the saddest cuts, that will affect the most vulnerable

one example
on the news last night there was one person who will no loose her only contact with the outside world as the day centre she uses will close.
another will loose his phisio which will affect his life expectancy.
this is just one example of one council, but it is happening every where, it is a discrace and very short sighted as now more people will have to go into residential care, and that will cost so much more.

My last reading of the documents (nov 2011 briefing note on children and dla) was that PIP was not being introduced with those under 16. Sorry on iPhone so can't do link. Can anyone point me to where to read about this

molepom · 18/02/2012 20:02

And yet he was quized in the House Of Lords earlier this week about CHILD PIP! So that's a load of crap trying to keep the masses quiet. On phone so cant link either.

googlenut · 18/02/2012 20:14

He has no shame.

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 21:57

I have given a lot of thought to this thread over the past 24hrs and I think I have solved this fucking government's problem. Right
1)all pregnancies to have amniocentices by law at 22 weeks, all abnormalities terminated.
2)all babies delivered below 26 weeks not to be resuscitated.
3)all children who happen to have a severe infection which will render them disabled no treatment.
4)all people who have the misfortune to be in a severe accident don't treat.
and at the other end of life at retirement shoot them.
BTW that would exterminate me DH and our 5 children, reminds me another regime.

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 21:58

Has this government have no shame

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 22:00

oh grammar shoot me

molepom · 18/02/2012 22:13

No one cares about grammer at the moment, many people are making mistakes as they are too angry to bother over the little things.

I agree, the reforms and consequenses are far too fucking familiar and the Gov doesn't even know what the word Shame means. Bunch of Heartless, selfish, thoughtless, blinkered, cunts that are happy to let the big companies that run them watch while they fuck us all.

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 22:21

BUMP molepom but what can we do short of a blood bath may be piss on them.

molepom · 18/02/2012 22:26

Hit them where it hurts, if the big companies they are so fond of are taking on free workers and avoiding paying tax at the same time, boycott them and let everyone else know why..

It's not much but it's a start..we cant get to the gov directly, but we can get to the companies that sponsor them or the one who play by their rules.

There's a few threads around at the moment, one being about tesco if you dont know already.

Latest delveopment is that IDS has just come out and call us all JOB SNOBS as regards to the workfare scheme.

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 22:40

I avoid Tescos originally on the grounds school clothes were so cheap it was obvious the workers were paid a pittance(not really this thread) I now try and shop at the Co-Op. I feel there should be a revolution, know many families who would support.

molepom · 18/02/2012 22:50

The mood is ripe for one. I'm up for it that's for certain. Although I fear the revolution and the strike/riots will only happen once both the welfare reform and the Health and social reform have come to pass and the general public actually see first hand what is happening and how it affects them personally....I do think there will be a revolt of some sort and it's been brewing for a while now.

2old2beamum · 18/02/2012 23:01

Blow the bloody bugles boys
Beat the bloody drums
Blow the bloody bourgeoisie into kingdom come

learnt from my father's knee

molepom · 18/02/2012 23:02

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!

I had to use every once of my being not to shout that as I passed my local tesco today.

Bless your dad for that, I'm going to be saying that to my kids tomorrow...

googlenut · 18/02/2012 23:11

All these cuts are being done without any dialogue or consultation. Sweeping cuts without thinking through. And they are treating us all like naughty children who just have to take the punishment, no questions asked. When the grandparents (the house of lords) step in to say they are being too severe they take no notice and carry on.

Are PIPs not for people over 16? I thought they were leaving children out of the PIP scheme and keeping dla as is.

even if they keep to this, children will one day be over 16. and then your sunk.
if you have a disabled child you have to care for them for ever, so it is going to hit a lot of people on here. that is why I hate all the oh it is ok it doesn't affect children stuff.

Sevenfold · 18/02/2012 23:15

2old2beamum sadly your post is probally not so far from what they have planned.
and they could do it as DC can use the fact he had a child with sn to make it all seem ok.

googlenut · 18/02/2012 23:18

I was just concerned that things were happening that I didn't know about.

KalSkirata · 19/02/2012 10:53

PIP is being bought in for children too soon

googlenut · 19/02/2012 13:22

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17087724 This is on the BBC news website today. Works and Pensions select committee critisising new tests for disability.

madhairday · 19/02/2012 17:37

This is just sad that there is not more outrage. Always the same names on these threads, other people don't seem to care. So many are taken in by the vile government/media rhetoric of benefit scroungers getting their due. Them and their free cars.

It's sounding more like the Third Reich by the day, and I am terrified. I also want to work but in a similar position to Hunty where I would be off sick so often no one will ever employ me and even on 'good' days I cannot function at a 'normal' level. Waiting on an ESA assessment outcome, not holding my breath.

Why does no one care about this?

molepom · 19/02/2012 18:28

Dont loose heart Mad.

The current workfare fiasco has also picked up on the fact that those on ESA will be made to do the same, including the disabled and termnially ill..if anything, people are starting to realise more now than they did a week ago about what we are facing. It's slow going but it's getting out there, bit by bit.

By Tesco and the DWP balling up as they have, they have inadvertantly provided another slither of light, highlighting the problems that are coming.

As I said, it's slow going, but it IS getting out there.

2old2beamum · 19/02/2012 18:56

I really hope you are right molepom. I spoke to a friend this morning and she said don't be daft they wouldn't dare. Shakes head in despair.
Mad we all care and that's a start and we will get there. Most people are in denial "we can't have voted in a government that bad"

madhairday · 19/02/2012 18:57

I hope so molepom. There are loads of threads on here about it, but even on them you get the ignorant 'I think UC is a great thing, oh and workfare too' etc who won't listen to people's experience. It just gets me down, you know. You may be right though about the Tesco balls up, it's all over Twitter, I just hope people read and educate themselves about it all. I fear most won't, but I may be being somewhat pessimistic. Keep going, and all that... :)

molepom · 19/02/2012 19:01

sorry, this
