Child of our time Parys Lapper RIP

I've just read that Alison Lapper' son Parys died last week. I didn't know either Alison or Parys but loved watching the t.v. prog and respected Alison for her determination to do things that others may have thought weren't possible.

He was only 19 and it simply seems far too young to go. I hope she has some great friends to support her x

I remember seeing them in a Child of this Time, I was inspired by Alison's positive mindset, nothing was impossible. So sad, far to young to go.

Oh how sad! Such a young man. I remember watching him as a young child helping his mum out with various tasks on the show and thought how fabulous their bond was. His mum was an absolute inspiration.

Oh no, I'm so very sorry to hear this. I watched from the start and always thought she was raising a delightful, sensitive and caring son. I'm really shocked, all my thoughts with Alison xxx.

He did seem like a lovely caring boy on the tv prog and the bond between him and his mum was amazing as joxer said. He appeared to be v well rounded.

I'm so sorry for Alison, losing her lovely boy. OK, so he wasn't a boy, any more, but he was still her boy.

Oh how awful, poor Alison, it's not my business to know what happened but I hope she's getting all of the support she needs (and that this tragedy won't be featured on any future programme). He looked to be a lovely, well-rounded and supportive son. I'm so sorry.

I heard about Parys death a few days ago and the local community are asking for bikers to accompany Parys on his final journey. His death is so tragic and must be incomprehensible to Ali ...can we all send our love and prayers to this amazing lady !! X

I'm so incredibly sad to hear this news - I watched Child of our Time, and much admired Alison for overcoming such adversity. My DS is just a little bit younger than Parys. Sad So very sorry Sad

Incredibly sad. I've been watching Child of Our Time since the start and remember how brilliant Alison and Parys' relationship was. Life hasn't even started at 19.
