sort

They'd keep him informed as much as they need to.

Isbemorelikemeandbelesslikeyou · 10/02/2023 21:26

Following. Is there a thread about the Channel 5 programme?

I cant believe they wouldnt be fully transparent with him if they arent treating as a criminal investigation.

confounded234 · 10/02/2023 21:30

Looking at a quote from him from the show He added: “Personally, I am 100% convinced it’s not the river, that’s my opinion.” "It's"??? That would set alarm bells ringing if I were the police....

Although maybe he means the river is not where she is....Maybe I am reading too much into this. I am tired... :-(

Are the police allowed to share certain information with her partner?

Say Nicola has a diary and expressed her private thoughts perhaps about a health scare that she hadn’t told her partner about yet.

Or they found mental health medication she had hidden in her make up bag that she hadn’t told him about?

Or what if she had been having an affair?

I’m not casting aspersions I’m just saying that if she had some deeply personal things in her life that her partner wasn’t aware of, would the police tell him?

Whatever is going on they have not shared their reason with him for why they are so convinced she is in the water. Which seems very odd to me in a missing person case.

Really?

I'm not talking about this case but imagine they had not enough evidence to open a case as a murder enquiry, not enough evidence to confirm a man as a suspect, but not enough evidence to fully clear a man either. Would you expect them to be fully transparent with the man?

melonraspberry · 10/02/2023 21:34

@confounded234 the question might have been ‘where’s the answer? ‘ and he said ‘it’s not in the river’.

Isbemorelikemeandbelesslikeyou · 10/02/2023 21:35

@confounded234 Who said that and what do you think they meant by ‘It’s?’

VariantHela · 10/02/2023 21:35

Yes I'm watching ch 5. I am not passing judgement just yet, but I have some thoughts.

|ve not heard any report they have searched her house? Im not disagreeing, just not heard that they have? You usually get a media hack taking images of it happening

Yes, hasn't really told us anything we don't already know so far... interesting how they're asking people to call 999 for sightings of Nicola, I wonder is the poster who thought they saw her still following the thread?

Fully agree- what reason would they have to withold that from him?
