These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

Anyone who thinks this documentary is a positive thing is naive.

The media are practically salivating over this case. They will have gone to the family and sold it to them on the basis that they, channel5, and that odious dan Wooten at that, will tell their side of the story, to raise awareness. Etc etc etc, and meanwhile Channel5 will be rubbing their hands together that they have the exclusive.

This is the kind of documentary you’d expect a few years down the line, where people might ask what could have happened etc. It’s pure entertainment, and the family are being used as the puppets.

I don't know...the media interest is literally the only tool the family have at their disposal, so they're willing to use it. I would too if I thought it would help.

MeinKraft · 10/02/2023 18:37

@confounded234 he was working from home wasn't he, he'll have emails in his sent box and things to prove that I'm sure.

Assumption has led this investigation from the start.

Someone mentioned Corrie McKeague and I went to have a read about the case.

The police said then that, "Although it is a missing persons inquiry, we have given it the same resources as a major investigation. We have not ruled out any possibility."

They seemed to have made assumptions that hampered them, then cost them a lot of money when they did finally start a search of the landfill.

How does that prove working from home?
Not that I think he has anything to prove. I feel desperately sorry for him.

It’s odd though that given the appalling “speculation” around PA that they haven’t moved to stamp it out by putting him in the clear. However , I think that is down to the appalling comms from the police and an inwardly focused investigation

Catstaps · 10/02/2023 18:42

The husband is clearly angry the police have been terrible, I’m angry too..they have fouled this up. A woman walking in a rural area goes missing leaving her dog and phone and they virtually rule out a crime, I’ve never heard such absolute rubbish.

They have home cctv. He’s probably on it, same as Nicola was, leaving the house at around the time he found out she was missing.

CCTV placed him at home if I remember rightly from early on.

They'd be able to tell if emails were sent from his laptop/computer at home vs his mobile and the location at the time. Also from CCTV footage at home.

He may have been on video conference calls and a whole host of other evidence to show he was doing something else during that time window. I'd imagine his whereabouts and alibi were the first to be checked out to rule him out.

MyGiGiBoo · 10/02/2023 18:43

And he may have been on a Teams call / video call himself.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 18:43

If any third party was involved whats to say they wouldn't try and send a message or some thing for attention. Some times tv stuff helps to draw them out .

Put like that, it does sound nonsensical.

Crumpetdisappointment · 10/02/2023 18:45

hsuband will have family liaison officer to watch his reaction - no TV programme needed, or do we want to bring back Cracker?

Catstaps · 10/02/2023 18:46

the partner is innocent..he has a clear alibi and look at him and listen to him.. no way is he involved. Someone out there is going to get away with this and it’s bloody police incompetence.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 18:46

Any one actually read that book from the profiler guy

What do you mean? Send a message to who?

Crumpetdisappointment · 10/02/2023 18:50

i expect the family and police are getting hundreds of messages from crackpots

They have the very same home CCTV which showed Nicola setting off, no need for emails.

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 18:52

Where they send some message or item they recognize to the police or ppl involved. But enough of this stuff

I was just thinking that. It must be the worst ever. They'll be struggling just dealing with that.

MaggieFS · 10/02/2023 18:53

(Sorry, app hadn't reloaded properly when I mentioned the CCTV, I see now it's been mentioned already)

dawngreen · 10/02/2023 18:55

Well I think Paul is trying to keep strong in all this.

confounded234 · 10/02/2023 18:56

I’m still struggling to comprehend the “nothing untoward has happened “ statement from the police. I’ve seen some shit comms in my time but ffs, that’s really bad
