This is in the news a lot at the moment.

I have never, to my knowledge, heard anyone make anti-Semitic remarks. Anti Islam, yes. Anti "them Polish people coming over here and taking our very badly paid jobs", yes. Anti Semitic, no. Am I just very lucky/ sheltered?

I have been racially abused many times, and I am white.

It has decreased over time, but never really goes away, I have well-developed 'spidey-senses', Isitmebut

The limited imagination of most racists means I can only be a Jew or Pole.

I am neither. (But would be proud to be both)

I am also delurking after posting quite a while ago to share this article which I find deeply worrying.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/11396420/London-schools-cancel-synagogue-trips-citing-security-fears-after-Paris-terror-attacks.html

"Three schools in west London pulled out of planned visits to nearby Jewish places of worship, including events to commemorate victims of the holocaust, in recent weeks citing safety concerns."

What does that mean in a supposedly multi-cultural society?

That it is acceptable to have a minority which is considered at risk and keep them that way?

That supposedly multi-cultural schools can teach that message as well as not exposing their students to a different culture?

That it's fine for Jews to be killed?

If there is a problem in society it needs fixing not avoiding.
