the saddest cuts, that will affect the most vulnerable

one example
on the news last night there was one person who will no loose her only contact with the outside world as the day centre she uses will close.
another will loose his phisio which will affect his life expectancy.
this is just one example of one council, but it is happening every where, it is a discrace and very short sighted as now more people will have to go into residential care, and that will cost so much more.

He actually said he would do nothing to harm families with disabled people. He should be sued for lying.

molepom · 16/02/2012 19:07

Anyone read the link to the Guradian about forcing those on ESA andd the disbabled to work for free...with no maximum time limit?

Link to Guardian Article here

I've seen a twitter posing quoting DC as saying "Just because a cancer patient is dying, doesnt mean we cant use the last of their energy to stock Tesco shelves for free"...I'm just waiting on the link to that quote.

KalSkirata · 16/02/2012 19:38

I saw that article. Forcing people with terminal cancer who are expected to last more than 6 months to be unpaid slaves.
This lot are making the workhouses look reasonable.

molepom · 16/02/2012 19:44

I honestly thought the Government could not sink any lower over the past 2 months..I'm stunned and shocked and disgusted by how wrong I was. I'm too stunned for words.

KalSkirata · 16/02/2012 19:55

child labour next...

molepom · 16/02/2012 20:03

Child labour under a "good work ethic scheme" no doubt.

molepom · 16/02/2012 20:03

Mind you, best not to give them any ideas....

KalSkirata · 16/02/2012 20:05

oh< some republican in the US was banging on about making children work earlier this week. I will try and find the link

KalSkirata · 16/02/2012 20:11

It was Newt Gingrich. Easy enough to find.
here, one of many

SplatSplatSplat · 16/02/2012 20:27

Is it earth mass appealing to Sam? If everyone erode to her, perhaps if an evening she could talk dome sense into Jim? Ask her to imagine how her life would be without the help she receives?

SplatSplatSplat · 16/02/2012 20:27

*worth

SplatSplatSplat · 16/02/2012 20:28

*wrote, some, him.

Sigh.

2old2beamum · 16/02/2012 20:28

We have 5 disabled DC's 3 now youngish adults (all adopted). We are now OAP's our youngest is 6. We get no carers allowance as we get a state pension . Does this fucking government realise we all are saving this country millions no billions of £s by caring for these wonderful but hard work people
I would like Mr & Mrs Cameron/ Osbourne to spend a week in all our shoes. They would not survive. OK Cameron had a son with disabilties but did he and Sam really do the caring? I HATE this lot. I wonder what would happen if we all decided to say take them into care, we could scupper this country.

KalSkirata · 16/02/2012 20:29

Sam? Since when would she actually understand?

worzelswife · 16/02/2012 20:47

I think Sam would understand in that although she's never been there, but I think she looks kind and caring. She's a mum who loves her children.

However, I don't think appealing to her would get anybody anywhere, sadly, as tempting as it would be to go down that route. I can't see that she had any power at all in this situation. The majority of this government is determined to go down this route.

Sevenfold · 16/02/2012 20:53

oh come on, why would she, that is unlikely.
they don't care end off.
this is going to happen and people will suffer

The majority of the country is determined to go down this route.

We are the lepers of today in the UK.

2old2beamum · 16/02/2012 21:02

I live 3 minutes from the sea maybe this government would be happy if we all were pushed/jumped off the end of the pier. I thought Maggie was the pits but this lot beats her hands down!

TheLightPassenger · 16/02/2012 21:09

this is awful, and as sevenfold points out, these sort of cuts will quickly end up costing NHS/SS more.

BertieBotts · 16/02/2012 21:29

This is so upsetting and awful. I am just finding pretty much every announcement, revelation, etc since the election is making me feel more and more depressed.

What do they expect people to do? :(

molepom · 16/02/2012 21:29

I can honestly say, hand on heart, for the first time ever in my life I hope the kids die before I do.

I wish I had migrated when I had the chance even if it was to follow a man who left us for the other side of the planet without a backwards glance.

I fear for the kids future, ds's especially because of his needs.

2old2beamum · 16/02/2012 21:41

molepom I understand your sentiments in your first statement and am totally with you. They ask for so little it makes me weep.

learningtofly · 16/02/2012 21:45

My fear is that these cuts will steer families down the litigation route if only to try and ensure their children's futures are protected and they are provided for throughout life.

Where those families stand where no compensation is payable is anyone's guess.

Sevenfold · 16/02/2012 21:54

arnt they stopping legal aid for medical negligence though?
we have been at it for 11 years!!
