He questioned McCain's war hero status and the Establishment went ballistic trying to stop him and it had no effect. Now he's turned on Bush, he was against the Iraq War, he is against the Syria policy and even Ukraine policy it looks like. He is just not playing ball with the Establishment at all and they don't know how to stop him.

If he does end up with the Republican nomination then the Democratic candidate is almost guaranteed to win. Unless it's Bernie Saunders as he is equally on the far side of the left's spectrum. But it's highly unlikely to be anyone other than Hilary.

Um, I'm not sure trump will actually have that impact. I'm not entirely sure he knows what he's signing up for, he seems pretty clueless to me, government isn't business, it's a lot more frustrating and difficult.

I don't think he is racist or sexist. I think he has broken the Establishment's Overton window of political correctness by questioning McCain's war record, questioning that Bush "kept America safe", questioning the anti Putin policy that could potentially lead to a third world war that would benefit only the bankers, questioning the climate change game that is hampering American industry, questioning the offshoring of jobs that is making Americans poorer apart from the 1% who are getting richer and questioning immigration.

I think you are making the mistake of underestimating how many people are against the political correctness and spin, the Gordon Brown strutting speeches and the Jamie Oliver "campaigns" to change attitudes, and if it is between Trump and Clinton, then Trump will win hands down. However, Biden would be a more formidable opponent as he is not as politically correct.

Trump has tapped into the national mood, and the mood worldwide, of the majority of the people (the silent majority, not the Jamie Oliver media campaign people) and that is why the Establishment is powerless to stop him.

What explains Trump's phenomenal success? He is blunt, he is attack-dog, he is not prim and proper and not politically correct, he shoots from the hip, but that is what people like because it means he has the courage to be honest and not in thrall to the politically correct elite who don't want to be challenged over McCain's war hero status or anything else.
