Yes, I found this a really strange piece too. If she feels that way, fine, but why write an article for her kids to Google in years to come?
I think she sounds like a ghastly person and I bet she doesn't have lots of female friends.

But, um, can someone please tell me what parping means...I've been too embarassed to ask before now!

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 14:44

OMG she is ODD!

Very scarey to think she'd put her dh before children.

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 14:44

Agree, annie - poor kids.

Gawd, I am an evil/envious/dreadful person
I was reading that thinking, jeez, I hope that she finds out that he has been cheating on her

TheDullWitch · 27/11/2005 14:49

Mad American

colditz · 27/11/2005 14:49

I bet her children know it too. I did, as a child. It is a horrible feeling knowing, when you are 8, that if dad goes mad and and drags you round by the hair, your mother won't protect you. Not because she is frightened, but because she loves this man more than she loves you.

i feel a bit sorry for her kids.

The kids must sense it I adore my dp and we are still really into each other romantically(sometimes!)but ds is the love of both our lives and some of the things she is saying are evil

colditz · 27/11/2005 14:54

What I mean is, Dad never really hurt me, just frightened me. What left the scars was my mother always backing him up, and knowing why....

edam · 27/11/2005 14:54

Apparently she's written a whole book about how much she loves her husband - wonder who on earth will buy it?

I gave up after the first couple of paragraphs. and she got paid for writing that drivel presumably!

annie, parping is a term coined by cod a couple of months ago, it is when you see a thread that you feel strongly about and you just know that you will flame all over it and get into total war...so you keep a hooter next to the computer and parp it to warn yourself to just walk away from the thread before you make a complete fool of yourself and darent come back to mumsnet until everyone has forgotten.

wessexgirl · 27/11/2005 14:57

LOL, Spagblog, that would be too funny.

Just read this in the magazine. I say 'just read'...I got as far as her husband's 'full round bottom' and could only skim after that.

She has a bit of a problem I think.

SenoraPostrophe · 27/11/2005 14:57

I had to force myself to read a bit more. think she's over analysing and neurotic (why is not thinking a newborn is beutiful evidence of not loving it? babies aren't beautiful)

colditz - were you really that insightful at 8? or was it that obvious? must have been horrible

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 14:58

Is she trying to convince herself I wonder?!

She's just too wierd!

foundintranslation · 27/11/2005 15:03

I read this yesterday and do feel sorry for her children. And wonder whether she maybe protesteth too much re. her dh's sexiness.

foundintranslation · 27/11/2005 15:03

great minds gdg!

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 15:04

That's what I mean

Gobbledigook · 27/11/2005 15:04

Hehe - keep x-posts!

wessexgirl · 27/11/2005 15:04

There's a picture of him in the Guardian.
