"Natasha Bolter: Oxford University deny sex scandal Ukip candidate ever attended"

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/ukip/11285916/Natasha-Bolter-Oxford-University-deny-sex-scandal-Ukip-candidate-ever-attended.html

Roger Bird, who is a PPE, introduced Natasha Bolter as having defected from Labour and being a PPE too.

I saw her interviewed on BBC Newsnight last night, and I did begin to wonder about Oxford and PPEs. I'm not a big fan of PPEs at the best of times, but Gordon Bennett, I thought to myself.

What's going on?

"You kid yourself Claig. You are much more involved than an ordinary voter."

Yes because I am interested in politics and the country and would like teh country to be run in a better way that met the people's needs. But I am an armchair voter like most of the rest, I am not interested in committee meetings and all of that.

"this party is totally unelectable and I would be shit scared if they were ever elected"

But this is wrong, you have fallen for the media's propaganda against UKIP - that they are "loonies", "racists" and "fruitcakes", that is what they want you to think because

"Since the 1930s, British politics has essentially been a two-and-a-half-party system, with the Tories and Labour monopolising the dance floor and the Lib Dems, in their various forms, lurking half-heartedly on the fringes.

What is now clear is that those days are finished."

no Claig, not media-fuelled 2nd hand prejudices but first hand eye witness experience. I am not an Establishment plant before you accuse me of that

No one is more disappointed than me. I am now waiting for an EU exit party to be formed.

claig · 19/12/2014 12:51

'And how much of the people does UKIP represent?'

Currently between about 15% to 20% according to the polls. But that is only people who say they would vote for them now. The real number in tune with UKIP's views is much, much higher but they don't yet vote UKIP because they think they don't have a hope of getting in or because they have been taken in by the metropolitan media's attempt to paint UKIP as "fruitcakes".

What will happen is that by 2020, many councils in the East of England and elsewhere will be UKIP majority controlled, more and more Tory coiuncillors will defect to UKIP as they realise that the game is up and the public are with UKIP, and then as the public see UKIP getting stronger, they will believe that UKIP stands a chance and then they will switch to UKIP. It will happen in Labour's northern heartlands, in Wales and in the Tories' southern heartlands.

The silent majority will begin to switch to UKIP as they see them gaining increasing success.

"I am not an Establishment plant before you accuse me of that"

I never said you were. But you have been shocked by ordinary people in UKIP meetings. I am not shocked because I know what they are like. They are not always the brightest, sharpest tools in the box. But UKIP's leadership are not like that.

What UKIP is now is not what they will remain. They are changing, growing and adapting. They will end up representing the silent majority or ordinary people.

"They are not always the brightest, sharpest tools in the box."

Hang on- I thought they were and were the only people safe to be trusted with the governance of Britain. You can't have it both ways!

claig · 19/12/2014 13:14

No they are not the only people safe, they are the best people in order to give a voice to and represent ordinary people, and they will do that by implementing local democracy, local referenda, direct democracy and proportional representation.

I don't care how clever they are, if they have degrees from Oxbridge or not or how high their IQs are, what I care about is how in touch they are with ordinary people.

What does that mean?

To be fair, Kim, we do currently have a Secretary of State for Health who believes in homeopathy...............

claig · 19/12/2014 13:23

"What kind of person would you want in charge of a budget?
In charge of the economy?"

A "common sense" UKIP person.

I want them to slash the foreign aid budget and save £9 billion, scrap the Climate Chaneg Act and save £18 billion, scrap HS2 and sae £40 billion, slash taxpayer funding of charidees, remove luvvies from quangos and close many down and save billions etc, raise the income tax threshhold to £13500 and take minimum wage earners out of taxation etc.

I want "common sense", populist, popular UKIP policies to be implemented by the brightest Oxbridge civil servants following a UKIP lead.

I do think the scary thing is that a lot of people will vote the way Claig is talking "that guy drinks a pint, so he must be better than that guy because he is drinking claret".......

"What about someone in charge of foreign policy?"

I want Farage in charge of foreign policy. He called it right when he said "the EU has blood on its jands over Ukraine" and he was right when he opposed the proposed attack on Syria etc.

"Someone who refers to the Chinese as "Chinkys"?
Diversity and equality? Someone who calls homosexuals "poofters"?"

No I don't like people who insult others and that is why I said they should get rid of that candidate and they did get rid of him.

What Claig wants us what I want too. Unfortunately none of these things feature very highly on the wish list of the average Kipper.

Did you hear Nigel defending the use of the word Chinky this morning?

claig · 19/12/2014 13:29

"And how would UKIP tackle the £100 billion deficit?

Which public services would be cut?"

They will cut other things apart from public services e.g the Climate Change Act which will save £18 billion, foreign aid which will save £9 billion a year, HS" which will save £40 billion, slash quangos which will save billions etc.

'I thought Farage admired Putin.'

Farage admired the way Putin prevented a widening war in Syria and the proposed strike on Syria, that Cameron wanted, and which Farage opposed.

"Asked which current world leader he most admired, Farage replied: "As an operator, but not as a human being, I would say Putin.

"The way he played the whole Syria thing. Brilliant. Not that I approve of him politically. How many journalists in jail now?"

"HS2 is not part of the £100 billion."

We are paying interest on over £100 billion so we can't afford to waste money by spending £40 billion on HS2, which is why UKIP will scrap it.

Claig ..... Here another example of UKIP candidate 'double standards' - and even though she only 'earns' £79k, as the EU pays MEP's £3,500 expenses money directly into their account WHETHER THEY CLAIM IT OR NOT - why not have the political/maternal sense TO SETTLE THIS?

“Ukip MEP Janice Atkinson, who attacked 'feckless' welfare families, owes £2,000 in missed child support payments”
www.independent.co.uk/news/people/ukip-mep-janice-atkinson-who-attacked-feckless-welfare-families-owes-2000-in-missed-child-support-payments-9935761.html

”The politician told Channel 4, who uncovered the seeming discrepancy, that she was currently in a dispute with the Child Support Agency (CSA) over the amount.”

”She has apparently already been taken to court twice by the CSA for past payments she fell behind on.”

”Atkinson was elected as an MEP for South East England in May this year, a position paid on average £79,000 a year.”

“While it is a bit of a struggle, there is no support whatsoever from this woman,” her ex-husband, Steve Small, who has custody over the two children, said.”
