Can I ask a question

on the last thread, someone made mention to some walls being knocked down. Was that speculation again, or was there truth in it - do we/you know?

Just read this from the telegraph about a hidden basement and other hidden areas within the villa. hopefully the police have now re-searched

good idea mrs spoon. can someone update me please on what is happening. my kids have nick junior on until 8 o'clock so can't watch the news.

something was mentioned about a russian man. can someone update me please.

on sky martin brunt said he was outside the flat beloning to the russian who turned up an hour later with plain clothes detectives , area cordoned off and police outside but it was on a telephone interview - no filming?

The Russian man is a computer engineer who set up Murat's website and his computer systems. Mentioned in Portuguese press earlier that he was being investigated following the Murat enquiries - police following up all Murat's business associates. His flat in the village is now being searched and he is talking to police.

Sorry, also meant to mention that Sky (yes sorry, pinch of salt, etc)made a relatively restrained report earlier and said that it wasn't necessarily significant as numerous properties have been searched but if it's one near where the journalists are camped out then it does tend to receive more attention.

listening to news earlier, all the reporters ran off to home/house near church which was being searched?, any news on this?, was it the computoer/russian man?, think he actually gave a charichter ef on news earlier as i was wondering on accent and recognised name??
heard from builder of murat villa on news that there was a void under living room, that was buiklt with no entrance but didnt know if there was one now?, very odd thing to say?, anyway is this the wall thats been knocked down?

watching bits here and there today and very sad that murats face and specualtion are splashed all over, have all news channels forgot the reason for all this, there is still a little girl missing, we dont care if the prime suspect has a glass eye, we want to know what eviddence they have agiasnt him, why they decided to set up survelance of him before anyone else mentioned it? and was very pleased to hear that police had 'pretended' to drop two men and woman theory i the hope of catching him out, when actually this theory was still in their mind..i think they are doing lots more than we know about and it obv has to stay that way to catch the bastards!

Before this gets going again could certain posters please, please stop banging on and on like some kind of broken record on about the McCanns being Middle class, white, professionals and this being the reasoning behind this case getting media coverage (which is complete and utter rubbish; please cast your mind to James Bulger, Damilola Taylor, Ben Needham. Also the circumstances of this case are so rare it would have attracted attention regardless of the occupation of the parent ffs) I am just so sick of reading it over and over when I am checking for updates, I think the point has been made can you just leave it? Same goes for the inane comments as to if you would or would not leave your kids alone. Maybe we can do a whole thread without pointless negativity.

Like:

1. wall knocked down in Murats home (the home of his mother)
2. Russian chap being interviewed
3. other two people who were interviewed def. not suspects.

I did hear that they had knocked down internal walls, drained the pool and searched a pit of some sort under the pool.

OK, just read Telegraph piece. I have another question. If the villa (his home) has a false floor, and for arguments sake, Madeleine had been hidden there for a time (maybe) - how come the sniffer dogs didnt pick it up? Just a thought.

I heard on the news last night that the dogs got very excited at the villa, as though they had picked up something.

Also, I think it was at the press conference, the police man said he wasn't saying there was no evidence, just that there wasn't enough....

This message was started this morning by Phil McCann, Madeleine's uncle. 3-year old Madeleine was abducted whilst on holiday in Portugal 13 days ago.

Please pass on if you can, (and translate it if necessary).

As you are aware my niece is still missing and I am asking everyone I know to send this as a chain letter i.e. you send it to everyone you know and ask them to do the same, as the story is only being covered in Britain, Eire and Portugal.

We don't believe that she is in Portugal anymore and need to get her picture and the story across Europe as quickly as possible. Suggestions are welcome.
