Paris is different because there wasn't a police and media cover up

Great post, ego.

hiddenhome2 · 11/01/2016 11:37

'emily' supports and sympathises with the racists who attacked these women.

This is abhorrent.

venusinscorpio · 11/01/2016 11:38

Cross post! I was referring to your earlier one this morning, but that one is good too!

LongWayRound · 11/01/2016 11:39

olive The only mention I've seen of Facebook posts being deleted was with reference to the first post on the subject on the Nett-Werk Köln FB group. That post was deleted by the group admins, but after the site was flooded with posts on the subject they stopped moderating. If you go to their page now, most of the top posts are from people getting rid of second hand furniture, but there are still a lot on the sexual assaults.

I don't think it is a case of FB systematically deleting posts on the subject, though maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

hiddenhome2 · 11/01/2016 11:39

Pegida - white far right supporters

Sex attackers - brown racists attacking white victims.

Both groups are racist.

The population of Europe isn't ready for the unpalatable truth

Have just emailed Woman's Hour, if a programme which is supposed to be for women, by women, ignores such events and all its implications, the mute media, the ineffectual police force, the curbing of women's rights and freedoms then things look very grim indeed.
im not holding out much hope to be honest, maybe we'll get something on self defence to 'empower' us.

emilybohemia · 11/01/2016 11:53

I didn't make any posts of that kind hiddenhome. You were however, troll hunting last night and behaving like a bully.

Ego, I have said people are racist when they make generalisations about people with Arabic or N African appearance and about Islam. There have been many posts of this nature on all three threads.

The focus on 'their' culture and 'their' way of life does seem racist to me. It has not been established that the men were recently arrived immigrants. A number of them may have been living in Germany for some time. Parts of culture in Germany do not respect women. Appalling attitudes to women in western culture exist already.

You talk about me not having enough concern for women's issues. Do you only draw the line at sexual violence when it is hundreds of assaults, rather than a lesser number?

If I don't jump to the conclusion that the attacks in Cologne mean limiting multiculturalism or crtisicing Islam, does it mean I don't care? No, it doesn't, it means that I am refusing to participate in the pretence that these things only matter, are only important, are only outrageous - and only indeed, only real - when perpetrated by certain kinds of men.

It's now being reported that the man shot attacking a police station in Paris on behalf of ISIS was arrested for sex assault in Cologne in 2014. He was a resident of Cologne and they are now investigating if he was involved in NYE. I am convinced that there is going to be ISIS linked orchestration behind this.

emily, yes, I agree you shouldn't be troll hunted just because you disagree. But sansoora shouldn't have made trolling accusations either.

hiddenhome2 · 11/01/2016 11:59

No I don't troll hunt. I merely asked a question.

You, on the other hand started calling me 'weird', which is not acceptable because I have asd.

You support racists who attack and rape women from another culture.

Olivepip59 · 11/01/2016 12:03

longway thank you for the clarification.

Emily, you ignored a post I put up earlier, referring to the appalling treatment of the women & girls living in the refugee settlements, who are far outnumbered by their male counterparts and who experience the threat of violence/sexual violence daily as they have no means to keep themselves safe from any men intent on attacking them. Plenty of assaults & attempted assaults have been suppressed/kept quiet, and little is being done about the real danger these women & girls are in.

What's your stance on those women & girls plight? Do you care enough about those refugees to look at this and see the threat & danger some men pose in these circumstances?

VertigoNun · 11/01/2016 12:09

MNHQ, please deal with the reports on this thread.

Fed up of the bickering.

LumelaMme · 11/01/2016 12:09

FFS, emily: here we go again:
I have said people are racist when they make generalisations about people with Arabic or N African appearance and about Islam.
Islam is not a race. Yes, generalising about 'Arabs' or 'North Africans' without qualification IS racist. Generalising about how one feels the cultural background of, say, Iran, might have affected the outlook of young men growing up there is NOT racist (any more than saying, 'In England, people generally queue up, unlike the Netherlands, where they don't). And, finally, Islam is not a race. It is a religion.

I am wasting no further energy debating with you. It is not helping either of us.

hiddenhome2 · 11/01/2016 12:10

It must be a terrible thing to be a rape apologist Sad

I wouldn't be able to find it within me, I really wouldn't. Those poor refugee women running the gauntlet every day when they're with people who should be supporting them, what with them being in the same boat and all Sad
