Blandmum · 27/11/2005 17:31

does the shocked look in his eyes really say 'Christ, she expects me to shag her again ?'

Caligyulea · 27/11/2005 17:32

The woman's a poltroon.

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 17:33

OMG - what's with the dungarees?! She needs a visit to the MN Style shop!!!

Good job her dh wants her - she'd be struggling otherwise

ThePrisoner · 27/11/2005 17:43

... she is the one with the glasses and moustache, right?? ...

Blandmum · 27/11/2005 17:52

Is it me, or does he look quite a bit younger than her?

Is that why she is so keen to keep him sweet?

babster · 27/11/2005 18:21

They remind me of Charlie Dimmock and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in that photo. Shame we couldn't see his famous bottom tough. Horrible article.

bea · 27/11/2005 18:25

hee he! iread this article yesterday and thought abbout starting a thread on it... i just thought! HOW BIZARRE!

how can someone be so consumed... she strikes me as a tad looney!

bunny boiler for sure...!!!

suedonim · 27/11/2005 18:26

Hmm, despite having a husband and four kids, I think that silly female doesn't have enough to do. Away and knit some lentils, woman!

aloha · 27/11/2005 18:26

I am giggling away at the high instep and full round bottom. I wonder what his friends think of that description. If I wrote that about dh he'd never leave the house again. Snurk.
Mind you, she has the air of someone who never got laid before her toyboy hove into view.
Hideous article too.
High instep???

blueshoes · 27/11/2005 18:37

bsg · 27/11/2005 18:41

She was on OPrah and made some of the other mothers who were opposed to her views look quite sad as their entire lives resolved around their children and husbands were completely ignored. She said that if one of her children were to die she would be devastated but life would go on however if her husband were to die she would not be able to continue living with out him, his support etc etc. She was a little odd but she is true in what she says about some things. Many women have a hard time with young children and are exhausted at the end of the day therefore their relationships change because of it. I certainly dont give as much attention to dh as i did before i had the children. I dont think she has a healthy outlook on life but she has managed to substain a relationship with her dh which some other people dont manage to do.

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 18:44

No, but those who, unfortunately, don't maintain a relationship with their dp at least put their children above all else - as it should be!

And it is possible to have regular rumpy pumpy AND love your children and put them above all others. I don't think she's hit on an ideal scenario there myself!

Blandmum · 27/11/2005 18:45

She should consider herself farking lucky that her dh puts up with this sort of obesessive behaviour and that he doesn't have a life threatening condition

bsg · 27/11/2005 18:47

I think she is too far to the other extreme. I do feel very sorry for the children but as I said the other mothers that put their children at the top and their husbands were ignored are at the other extreme to her. It is difficult to find a balance.

Tamba · 27/11/2005 18:49

I have regular sex (once a day woohooo lol ) and still love my kids more than anything else in the world!!!!

Yuck. That made me shudder.

Imagine saying you could get over your childrens death (eventually) but not your husbands?? Thanks mum.

She'll be totally fucked if he leaves her then.

mummytosteven · 27/11/2005 19:16

of the Anna Pasternak school of journalism and motherhood. Wonder what her husband makes of the article...

fastasleep · 27/11/2005 19:18

Haven't read all the posts or all the article yet but is it just me who hasn't met one single mum who 'are comfortable with their bodies [and] consider themselves sexual beings'?!?!?

monkeytrousers · 27/11/2005 19:19

Exactly Gobbledigook! And what about the ebbs and flows? Are they not allowed?

LOL Cod. Two you say?

OP posts:
mummytosteven · 27/11/2005 19:20

seriously I'm always a bit suspicious of anyone who is so keen to tell me that they have such a fabulous sex-life - smacks of insecurity it really does.

fastasleep · 27/11/2005 19:27

It makes the sort of vaguely interesting point that men feel comfortable in loving their spouse more than the children but if a woman did she'd have to question it.... not that that's particularly interesting but I'm in a nice optimistic mood...

Also I thought people only said 'god forbid...' in that sarcastic tone that meant they didn't really care...'god forbid he might get food on his clothes' rather than 'god forbid he might become a heroin addict'!

What a not cery well written article about a not very interesting topic - it sounded like she was typing whilst attached to an Ann Summers product throughout most of it!
