And now Germany - an axeman has attacked people on a train.

Toast without a doubt Blair and Bush are war criminals but surely to lay every single ounce of blame at their door for ALL THESE TROUBLES is also looking at the situation in a very black and white way?

Over all west operates under democracy, have live and let live ethos, many people from all different religions and creeds flock to the west and MOST live very happily, aside from nasty pockets of racism.

allthemadmen · 23/07/2016 13:12

and of course racism isn't exclusive to white Europeans either is it.

ToastDemon · 23/07/2016 13:39

Yes the West operates under democracy but you have to be on the right side of the wall, as it were, to enjoy it.
Civilians in othe countries, killed by US drone attacks or French airstrikes gain no benefit. They literally need to actually move here for that.
Certainly the Iraq invasion is not the only cause. But it's had a huge impact on recent events.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/07/2016 13:40

There is a poster on this thread who seems to be insinuating that Mossad is behind these attacks.
I wonder what kind of racism that is.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 13:50

I didn't pay much attention to them, I know usual intelligence level of the type of person who hints at a false flag. But yes, even without the Mossad comment (which I missed initially), people who claim practically every news event is a false flag and blather on about crisis actors are often massively anti-Semitic.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 13:51

No doubt calling them anti-Semitic will be shouted down as silencing etc though, so I'll just stick with calling them fucking stupid Wink

sportinguista · 23/07/2016 14:12

Until we know more it seems it is all speculation. There does seem to be a picture of an intensly troubled and depressed young man with a fascination/obsession with mass murder. As the police gather more information so I guess we might be closer to some understanding of this. I don't think it is as simple as right wing, I think it may turn out to be the idea of a lonely young man to go out of this life and take others with him in a manner he was obsessed with. If he was of mixed heritage could this mean he felt he was an outsider, this might be the only part his Iranian heritage may have in all this.

All that remains is that today some people are dead and many injured and there is grief and loss.

RedToothBrush · 23/07/2016 14:46

where is it said this is all refugees fault?

Go on twitter. That's ALL there is. Its utterly depressing.

recall · 23/07/2016 14:53

I mentioned Mossad in my post, I didn't intend to insinuate anything, I just found it interesting that Richard Gutjahr was a witness to both massacres, and that his wife is an Israeli politician and was a Mossad agent.

It is possible to refer to people of a different race/religion/ethnicity without being racist.

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 14:55

RedToothBrush

So no response to the facts posted above, then? No one is claiming it is "all refugees' fault", but terrorists are coming through with the refugees, as Merkel herself admits, and one such refugee did commit an atrocity just days ago.

Ignore those facts if you like, but it just make you look ridiculous and destroys your credibility.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 15:03

Somewhat hypocritical to call red out on not responding to a post when you haven't told me how you plan to single-handedly solve Islamist terrorism...

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 15:06

Recall, please explain your innocent motive as to why you mentioned the blokes wife's former employer?

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 15:07

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond

Does that make my questions any less valid, or Red's ignoring of facts any less blinkered? No.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 15:07

It's just that I can't think of one.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 15:14

One knife wielding teenager to how many refugees let into Germany, I forget?

I don't see where red has denied that anyone with an ulterior motive has snuck in? I see her talking about a significant majority who don't have an ulterior motive and just want the privilege of not being murdered in such large numbers.

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 15:24

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond - "One knife wielding teenager to how many refugees let into Germany, I forget?"

From the victims' perspective, I imagine one was far too many. But thanks for explaining that their suffering and terror is nothing to be concerned about in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps you could write to them as well - I'm sure it'll make them feel so much better.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 15:48

If one stabbing by a refugee proves that all refugees are a liability, what does a shooting by someone born and raised in Germany prove? I'm sure the victims are no less affected than those from the stabbing. And you wouldn't want to let them think "their suffering and terror is nothing to be concerned about in the grand scheme of things" now, would you?

Of course, both the stabber and the shooter were male, shall we examine that from a statistical viewpoint? :)

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 15:51

"If one stabbing by a refugee proves that all refugees are a liability, what does a shooting by someone born and raised in Germany prove?"

Apart from being male, did the attackers have anything else in common?

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 16:02

I don't know, did they both like call of duty? Marilyn Manson? Mod subculture?

I assume you are not so subtly hinting at religion, but I don't know what A\D.S's religion was. As far as I can see, that information hasn't been released yet?

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 16:13

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond - you mean they weren't Seventh-Day Adventists? I didn't know that. Must be something to do with Marilyn Manson after all.

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond · 23/07/2016 16:21

Careful, your racism is showing.

YorkieTalkie · 23/07/2016 16:32

BeyondBeyondBeyondBeyondBeyond - careful, your hostility to Marilyn Manson fans is showing. Some of them are perfectly nice people.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/07/2016 17:23

Recall, you've posted five times on this thread to suggest that Mossad was in on this attack and Nice.

Your source? Peekay truth - an organisation that denies Orlando, Brussels and other attacks, claims they were staged by 'crisis actors', has an obsession with lady gaga and is absolutely anti semitic.
I am embarrassed for you that you believe this racist shit.

sportinguista · 23/07/2016 19:33

You know from the facts laid out it seems this is more of a Columbine. The guy was bullied, swore revenge etc. Absolutely terrible but it seems his motives were those if revenge on those who had bullied him. There doesn't seem to be any Islamst links, just some hugely bad timing.

Yes all the other stuff is still happening, in Kabul today. Just not in Munich.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/07/2016 19:42

Mm, I wonder how the hazzaras foreign policy contributed to their murder by Isis today?
