Just seen that the Supreme Court have ruled that she cannot return to the UK, her Appeal has been unsuccessful.

Totally agree @Rosie2111

MrsBotibolsCruise · 26/02/2021 17:47

Well said @Rosie2111. Right on the money.

quarentini · 26/02/2021 17:48

A 15 year old goes of to become the bride of a isis member, it all goes tits up and she's not sorry about what she did but is now pissed off she can't come back .

Literally who cares!
She can't even fake an apology to try and get back home.
She can wallow in what ever shit hole she is stuck in and cry me a river !

Unfucked · 26/02/2021 17:48

Jihadi Jack wasn’t a juvenile at the time of his offences.

No one is defending her and saying what she was right - they are saying she should be punished in the UK because she is British.

This.

StarlightandSunlight · 26/02/2021 17:49

@Rosie2111 have you any profit that her father took part in extreamist marches etc?

StarlightandSunlight · 26/02/2021 17:50

*proof even not profit

Sunnyday321 · 26/02/2021 17:51

Even if she was ' white Lucy ' I still believe the right decision was made to bar her from re-entry to the UK .

ShaneTheThird · 26/02/2021 17:53

The only human rights that have been violated are the ones of her husbands victims and the victims of the organisation she willingly joined. (and possibly the 3 babies if they did in fact exist.)

As others have pointed out she has never shown any remorse. None. Not even to say she was sorry or it was wrong, despite having numerous opportunities with her interviews.

randomer · 26/02/2021 17:53

Would it all have been more palatable if she had pulled a sad face and read a preparared Im so Sorry statement?

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 17:53

Make your mind up. Is the issue age or is it citizenship? And how can it be racism when Letts has had the same treatment?
Blankscreen · 26/02/2021 17:54

I don't want her back in the country.

We've had enough terror attacks from people on the watch list who slipped through - we don't need another one

How a 15 year old girl thought it was a good idea to go and join ISIS shows in my mind she is pure evil.

Let her stay out there and rot.

Stratfordplace · 26/02/2021 17:55

Unmarkedbythat the principles of justice and the right to a fair trial that she abandoned by joining, and continuing to support, a terrorist organisation?

MrsBotibolsCruise · 26/02/2021 17:56

I agree that she shouldn’t have had her citizenship revoked in the first place and that she should be brought back to the UK to face justice. Not for her sake but for that of whichever poor country has to deal with the fallout of housing her (probably less able to put in place the security and monitoring measures than we are).

Syria didn’t ask for this. The least western countries can do is resume responsibility for their home-grown terrorists.

ChancesWhatChances · 26/02/2021 17:56

@toocold54 but why would you want to treat her as British when she doesn’t wish Britain to be British? She fundamentally disagrees with the British way of life, she actively left the country to join a terrorist organisation that is sworn to eradicate western civilisation. She is an active threat to this country, the same as any other terrorist of any race or religion. It might be extremely British to wish to treat a terrorist the way you’d like to be treated, but it’s also extremely stupid.

Keepcountingyourfingers · 26/02/2021 17:57

@cuddlymunchkin

I think it's a good result.
Absolutely.
ChancesWhatChances · 26/02/2021 17:57

Do I get a gold star for saying Britain and British so many times?

toocold54 · 26/02/2021 17:59

We've had enough terror attacks from people on the watch list who slipped through - we don't need another one

But she is one of our own that slipped through too.
We dropped the ball, we didn’t notice she was being radicalised and we didn’t notice when she ran off to another country to join a terrorist gang - so why should another country pay for our mistake?

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 18:01

Jack Lettt’s father is absolutely infuriating on this Channel 4 clip for exactly that reason. (He speaks from about 3.30 onwards.)

Won’t even acknowledge the hypocrisy or even irony of demanding justice and human rights for his Daesh son.

Just bangs on and on about Jack’s “rights” with no nod at all to what his son was part of. It’s really unpalatable, and makes me quite angry, even if we can all understand the parental instinct at play.

toocold54 · 26/02/2021 18:01

but why would you want to treat her as British when she doesn’t wish Britain to be British?

@ChancesWhatChances I don’t think she should get a say - she is what she is, who cares what her preference is.

twelly · 26/02/2021 18:02

At 15 she made a huge error, she was influenced by adults who persuaded her to go abroad. She was a child.

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 18:02

@ChancesWhatChances

Do I get a gold star for saying Britain and British so many times?
Star

I’m having the same trouble having this conversation without writing “citizenship” five times each paragraph. Smile

randomer · 26/02/2021 18:04

What on earth are you talking about, she doesn't want Britain to be British? What does want it to be then?

toocold54 · 26/02/2021 18:06

I think that was a typo
