UKIP on 20% and a chicken on the loose in the House. They're desperate!

"Labour has a five-point lead over the Conservatives in the latest Opinium/Observer poll, which shows that half of voters think the prime minister is looking for excuses not to take part in live television debates ahead of the 7 May general election."

www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jan/17/labour-takes-lead-conservatives-cameron-opinium-poll

Why don't the pollsters ask the question that the public asks themselves - Would an empty chair perform better than Cameron in the TV debates?

The Establishment promoted Russell Brand to try and stop the people and their party - UKIP. Now we hear that Cameron's sixth cousin, Oxbridge graduate, Alastair James Hay Murray, who "is in remainder both to English and Scottish peerage titles, including the barony of Strange and the dukedom of Atholl" and plays the role of "The Pub Landlord" is standing against the People's Politician, Nigel Farage.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Murray

They're desperate. Will they ask Laurel and Hardy to stand aginst the People's Party next? Oh wait, they've already got Cameron and Clegg.

'Did you see on the Daily Politics today on a UKIP poster they put a telephone number that is not theirs????'

Yes, another gaffe to make the People's Party, the "common sense" party look like they have no sense. The people ignore it all and just laugh, they are keeping calm and voting UKIP.

'how the hell can anyone senior Ukipper wanted to be in government, not be responsible for proof reading the message on a poster, or worse still, did, and still screwed up?'

That is the $64000 question. All fingers probably point to the same source. The people are immune to it, the more the Establishment give oxygen to it, the more the People treat it like laughing gas. The UKIP voter is no ass.

There will be lots more gaffes before election day, the Establishment will see to that, but it won't make any difference. No matter how many "comedians" they have got, no matter how many "gaffes" they discover or how many gags they make, UKIP are on the road to electoral success, it is an "earthquake", the People are wide awake.

OP posts:
claig · 22/01/2015 16:13

This is what Farage said about Cameron's sixth cousin

"If he turns up in Thanet and does his act as the patriotic pub landlord, people might think he is laughing at them. While his caricature is very funny there are a lot of people who he might actually offend."

The more the Establishment laugh at the people with the gaffes they unearth, often made by former longstanding conservative councillors, the worse their parties will do.

It is no good laughing at the People, they "ain't bovvered". When the election results are read out, the cronies will be clobberred.

While I'm waiting for the earth to move, getting back to the Daily Politics, that Suzanne Evans lady you like was on speaking about something or other.

Its her mouth, I spend more time looking at that than listening to her words.

It reminds me of a cats arse, I don't know why.

Isitmebut · 22/01/2015 16:20

Farage vs the Pub Landlord, looks a fair 'blokey' fight to me.

claig · 22/01/2015 16:22

This is the reality all over the place

"I heard myself the other day telling a jovially disengaged taxi driver – who had said our great nation was sliding into hell – to vote Ukip if that was where the logic of his thoughts took him. Better that than indolent spluttering from behind the wheel. By the end of our conversation, he said he would, especially as that Farage seemed a good bloke. I only hope his vote, delivered late, with the cab illegally parked and the meter running, doesn’t hand Farage another seat."

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/jan/18/nigel-farage-hardline-rhetoric-undoing-ukip

The "gaffes" the Establishment are outraged about are just laughed off by the People. They don't care, they have had enough. The more "gaffes" the Establishment discover, the worse it will be for their parties when the results are read out.

"It’s early days; he [Farage] has a lot on his shoulders. And now he’ll have a real clown – Al Murray, the Pub Landlord – mocking him man to man in Thanet. He could yet unravel."

Cameron's sixth cousin won't have any effect on the UKIP bandwagon. In fact it will probably drive more people to UKIP as they possibly feel they are being mocked.

The Establishment are biting their nails, there are just 4 months to go, they are on a harem scarem ride, it is out of their hands, the People will decide. No think tanks, no "comedians", no "gaffes" and no PPEs can bring the people to their knees.

OP posts:
Isitmebut · 22/01/2015 16:27

As a taxpayer, if I have to contribute to £100k a year MPs for 'different politics', I think the Pub Landlord who is both funny and sez it how it is "I have no idea where Thanet is, no policies, and don't want to meet the people' - he'll be far better value. lol

“Nigel Farage calls for MP pay rise to £100,000 - just weeks before announcing where he will stand in 2015”
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nigel-farage-calls-for-mp-pay-rise-to-100000--just-weeks-before-announcing-where-he-will-stand-in-2015-9593756.html

claig · 22/01/2015 16:35

' I think the Pub Landlord who is both funny and sez it how it is "I have no idea where Thanet is, no policies, and don't want to meet the people' - he'll be far better value. lol'

That is because you don't want PR, local democracy, local referenda, luvvies kicked out of their expenses paid roles in quangos, scrapping of the Establishment's cherished Climate Change Act, the end of taxpayer subsidies to landed gentry for erecting windfarms on their large estates, slashing of "our ring-fenced" foreign aid budget, an end to "modernisation", the start of us regaining our national sovereignty, restoring democracy and leaving the EU, and end to our hoovers and lawnmowers being banned to "save the planet", streetlights switched back on in counties all over the land after midnight, and end to gimmicks, an end to political correctness, scrapping of the bedroom tax, no university fees for students studying maths and science etc etc

Vote Cameron's sixth cousin to stop the People's Party and let Cameron's Conservatives carry on messing things up, or vote Farage and put an end to the mess and put the People first.

It is not UKIP policy, even though the Establishment are doing their best to pretend that it is.
Then why release it in an election leaflet.

Dawndonnaagain · 22/01/2015 16:53

Yes, another gaffe to make the People's Party, the "common sense" party look like they have no sense. The people ignore it all and just laugh, they are keeping calm and voting UKIP.
Which would imply that somebody is releasing these posters and leaflets on behalf of UKIP and they actually have nothing to do with UKIP. If that is the case, why haven't UKIP said so?

claig · 22/01/2015 16:57

'Then why release it in an election leaflet.'

It obviously got through without people noticing it.

"It [the leaflet] ends with the words: "Yet again we're proposing common sense policies and common sense solutions."

Jamie Reed @jreedmp

It's beyond a joke now. Not so much a political party but a stag night out of control.

Simon Sansome, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Charnwood said suspending the driving licences of the unemployed was "an absolutely idiotic idea".

Labour’s shadow health minister Jamie Reed said Ukip was “not so much a political party but a stag night out of control”.

A Ukip spokesperson said "These are not UKIP policies and they will not form part of the UKIP manifesto."

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ukip/11361505/Ban-the-jobless-from-driving-to-ease-congestion-Ukip-candidate-says.html

It won't help the Establishment. it will only make it worse for them. The metropolitan elite may be laughing now but it is water off a duck's back to the People. They know it is not UKIP policy however much the Establishment Boy Who Cried Wolf says it is.

They are helpless, they have run out of ideas, "comedians" and PPEs, they are desperate!

Claig .... Farage sez he is for cheaper government, then says he wants a referendum every week.

Have you not put 2 + 2 together;with NO DOMESTIC POLICIES after 20-odd years, he has to ask the people what to do - they need leaders to get the country back on its feet.

“UKIP backs direct democracy and use of referendums”
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27973093
“Nigel Farage has said UKIP wants to give people direct democracy - with referendums to decide some policy.”

claig · 22/01/2015 16:59

' If that is the case, why haven't UKIP said so?'

Probably because they fear the Establishment's media making a meal out of it and claiming that UKIP are a shower. UKIP have nothing to lose and everything to gain because the people know the game.

OP posts:
claig · 22/01/2015 17:06

'Farage sez he is for cheaper government, then says he wants a referendum every week.'

He doesn't want a referendum every week. he wants a 5% threshold.

I want a referendum every week because I want the people to decide in a real democracy and spending money on referenda is better than spending money on luvvies' perks and expenses and MPs' bath plugs. The people of this country pay all their wages and we deserve referenda on lots of issues so that they can't go to war without our say so or erect their windfarms without our say so or frack our backyards without our say so or feed us GM food without our say so. I want the people to decide, not corporations and lobbyists.

'he has to ask the people what to do - they need leaders to get the country back on its feet. '

Now you are sounding like Tony Blair - the leader - who thinks he knows better than us the people. just because he has a PPE doesn't mean he knows better than the people who pay his wages. Ask the people, that is real democracy. Take power out of the hands of the PPEs, the puppets and the luvvies and let the people have a say.

OP posts:
claig · 22/01/2015 21:07

He has been suspended.

"The leaflet faced widespread scorn within minutes of appearing on Twitter and has prompted an investigation by party bosses.

Mr Yates has now been suspended from his post as Ukip's General Election candidate for the seat of Charnwood."

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2921327/Ban-6million-benefits-claimants-driving-says-Ukip-election-candidate-people-really-catch-bus.html

I didn't realise he was their candidate for a seat in Parliament. It does sound like a bit of a shower.

Who the hell is in charge of selection down there? A senior member of the Establishment? What on earth is going on?

Some of his other ideas are just as barmy

'Prisoners cost the taxpayer upwards of £45,000 per annum EACH,' he wrote.

'Any assets of convicted criminals, for example homes, cars, savings, etc, should be confiscated to help pay for their sentence.

'I personally would look to overseas countries who could tender for their incarceration. I'm sure they could dramatically reduce this cost to the taxpayer.'

The People's Army is a good party and Heaven knows we have got an uphill battle against the luvvies, the PPEs and the metropolitan elite and sure as hell, this type of thing ain't helping. There are millions of good people depending on UKIP. For Heaven's sake I hope UKIP get their act together and don't give the luvvies a free pass.

They call Cameron's sixth cousin a "comedian", but we don't need "comedians" like Mr Yates as candidates for Parliament. There are enough "comedians" in the Tory Party, UKIP is supposed to be about "common sense". This almost looks like taking the piss.

OP posts:
claig · 22/01/2015 21:43

Just because I am on the side of the People and am an advocate of People Power, that doesn't mean that I will put up with anything. I have got minimum standards, I do expect a modicum of intelligence from parliamentary candidates. I'm not prepared to accept candidates taking the piss. After all, that was the reason why I stopped voting Conservative, to get away from all of that.

I voted for the People's Revolution in the expectation that we were going to make a difference, were going to set things right, were going to restore some "common sense", not to vote yet more clowns into power.

I'm a tad disappointed, but I'll pick myself up and carry on. I'll keep my head, keep calm and vote UKIP. I won't let go of my grip.

Probably because they fear the Establishment's media making a meal out of it and claiming that UKIP are a shower. UKIP have nothing to lose and everything to gain because the people know the game.
So you do think that somebody other than UKIP is behind the UKIP leaflets?

Who the hell is in charge of selection down there? A senior member of the Establishment? What on earth is going on?
What on earth? Really? Please tell me you are joking!

then says he wants a referendum every week.
Isitme I suspect you too are terrified of the prospect of government run by the lowest common denominator!

I do expect a modicum of intelligence from parliamentary candidates
In which case one would question your posts and your politics.

Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 09:38

Dawndonnaagain ..... excuse me, are you asking me if I'm against 'direct democracy'. referendums on government/local policies, and the devolving of our budget deficit choices to the regions?

Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 11:02

Dawndonnaagain ..... so as not to spoil my lunch, 'here is one I prepared earlier'.

As what you call "the lowest common denominator" I'd call the local authorities incompetence - who were given powers to raise taxes e.g. Council tax, but like the government overseeing them, chose to grow themselves over any local citizen democracy to choose how to spend any of the discretionary revenues left, AFTER all the fixed costs were met.

How much of any local authority expenditure has been discretionary over the past 18-years, 2%, 5%, 10%, what?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/in_the_news/2188677-Scotland-Wales-N-Ireland-England-to-devolve-careful-what-u-wish-for

So am I terrified of similar happening from 2015, you bet your bippy.

When instead of the mid 2000's when government was 'creating' a £30-£40 billion annual budget deficit overspend to keep inefficient government going, we still have around a £90 billion annual overspend after slimming fat government down - and should not be looking to recreate a similar 'monster', while calling it "investment" and saying the UK will get around to paying the deficit off, some (unspecified) time in the future.

Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 11:22

FYI there is nothing more than I’d like to see as a strong, balanced, UK economy, with a high spending priority given to growing the economies of the regions struggling – but along the lines of, and I paraphrase, ‘give a person a handout they eat for a day, give them a strong local economy and infrastructure and job vacancies, they can always eat & drink themselves legless’. Lol

But I would not trust local authorities to have that vision on their own.

So similar to Scotland, I’d be happy to give local authorities as much ‘line’ of a proverbial Westminster fishing rod, but to say a responsible central government bean counter isn’t needed to oversee and 'reel in' incompetent tax/spending localism, that is not taking lessons from the recent past. IMO

And I'll finish on some political parties are better at fish hand outs, others providing the fishing rods.

Baddz · 23/01/2015 11:40

Oh claig :(
What will ukip have to do for you to admit you are backing a shambolic bunch of morons?

claig · 23/01/2015 12:03

'What will ukip have to do for you to admit you are backing a shambolic bunch of morons?'

If they say they believe in manmade climate change, then it's over for me, then I will finally have had enough! But in the meantime the torch of hope burns brightly. Keep calm and above all remember that "they are desperate!".
The People shall be triumphant.

Last year was the warmest year since records began. The ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising.
Climate change is a fact.
But....keep on keep on your head in the sand. Sing la la la really loudly. That might help.
Soon ukip will be seen for what they are...the ridiculous statements and tweets and FB posts from their MPs and supporters will see to that.

:)

Dawndonnaagain · 23/01/2015 14:42

Claig, you haven't answered any of the points from my last post.

Isitme I was in no way digging at you, government by weekly referenda is a dangerous and expensive route. I was being specific about that point only.

Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 14:50

Dawndonnaagain .... sorry, I didn't understand the question and went off on one.

claig · 23/01/2015 14:55

"So you do think that somebody other than UKIP is behind the UKIP leaflets?"

The Establishment may have played a hand. You have to realise that they are desperate. The whole climate change house of cards could collapse if Farage gets in.

'Please tell me you are joking!'

I am joking but "many a true word is spoken in jest"

"I do expect a modicum of intelligence from parliamentary candidates"

That is consistent with my position in abandoning the Conservatives.
