UKIP on 20% and a chicken on the loose in the House. They're desperate!

"Labour has a five-point lead over the Conservatives in the latest Opinium/Observer poll, which shows that half of voters think the prime minister is looking for excuses not to take part in live television debates ahead of the 7 May general election."

www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jan/17/labour-takes-lead-conservatives-cameron-opinium-poll

Why don't the pollsters ask the question that the public asks themselves - Would an empty chair perform better than Cameron in the TV debates?

The Establishment promoted Russell Brand to try and stop the people and their party - UKIP. Now we hear that Cameron's sixth cousin, Oxbridge graduate, Alastair James Hay Murray, who "is in remainder both to English and Scottish peerage titles, including the barony of Strange and the dukedom of Atholl" and plays the role of "The Pub Landlord" is standing against the People's Politician, Nigel Farage.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Murray

They're desperate. Will they ask Laurel and Hardy to stand aginst the People's Party next? Oh wait, they've already got Cameron and Clegg.

Maybe you ought to do some in depth research into this man you so confidently tell us is the future of our country Blush

Baddz · 25/01/2015 19:10

I think a degree in history should be essential for any politician...it's only by learning about the past we avoid the same mistakes.

MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:12

But he hasn't run a business, he was a commodity trader, which I can explain to you if you need, but it certainly isn't running a business or anything near.

It's more like being a very nasty banker.

claig · 25/01/2015 19:12

'So he lied to you and you're still supporting him?'

I don't know if he lied, I would have to check and I probably misunderstood it. But what counts is how close he meets my views not that he matches every thing I want. It is impossible to find a politician that agrees with every one of our views, what counts is a politician that matches most of them.

Lol you really are a supporter aren't you Hmm

claig · 25/01/2015 19:16

'Why the attitude towards people with academic qualifications?'

Because politics is about people and politicians serve the people. It is not about facts and figures. Understanding the people, not being "out of touch" is what counts because they represent millions of people who want things done. Degrees don't come into it. Farage left school at 18, John Major left school at 16. It doesn't matter. Common sense is more important than over intellectual academic performance.

MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:17

You don't know if he lied, you heard what he said, but you might not have understood?

Why would anyone on here listen to you then? By your own admission, you don't understand it.

claig · 25/01/2015 19:18

'you really are a supporter aren't you '

Yes I want change that is why I support the people's army. They are our only hope of toppling the arrogant spinners and giving a voice to the people.

I am prepared to overlook gaffes, put up with disappointment in order to achieve the goal of a better future and change that delivers a better life for ordinary people.

'Why would anyone on here listen to you then?'

What makes you think anyone does?

But they would be foolish not to because I know my onions and predicted that Clacton would be a landslide when all the pundits doubted it.

Grin You are hilarious Grin

claig · 25/01/2015 19:23

'You are hilarious'

Thank you. I like to have a laugh.

He told you he was in business and he wasn't. But that doesn't matter because ..................
He's the wizard of oz? Confused

LumpySpacedPrincess · 25/01/2015 19:24

Milliband was a TV journalist, why is that not a real job but Forages is? Confused

MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:25

You don't know your onions, you clearly don't listen to the news or check the internet.

It's like conversing with a nazi, so I'm leaving the conversation. I have better things to do.

claig · 25/01/2015 19:25

'He told you he was in business and he wasn't.'

But unlike you, I don't really care if he ran a tuck shop or not. That is not why I vote for him. I vote for him because he is "in touch" with the people and speaks common sense.

He trounced the Cambridge and College of Europe educated Clegg. That is what I like, common sense that cuts through spin.

OP posts:
claig · 25/01/2015 19:27

'Milliband was a TV journalist'

Was that broadcasting from his bedroom? What channel was that for?

OP posts:
MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:27

You don't care if he lied to you or not? Wow, I look forward to seeing your posts in relationships if that's acceptable to you.

claig · 25/01/2015 19:31

He said he worked in business. Why is that lying? He didn't say he ran or owned a business. What he said is fine by me.

OP posts:
MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:33

No, trading commodities is not working in business, at all. He's working on the basis that you're too stupid to know the difference.

(I'd be insulted)

claig · 25/01/2015 19:37

'trading commodities is not working in business'

Is a commodities trading firm a business or is it an academic department?

He worked in a business, he worked in business, he was not an academic.

OP posts:
claig · 25/01/2015 19:39

He was not an actor, he was not a politician, he was not a comedian, he worked in business. And by his own account, he worked hard every day until lunch time. That is good enough for me. I'm not as fussy as you.

OP posts:
MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:40

Okay, so I do have to spell it out.

He worked in a bank.

Bankers don't have to understand business.

MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:40

Jesus, you really do struggle don't you?

claig · 25/01/2015 19:43

'He worked in a bank.

Bankers don't have to understand business.'

So someone who works in a bank and has an MBA specialising in the banking industry is not participating in the banking business and doesn't have to understand the banking business?

OP posts:
MuttonCadet · 25/01/2015 19:46

They have to understand banking, but not business.

Good lord, I'm worried about you Blush
