How much more appealing can they realistically do. What a waste of time with their boy

whynotwhatknot · 05/08/2022 11:45

is there no way the high court cant stop0 the appeals go9ing ahead-otherwise this is dragging on for yet another week possibly which is what she wants

@OneFrenchEgg alright love

SkygardenTower · 05/08/2022 11:47

She has not been given a right to appeal but can do so directly, but the hospital are saying that has to be today. The layers are saying that is too quick.

I do still have sympathy, once the fight stops she will be floored and empty.

Quia · 05/08/2022 11:48

Given that the judge has written her judgment, I would hope that the Court of Appeal can deal with this very quickly. Essentially the only issue is whether it is in Archie's best interests to stay where he is and be allowed to go peacefully, or take the 99% risk of sudden cardiac failure in a corridor or, God forbid, whilst passing through PICU in full sight and hearing of other children and relatives.

HappyHamsters · 05/08/2022 11:49

He can have a dignified death in hospital, they have not denied him a dignified death and some of the media reports are misleading. No surprise there though. Poor little boy, please lets hope hooe she doesnt just delay the inevitable with even more pointless appeals which she wont win.

GirlInACountrySong · 05/08/2022 11:49

The circus continues! Will she appeal?

Or will she realise Archie is going and she needs to be there?

whynotwhatknot · 05/08/2022 11:49

theyve got till 1p;m to appeal apprently

You would think so but apparently not
I understand there needs to be an avenue of appeal when disagreements occur.

But this case has shown up the UK legal system to be an absolutely ridiculous waste of time and money.
I hope some change is brought about in light of this.

Re Kiwi Farms, i had a quick look the other day to see what was being alluded to in some posts on these threads.

How do they get hold of the screenshots etc of, for instance, Hollies text conversations with her elder son?

There's just so much private info on there, it's quite concerning.

I think she'll appeal. Unwise as that is.

whynotwhatknot · 05/08/2022 11:52

because she posted them years ago on her own page

Quia · 05/08/2022 11:52

drinkingwineoutofamug · 05/08/2022 11:42

This circus needs to stop.
Archie would be horrified if he knew his mum had put pictures of him on the internet for the world to see.
How is that dignified?

I also think the press have misled the public. They are printing that he is in a coma. Surely these journalists have the same access to court documents? Or would that loose them the clicks?

His mum, I'm starting to loose sympathy with as she's putting her own needs before her sons. I'm sorry for the family, it's heartbreaking. But there comes a time that you have to face facts.

To be fair, the last Court of Appeal judgment described him as being in a coma, presumably because they can't say he is brain dead.

musicandpassion · 05/08/2022 11:53

How on earth can she justify another appeal? She's being told no at every turn. There comes a time when you just have to stop and look around. It's becoming more and more apparent that it isn't about Archie, it's about her wanting to "win" against the hospital. There is no winning in this. I've lost all sympathy for her and I'd imagine I'm not the only one.

Brefugee · 05/08/2022 11:53

I think digging into his parents' past (let's face it: his mother's past) is an attempt to paint her in a bad light (unfortunately it seems to be doing it's job there). It is absolutely shitty and unacceptable, because it's dragging us back to the acceptable and unacceptable victims that we see so often in other cases (rape etc)

Right now there is a grieving family clutching at any and every straw, and there are enablers who should be taking a good long look at themselves and their methods (yes, CLC I'm talking about you). If they have to latch onto and manipulate cases like this in order to take them to their end goal (whatever that is, although i think we know) then they know they are in the wrong. For this i am deeply sympathetic to the parents because they really will clutch at any straw to "save" their child. They seem to honestly believe that anyone not supporting them is out to murder or execute their child.

The NHS isn't an infallible monolith. But there are no indications anywhere that I've read that the people involved here are doing anything other than the best actions in the interest of their patient.

I'm not sure about the Go Fund Me. I'm sure there must be some related costs but I just don't know about the wisdom of starting these fundraisers before everything is done and dusted. It seems distasteful and disrespectful. Am aware that other people have other opinions about this.

The one good thing that comes out of these things is that people realise how seldom it is that parents/NOK react in this way. The bad thing of course will be if organ donation really takes a hit because of it.

Rainbowsatlast · 05/08/2022 11:53

This is just so desperately sad. That poor boy. If the appeal is rejected (which I imagine it will be), is there anywhere else she can go from there? Or will it all finally come to an end?

Early on in this, her Facebook was wide open and those posts were visible to everyone. Someone obviously decided to screen grab them before it was locked down.

Wheresthebeach · 05/08/2022 11:53

At some point the terrible waste of money, for an overstretched NHS needs discussing. How many have missed out on an ICU bed? How many won't get treatment due to the money spent on this. Other people do matter, and this has gone way too far.

loislovesstewie · 05/08/2022 11:54

The best now is for a friend of the mother to tell her that the time has come to say goodbye; not any 'army' not others who have their own agenda, but a real friend. This is what she has needed all along , someone to talk some compassionate sense into her. Sadly, I think such a person is lacking in her life, and I say that with kindness.

It really hasn't shown that. We absolutely must have a full appeal system if we are to have any faith in the court system at all, because no-one can seriously claim that every judge is infallible. If there was no right of appeal, some horrendous miscarriages of justice would never have come to light.

She simply won't listen to sense. Anyone who tries to talk to her like that will be 'against her'.
