one example
on the news last night there was one person who will no loose her only contact with the outside world as the day centre she uses will close.
another will loose his phisio which will affect his life expectancy.
this is just one example of one council, but it is happening every where, it is a discrace and very short sighted as now more people will have to go into residential care, and that will cost so much more.

Those people who refuse to think otherwise never will, but dont forget there's a lot of others who will. It's just a matter of getting the news to them.

I think the trouble is people don't think it will affect the disabled.
they think that as a parent of a disabled child no way would the PM do that.
the amount of times on mn I have been told it won't affect me.
so I don't think people just don't care, but they can't get their head round the fact that disabled people will be treated so badly.

Interesting molepom

You have to wonder about it all really Grin

Seven that's it, people just don't believe it will - they listen to soundbites about carers being exempt etc but then don't educate themselves about what that really means, ie only carers of those on HR DLA (well PiP soon) and that in itself will be so much narrower and there will be carers out there of seriously ill and disabled people who are only on the lower PIPs if at all - but people don't believe this could happen. Sad

Sadly a lot of people don't care, those who do, firmly believe that cam/osb wouldn't be so cruel to "do it to children" but children grow up.

2old2beamum · 20/02/2012 14:47

Meant to say people don't care because they are not directly involved and therefore don't listen properly.

i think carers will end up in poverty.
worked this out today,
dh/dp goes on JSA now normally he would make a joint claim so DW/DP is covered and children.
but by doing that DW/DP then after 26 weeks can be called to an back to work interview. even though they are not actually looking for work as they are a carer.
now I assume at present the fact you get CA means that doesn't happen(could be wrong) but what about when carers is a UC.
will this be when you end up on workfare.
in which case the dh/dp would have to not make a joint claim.....so less money.
now 26 weeks is a long time to be out of work but with workfare, there will be less jobs, so more likely people will be out of work longer.
