UKIP on 20% and a chicken on the loose in the House. They're desperate!

"Labour has a five-point lead over the Conservatives in the latest Opinium/Observer poll, which shows that half of voters think the prime minister is looking for excuses not to take part in live television debates ahead of the 7 May general election."

www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jan/17/labour-takes-lead-conservatives-cameron-opinium-poll

Why don't the pollsters ask the question that the public asks themselves - Would an empty chair perform better than Cameron in the TV debates?

The Establishment promoted Russell Brand to try and stop the people and their party - UKIP. Now we hear that Cameron's sixth cousin, Oxbridge graduate, Alastair James Hay Murray, who "is in remainder both to English and Scottish peerage titles, including the barony of Strange and the dukedom of Atholl" and plays the role of "The Pub Landlord" is standing against the People's Politician, Nigel Farage.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Murray

They're desperate. Will they ask Laurel and Hardy to stand aginst the People's Party next? Oh wait, they've already got Cameron and Clegg.

"sorry, I didn't understand the question and went off on one"

So what's new?

OP posts:
Baddz · 23/01/2015 14:57

Farage is a moron.
As are his supporters.
May will be interesting :)

claig · 23/01/2015 15:01

'Farage is a moron.'

If that were true, then why is Eton and Oxford educated PPE degree holder, Call Me Dave, petrified of facing Farage, the People's Contender, in a live TV debate?

Do Call Me Dave and his Oxbridge team of teenage advisers and ministerial modernisers fear that Dave will be mullered by the People's Champion?

OP posts:
Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 15:05

Claig .... "So what's new?"

Harsh but fair; but FYI with you, it is not the question I have problems with, its your numb-nut answers. lol

Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:07

Well...shall we say that ukip...ahem...attracts a certain kind of voter?
A certain age range and ethnicity?
So...yes. I agree with you on that point.
Ukip is going to take a % of the Tory grey vote....despite all the pension pleasing antics of Georgie boy.
But it won't get any of the young vote - people voting for the first time.
It's an election where real change needs to take place, so I predict the voter turnout will be higher than previous elections...too many people who have felt disenfranchised in the past will vote this time because they and their families have been badly affected by the policies of dave and his mates.
Some will vote ukip, of course, because they read the sun and the star.
But....most won't.

claig · 23/01/2015 15:08

Remember how Cambridge, Westminster School and College of Europe Clegg strode confidently onto the debating stage with an arrogance borne of the belief that he would put an end to the impertinence of the People's Champion.

Do you remember how crestfallen Clegg looked when the final bell sounded and he was carried out on a stretcher to lick his wounds?

Never underestimate the People and the People's Party.

They will try everything they have got to stop us because they are desperate!

We may be down, but we're certainly not out. On election night it is going to be a rout!

OP posts:
Dawndonnaagain · 23/01/2015 15:10

The Establishment may have played a hand. You have to realise that they are desperate. The whole climate change house of cards could collapse if Farage gets in.

I rest my case.

Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:12

"People's champion"?
You do know he was privately educated, right?
Please stop trying to make him into something he isn't.
He is as much a part of the elite as dave and his cronies.

Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:13

Down?
You certainly are!
And it's going to get worse, claig...prepare yourself! :)

claig · 23/01/2015 15:13

'Some will vote ukip, of course, because they read the sun and the star.
But....most won't.'

Remember how the Tories brayed that they would win Rochester and put the People's Party back in its box? Remember how crestfallen the arrogant looked on election night when ordinary people gave them a fright?

Why do you think Call Me Dave is trying every move to include as many parties as he can in the TV debates? He's frit! Frit of Farage, the People's Champion.

Don't underestimate the People. Young and old, rich and poor will vote UKIP. The modernisers know it, they have been told it on doorsteps as they knock and beg for people's votes.

OP posts:
Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:14

Of course some will vote ukip, claig.
I'm not disputing that.
Just not as many as you think....

Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:17

...and I do underestimate "the people" who vote ukip.
They cry out for my underestimation!
One by election win does not a governing party make.
By elections are notorious for protest voting, which is exactly what has been happening.
It won't be the same in May.

claig · 23/01/2015 15:20

'Just not as many as you think....'

You are probably right there, because some people will panic at the final hurdle and go back to the status quo. The Establishment parties and the media will convince some people to panic as the Establishment unveils more UKIP "gaffes".

But it will all depend on the public mood. If the public think Cameron is "frit", if they feel they are being mocked by Establishment "comedians", if they see luvvies lording it over them and laughing at them, then the public may just pull the rabbit out of the hat, vote UKIP and say "take that".

OP posts:
Baddz · 23/01/2015 15:22

They wouldn't be able to unveil more gaffes if gaffes weren't made, or is that a conspiracy too!?
I do wonder about ukips selection process claig.
Some of the statements made by their members are really quite concerning from a mental health pov.

claig · 23/01/2015 15:28

'or is that a conspiracy too!?
I do wonder about ukips selection process claig.'

So do I. It is a fiasco.

We had Roger Bird PPE, ex Conservative, and Natasha Bolter claiming she did a PPE and she was ex Labour and who was only marginally less politically correct than Call Me Dave and the Merry Modernisers masquerading as Conservatives, and yet was in line to be a candidate for a seat in Essex, UKIP heartland territory.

What is going on? Don't UKIP want to win?

Is someone having a laugh?

OP posts:
claig · 23/01/2015 15:31

Who is in charge of selection?

Is it former longstanding Conservatives and eminent Establishment 'Erberts?

The people are in revolt. Is someone having a laugh and trying intentionally to put a spanner in UKIP's works?

We're on the home run, victory is a breeze. We're neck and neck with Call Me Dave and the Etonians. Is someone trying to trip us up on purpose? Is someone desperate?

OP posts:
claig · 23/01/2015 15:40

I am waiting for the UKIP Mamifesto.

The Policy Chief was having trouble finishing it off apparently and now Suzanne Evans has been tasked with it.

If it says "we believe in manmade climate change and we have only 50 days left to save the planet and we will keep the Establishment's cherished Climate Change Act" then I'm out, I'll know someone is having a laugh.

OP posts:
claig · 23/01/2015 15:47

Why aren't UKIP putting every available hand onto the task of finishing this manifesto?

If this one ends up as "drivel" drafted by former Conservatives, then we will know that someone was having a laugh all along.

There are millions of good people depending on UKIP to restore some "common sense" and get rid of the luvvies lording over the people. If they blow it this time, then someone was desperate to stop them.

OP posts:
claig · 23/01/2015 15:56

'Some of the statements made by their members are really quite concerning from a mental health pov.'

We have been told that they have the most rigorous selection procedures possible. Psychometric testing the whole shebang. I think they even have hired an outside firm to help with it.

'A 'fruitcake test' has been used by the UK Independence Party to uncover unsuitable characters who might embarrass the party.

Psychometric tests were used to analyse the personalities, reliability and honesty of more than 300 people wanting to run in next year’s European elections.

Experts were called in to prevent a repeat of May’s local elections when UKIP candidates were accused of sexism, racism and homophobia.

But one candidate who passed with flying colours was Godfrey Bloom, the sitting MEP who last week railed against Britain giving aid to ‘Bongo Bongo land’.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage ordered a shake-up of the party selection process to weed out people with views which risked living up to David Cameron’s infamous claim that the party was a ‘bunch of fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists’.

A professional recruitment company was hired to oversee the process, ahead of elections to the European Parliament in May 2014."

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2391182/UKIP-candidates-face-psychometric-testing-selection--Godfrey-Bloom-passed.html

So how come we are still hearing all these "gaffes". Is someone having a laugh?

OP posts:
Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 15:59

Claig .... "If this one ends up as "drivel" drafted by former Conservatives," ... come on take some responsibility, you are only a post away from blaming bloody Thatcher.

UKIP actively courts Conservatives in central and local government, your leader even tried to become an MP SIX TIMES and failed, what does THAT tell you about the Conservatives that end up at UKIP??

FYI if you had not turned 'dark' two sitting Conservatives that managed to achieve what over 500 UKIP candidates failed to do in 2010, UKIP would have less Westminster seats than Respect - so have some.

claig · 23/01/2015 16:02

'Is someone having a laugh?'

But the amazing thing is. the more surreal it gets, the more "gaffes" that are "uncovered" by the Establishment, the less it matters because the People are in revolt, they've already made their mind up.

There are only 4 months to go and even if some people within UKIP are deliberately putting a spanner in the works, it doesn't matter because to the People that just proves that UKIP are not the Establishment and that is all that counts.

It is one hell of a comedy. Even Monty Python couldn't have come up with it. But it is really a tragedy because it shows how disillusioned the people are and how they have had enough of the entire Oxbridge political class who have let the People down as they themselves lived it up on expenses paid for by the People.

OP posts:
claig · 23/01/2015 16:03

'UKIP actively courts Conservatives in central and local government'

That is the problem. That is where the "gaffes" come from. Clean out the stables. Put the People in charge.

OP posts:
Baddz · 23/01/2015 16:08

Didn't Nigel disown the last ukip manifesto!?
It's not looking good claig....I foresee another disowning on the horizon! :)

Isitmebut · 23/01/2015 16:10

"Gaffes", after over 20 odd years in existence fighting general elections, more like Farage gaffer tape put around everything UKIP, run by a collection of village idiots.

UKIP have never had a Westminster horse in their stable before now, their is a lot of shit in there, but it ain't manure.

claig · 23/01/2015 16:15

'It's not looking good claig....I foresee another disowning on the horizon! '

You could be right and that will then mean that the Esatblishment got to UKIP, it was at the heart of it, right there in "The Thick of It".

Then the People will lose once again. But we'll be back with a new party, another People's Party. We'll be down, but we won't be out. Never underestimate the people. We are here to stay!

Are they desperate? You bet!
Can they beat us? No way!
