Every now and then I remember exactly why I dislike Tony Blair so much

Like now, when he can't bring himself to comment on Saddam Hussein's execution.

Even Dubya has commented on it, FGS. What is the matter with that pusillanimous creep, our PM? Is he really so afraid of offending someone by saying the wrong thing? Why can't he comment?

Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk, he's horrid.

There, feel a bit better now I've got that off my chest.

Gordy has no hidden agenda of course

nearlythree · 07/01/2007 09:13

Even Prescott has managed to make a statement. TBH if Gordon's statement does anything to mitigate the damage done esp. with disaffected young Muslims in the UK then good on him - but I doubt it. And of course he has his own agenda, not least impressong his own back bench.

Still don't get why TB hasn't said anything. Is he about to resign?

foxinsocks · 07/01/2007 09:45

I don't hate GB (nor TB either). GB is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. I'm glad he said what he said but people who are anti-labour will point out his agenda and even those pro-labour will wonder why he waited to say what he said.

I just wish TB would hurry up and resign so that GB can take over and the Tories can mount a charge so to speak (would like to see what Cameron is made of). It's all so sterile at the moment.

nearlythree · 07/01/2007 09:52

For me it's not so much that I hate them as that I deplore (to different degrees for each of them) what they do, their double standards and stupidity.

Yiykes!181 messages. Did you think we should print this off and post it to No.10, (a.k.a. The Great Hall of the People??).

I too have taken to vote Lib Dem - not been able to "Vote Labour", (only "New Labour") since 1992 election. The thought of any Tory government is truely awful, so if the polls were close, then would feel compelled to vote NL....did note too Thatcher was a special invitee to Downing Street, and remember him flying off half way round the world to immediately 'pacify' Murdoch chez Murdoch?

pruni, its nice thought, jaws dropping as they deposit thread in same bin as war petitions..

i think they just rely on people having too much to cope with in normal life..
instead of normal people realising they hold the balance of power, like inmates in jail do too!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 07/01/2007 13:35

dh says this country could do with a good revolution

Pann · 07/01/2007 13:37

Yes, Roskva, I can just see it, British-style..."You you mind awfully if....."

hunkermunker · 07/01/2007 13:46

Can we get Tony Blair to do a live chat on MN?

Please?

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 13:49

What sort of revolution ? I must say I quite fancy that sort of thing too !

Would it be peasants with pitchforks, or the proletariate ?

I reckon most of us are now just petty bourgeoisie though, so fat chance of a revolution !!

suzycreamcheese · 07/01/2007 13:50

roskva..our dp's have much in common, and er, me too
hunker..great idea..saving all my vents for you tony..

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 13:51

Yes, hunker I would like to hear his views on disposable nappies.

suzycreamcheese · 07/01/2007 13:52

yellowrose..the peasants now wear burberry and as long as pubs are open cant see it happening sadly..though will clean off my pitchfork just in case...

Pann · 07/01/2007 13:53

Anyone read "A Very British Coup" re a socialist govt. returned to power with a whacking majority?? Excellent read!! Excerpt:

Snotty-nosed journo re rail policy: "I suppose now that the socialists are in power we all have to go second class."

Prime Minister: "Nope. All citizens will now go First Class"

Brilliant.

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 13:53

I know what you mean Suzy, some of our peasants are the richest in the land, look at Prince Charles and his organic farming lark !

hunkermunker · 07/01/2007 13:53

David Cameron did it - Tony Blair should too, IMO.

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 13:55

Bloody hell, I would like to see the day any govt. gives us First class passes, instead of crap seats in second class, squeezed in between all those prols in rush hour

Pann · 07/01/2007 13:58

SHAMELESS HIJACK.

There will be NO revolution for any of you til I get my wall hangings sorted!! Go to 'Style' now and sort this one out. Then, and ONLY then, can we staff the barracades!!

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 14:00

For starters, I would like to put a pitch fork up Red Ken for putting up travel tickets in London AGAIN !

I got on a bus the other day for the first time in ages, and had to pay 2 quid for 2 stops

Is this the way to encourage people to use public transport ?

suzycreamcheese · 07/01/2007 14:02

pann..wall hangings that is a good suggestion for dear leader et al..
now, for his 'interior decoration' I could re organise that for him no problem!

suzycreamcheese · 07/01/2007 14:03

yellowrose..and Ken, getting rid of routemasters too..straight to the gallows!

the best thing i saw happen to him was slow handclap trafalgar sq demo after he re-joined labour party..people just walked away too it was fab..

yellowrose · 07/01/2007 14:06

Yeh I know, I can just imagine him being the next guest on Celebrity Big Brother too, in a RED leotard al la Galloway !

suzycreamcheese · 07/01/2007 14:17

yr - if it pays, i think he'll be in there!
