9/11. Not interested in a debate here, but can we just have a quick show of hands?

I'm just interested in how many people around here are also highly skeptical of what we have been told about 9/11.

I'm really not after a debate (it would be long, involved, probably pointless and personally I have done this elsewhere), but I just wanted to see who is around.

It has very strong ongoing relevance for current world events.

Many thanks.

claig
That's understandable, and common in communities that unite around a common illness or difference. People with eating disorders and chronic illnesses are also very dismissive of treatment, and give it dismissive nicknames (like your 'pyschobabble') because they are also scared of other people seeking treatment, getting better and abandoning them.
Therefore the group conditions itself and other members to disbelieve treatment will work and therefore discourage others seeking it out.
Associated with that is discrediting survivors stories. Either they were never truly a 'proper' member in the first place and were a stooge or haven't properly recovered. Again, it reinforces the futility of seeking treatment.

I will repeat my good wishes. I hope you find a path that suits you and your belief system but also helps make you happier Flowers

"is "The 911 Conspiracy Theorist Who Changed His Mind" BBC?"

What are you trying to say claig? Is Charlie Veitch part of the conspiracy too, a double agent?

AnotherEffingOrangeRevel · 13/10/2015 12:00

Yes, that's right, Pepperpot.

Why stupid?
Surely if a theory doesn't seem to explain events adequately, you can reject that theory.

OP posts:
claig · 13/10/2015 12:02

'What are you trying to say claig?'

I am asking if it was a BBC programme?

Charlie Veitch? Who? What? Where? When?

Compared to Alex Jones and the US conspiracy researchers of legendary status, Veitch is a nonentity which may be why the BBC had him in one of their shows instead of interviewing recognised legendary researchers.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 13/10/2015 12:18

Charlie Veitch was a 9/11 conspiracy theorist who was friends with Alex Jones. He was very vocal about the controlled demolition theory.

He went on the BBC Conspiracy Road Trip and changed his mind, after talking with demolition experts and construction engineers. He's another motor-mouthed self -publicist, but, as claig says, no way on a par with Alex Jones's motor-mouthed self publicism - which of course is stratospheric in it's egotism.

Veitch was then sent abuse, death threats, accused of child abuse etc- and basically was not friends with Alex Jones any more. He was thrown out of the cult and punished. Although I expect that didn't come as too much of a shock to him. No doubt he enjoyed talking about it Wink

claig · 13/10/2015 12:27

'He went on the BBC Conspiracy Road Trip'

So it was BBC. Why was it called a 'Road Trip'? Was someone somewhere taking the Michael?

'was not friends with Alex Jones any more'

I'm not surprised. Did Alex Jones ever meet Veitch? What sort of friend was he?

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 13/10/2015 12:34

"Conspiracy researchers"

This is just getting funnier.

I presume this is people who scan crowds looking for "crisis actors" (i.e. people who look vaguely similar). And have a blog or youtube channel. (Because of course mainstream media is all controlled by our reptilian overlords (to get Ickian) but youtube (owned by Google....) isn't).

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 13/10/2015 12:36

claig, stop being silly - every time I've called it the BBC Conspiracy Road Trip, so why are you surprised it is the BBC.

The article I linked to is the Telegraph.

It was a BBC program which took a group of people who believe in various conspiracy theories around various experts/witnesses to events.

claig · 13/10/2015 12:38

"youtube (owned by Google....) isn't"

Google has enabled the people to communicate via youtube in ways that circumvent the mainstream media and their control on information. Google wants hits and viewers to its site to make money off advertising and in order to allow people to communicate and share information.

The elite don't like it one little bit, but they don't like Alex Jones either, or the Daily Mail, or Farage or Jeremy Corbyn but they haven't got it all their own way.

I can see you are very upset by this issue, but there is no need to be patronising. No need to suggest I google Cantor Fitzgerald, thanks Hmm

Clearly there are a lot of nutjobs about who believe some weird stuff about 9/11. You are perfectly within your rights to challenge Claig on her very marginal ideas. Does not mean others can't question, politely, your claims, too.

thehypocritesoaf · 13/10/2015 12:42

So apart from the v entertaining ukip Claig, the op and the rest of the conspiracy theorists refuse to put a single argument with evidence together to explain exactly who in their eyes actually masterminded 9/11 and why - apart from - "woo, something doesn't add up, question everything, you're all sheep" etc etc.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 13/10/2015 12:44

Signs of a cult:

  1. Charismatic leader
Alex Jones
  1. Indoctrination and brainwashing
Yes
  1. No tolerance for questions
Indeed
  1. People who leave are always wrong
See Charlie Veitch
  1. Intimidation of people who leave
As above
  1. Money
Alex Jones appears to be getting pretty rich off all this
claig · 13/10/2015 12:46

'Signs of a cult'

whatisthat, we are not discussing New Labour abd the Blairites, we are talking serious research about puppets.

claig · 13/10/2015 12:48

Signs of a cult:

  1. Charismatic leader
Blair (major fail, laughing stock)
  1. Indoctrination and brainwashing
Yes, absolutely
  1. No tolerance for questions
Indeed and answerrs full of spin
  1. People who leave are always wrong
See Jeremy Corbyn
  1. Intimidation of people who leave
As above and beyond
  1. Money
Bags full of it, charidees, luvvies and all the rest
thehypocritesoaf · 13/10/2015 12:48

Yes, it's perfectly pleasant to find it very very odd that people phoned their loved ones from the towers.

Very odd behaviour indeed -

I would therefore suggest a sinister cabal of Americans and jews arranged all of this.

This will not put me off going to Florida Disney, mind you.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 13/10/2015 12:49

So despite there being a worldwide conspiracy (presumably we're talking about New World Order), google (with its venture capitalist investors) has managed to remain out of their clutches.

I reckon we're going to be OK then because clearly the "elite" can't control much of anything.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 13/10/2015 12:49

Then UKIP are also a cult.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 13/10/2015 12:52

"serious research about puppets"

What, like kermit and miss piggy? Talking of which I've heard they've got a new show starting. Can you let me know whether they're part of elite masterplan or are we OK to watch it?

TRexingInAsda · 13/10/2015 12:54

No.

claig · 13/10/2015 12:55

'google (with its venture capitalist investors) has managed to remain out of their clutches'

There is no alternative because the United States of America has the First Amendemnt enshrined in its Constitution which entitles its people and conspiracy researchers (eg Alex Jones) to the right of free speech, so if it wasn't Google, then some other company would provide it.

Obviously the elite are always looking for ways in which they can restrict the rights of "We The People" by removing or changing some of the Amendments enshrined in the Constitution by the Founding Fathers, but however many "crisis actors" there may be, they haven't managed to change the Constitution and remove the people's liberties yet.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 13/10/2015 12:57

Oh yes, and of course you've got to keep the guns too, that the evil elite are trying to prise away to enable them to subjugate the masses.

claig · 13/10/2015 12:57

'I reckon we're going to be OK then because clearly the "elite" can't control much of anything.'

Yes, the elite have been rumbled and are on the down. Jeremy Corbyn's victory took them by surprise, all their spin and "bigwigs" failed to fool the people. Make no mistake, they are fuming about it, but they lost and their puppets failed.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 13/10/2015 12:59

Oh my. It's like bingo.

claig · 13/10/2015 13:00

'Can you let me know whether they're part of elite masterplan or are we OK to watch it?'

The real Muppets are not part of the elite masterplan. Miss Piggy would bever stand for it, no one tells her what to do. However, there are certainly muppets who are part of it and the BBC often has them on TV to listen to their spin.

claig · 13/10/2015 13:02

'Then UKIP are also a cult'

How very dare you!

Everybody knows that UKIP are known as the People's Army, made up of the people, who oppose all cults, cliques, cronies and luvvies.
