'And he gave he poor wee orphan guinea pig a home. On the top of his head.' Grin

originalmavis, you are on top form today, with Ronald McDonald and this.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 10/08/2016 14:54

Original, I have actual tears in my eyes that made me laugh so much!

originalmavis · 10/08/2016 14:54

No, just slightly hungover and a bit bored. And it's tipping down here...

Roussette · 10/08/2016 14:55

Oh, he doesn't mean it! Hahahaha, that's one of the funniest of your gems Claig!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 10/08/2016 14:55

Just reread my last comment and that is meant to be crap not cheap. Damn phone, ruining my argument!

Mavis respect to you!

My one liners fall flat!

TBH I'm just as worried about the likes of Claig as I am Donald. To excuse such awful behaviour so categorically is almost a bit cult like.

claig · 10/08/2016 14:59

' To excuse such awful behaviour '

I haven't excused it. I said it was a stupid and irresponsible thing to say and he shouldn't have done it.

He doesn't read off scripts usually and he says the first thing that comes to his head

Not one of the conversations I have daily are scripted, and not once has the first thing to come to my head been racist, mysogynistic or hateful.

That's because I'm not racist, mysogynistic or hateful.

claig · 10/08/2016 15:03

No, I said I don't think he called for an uprising, otherwise he would be prosecuted for it.

Lweji · 10/08/2016 15:03

I haven't excused it.

You have, because you keep supporting him, inexcusable behaviour and inexcusable statement, one after another.

Listen to him. Watch what he does.

Lweji · 10/08/2016 15:04

No, I said I don't think he called for an uprising, otherwise he would be prosecuted for it.

He's not that stupid. He left it for people's interpretation. Do you really think the 2nd Amendment People thought he meant voting?

meddie · 10/08/2016 15:05

But its not just an isolated incident of inexcusable things is it. Its gaffe after gaffe after gaffe. When does it stop being just a 'slip up' and recognised for what it is. The ramblings of a hate filled sexist, misogynistic twat and someone who's a danger to be anywhere near power of any sort

claig · 10/08/2016 15:05

'You have, because you keep supporting him'

I have said it was wrong and irresponsible to say it, but I still support him for President because they are different things, just like millions of others do too.

Want2bSupermum · 10/08/2016 15:05

I don't like what Trump said but he clearly demonstrated how stupid everyone is today about the American constitution. The rationale around the 2nd amendment is about the right of the people (what they call milita in the clause) of the United states of America being 'armed' so they are able to overthrow a tyrannical leadership. Guns help but it's more about people uprising to overthrow someone as awful as HC.

Trump has killed the GOP who at this point would be better off splitting into the GOP proper and teabaggers. The democrats would be better splitting into champagne democrats (ie HC) and the social democrats (ie Bernie).

If Bloomberg ran as an independent I think everyone would vote for him. I don't agree with a lot of what he did as mayor of NYC but he always did what he thought was right and only now that DiBlassio is in charge do we see just how much he did for vulnerable groups such as the homeless and disabled. If Bloomberg ran I would be happy to donate to his campaign just because right now we, the American people, do not have a good option to vote as president. HC is just awful. I can't vote for someone who selected a VP whose first words were in Spanish. We have millions of people living in this country from all over the world (in my town lots of Indians, Israeli, Europeans, Chinese and Koreans as well as South Americans). Don't their votes matter?!?

Also, Trump is the only candidate willing to talk about childcare and it's points such as this which are getting him votes. Right now the deduction is $6k for two or more children. We have three children and next year our childcare bill will be $35-39k. We spend less than most of our friends who have a nanny. It would be $45-60k if we had a nanny. We live in the NYC area and while an income of $150k sounds amazing, it does not go far at all in these parts by the time you have paid for health insurance, copays and housing. To give an idea of how expensive it is to live in the NYC metro area, our property taxes are $15k a year alone and that is very low for this area. Most people are paying $20-30k for an average family home. Help with property taxes is based on adjusted income so doesn't really take childcare costs into consideration. Here in NJ the state will assist if your adjusted household income is $75k or less. There are plenty of families who fall into the category if full childcare costs were deductible.

nauticant · 10/08/2016 15:07

No, I said I don't think he called for an uprising, otherwise he would be prosecuted for it.

Your post generating function is on the blink claig, we had that one earlier. Tell your human operator to bash the side of the unit to reset it.

Roussette · 10/08/2016 15:17

I haven't excused it. I said it was a stupid and irresponsible thing to say and he shouldn't have done it

I'm not talking about this isolated incident, I'm talking about all he says that is racist, misogynist, violent, hate-filled, violence inciting, everything. Can you excuse all he says on the premise of "he doesn't mean it" (your words)?

Lweji · 10/08/2016 15:18

I have said it was wrong and irresponsible to say it, but I still support him for President because they are different things, just like millions of others do too.

How are those two different things?

You support someone to be President who incites violence, and public uprising against an opponent? Worse, against an elected official.

Would you also jump off a bridge if millions were doing it?

claig · 10/08/2016 15:24

He didn't call for it, he didn't incite violence or he would be prosecuted.

I think Trump is in danger of possibly having the nomination removed from him by the Republican Establishment. They are looking for reasons and ways of removing him. If he keeps making gaffes, they may be able to use one of them to remove him. I am nots sure if they can actually do that, but the concerted media pressure is likely to increase in order to try and drive him out.

Roussette · 10/08/2016 15:26

That's the most sensible and much hoped for thing you've said on this thread Claig.

And this possibility - doesn't it tell you something?

Doesn't it tell you that he is not presidential material massive understatement

nauticant · 10/08/2016 15:27

If he keeps making gaffes, they may be able to use one of them to remove him

You mean if he continues to reveal his true nature.

Just5minswithDacre · 10/08/2016 15:28

I think he considers it bold market positioning.
