'Mumsnet hijacked by sex discussions' - Telegraph article, your views?

Hi all,

There is an article in The Telegraph today discussing the "risqué underbelly" of Mumsnet, and claiming that the site is "being hijacked by women looking to share steamy details of their private lives, leading to complaints from mothers looking for serious advice."

Justine has commented in the article, saying: "Happily it seems some mothers do still have time for their sex lives and we're pleased to provide a go-to destination for straight answers when you need to ask life's important but often embarrassing questions."

What are your thoughts on this?

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/10/2013 09:29

I heard Justine started it to discuss family holidays ?!
... but things developed from there Grin

I had that Joanna Baxter once.

That's the joy of MN though. You ask about the mundane business of life, and you can also have a conversation you wouldn't dream of having with your MIL. And you can say cunt while having that conversation.

and stop pointing out my risque underbelly, I'm on a diet. How rude.

SolidGoldBrass · 23/10/2013 12:34

KayHarker! Haven't seen you in here in ages, how are you?

youretoastmildred · 23/10/2013 12:37

Hello KayHarker! you won't recognise me, even if you remembered me I namechanged. Nice to see you anyway.

LineRunner · 23/10/2013 12:38

Indeed, Kayharker, when people start saying that all that's good about MN is in their eyes all that's bad about MN, then those people are our fodder not our critics. Smile

Oh hello SGB, nice to see you too. I took an extended break to sort out my marriage, which is now a healthy and positive thing in my life instead of a millstone round my neck, and that change was largely encouraged by my time on MN

My mental health is much better, my kids are all doing well at school and I have acres of time in the day to write and waste time on MN.

I thought it was about time that I came back to hijack MN again to discuss smut and Doctor Who. Grin Sorry to all those people who only come here for serious advice. Can I recommend... getting a fucking grip?
