Just seen that the Supreme Court have ruled that she cannot return to the UK, her Appeal has been unsuccessful.

OP posts:
Ostryga · 26/02/2021 16:40

SHE CAN STILL BE GIVEN HER CITIZENSHIP BACK, SHE HAS ONLY LOST THE RIGHT TO COME BACK TO THE U.K. FOR THE COURT CASE.

Please actually read the article

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 16:40

No I haven’t, but in that case it was the right decision. If she still holds those views why does she want to live in Britain? confused

Because she thinks infidels and homosexuals and Shiite Muslims and Yazidi women and apostates deserve rape and torture and murder but she she should have safety and human rights.

ChancesWhatChances · 26/02/2021 16:41

@RickiTarr you’re wasting your breathe, some people are determined to make this about race and not about keeping self confessed terrorists out of this country (and therefore making sure none of them end up dead because of terrorism).

ChancesWhatChances · 26/02/2021 16:41

Are you ok? Take a deep breath. Okay. He wasn’t a child when he left the UK. He wasn’t groomed as a child.

You’re probably right but I’m horrified .

It’s absolutely evil to use this case to perpetrate more inter-racial tension. I can’t fathom the motivation and the ignorance behind this.

We need to stop the cycle of hate.

AllMyPrettyOnes · 26/02/2021 16:44

@ginswinger

If I was held eternally accountable as an adult for every stupid thing I did as a 15 year old, that would be a frightening prospect
You're comparing trivial teenage mistakes to running off and joining a terrorist organisation? Really?
Cam77 · 26/02/2021 16:45

@RedGoldAndGreene
Sally Jones was born in 1968 and became radicalized when she was 35 years old. Not 14/15 years old.

Numicon · 26/02/2021 16:45

I know @AllMyPrettyOnes, nicking lipstick from boots and spreading a nasty rumour about Kelly the slag is a far cry from joining ISIS.

She seems ill. Out of it,disconnected,drugged?

Cam77 · 26/02/2021 16:48

I just disagree with removing people’s citizenship for crazy shit they did as children. Punish, reform whatever. But removing citizenship is nothing more than an abdication of responsibility by the state.

No I’m not happy at all with the way this issue is being used to foment further divisions.

Letts & Begum were both teenagers.

She was 15/16 he was 18/19, I believe.

They were way past the age of criminal responsibility. They both lied and stole from their families and snuck off and caught flights in secrecy.

Both had seen propaganda before they left that depicted the brutality of the Daesh regime.

Neither are being left stateless.

They’re equally culpable and they’re being treated identically by the British government. There are other cases coming up behind.

What would remorse look like?

Because to me those comments are no different to people who decry victims of violent offences for not behaving how they think a traumatised person should behave based on ignorance and myths. "She's too emotional / emotionless / too quiet / too talkative / using the wrong tense / too vague / too detailed / she smiled / she didn't smile / why didn't she scream or run away - I don't believe her" .

It's all ignorant, judgemental bullshit that leads to the kind of situation a pp alluded to where abuse victims are not believed by the legal system because they did not perform.

So what performance were those claiming she's not remorseful expecting?

And how much are your views based on the misogynistic narrative you have been fed by the press?

She said the Manchester bombing was justified. I think that gives quite a clear indication that she is not full of remorse.

The sun is out, it’s nearly spring, covid cases & deaths are down, we have now vaccinated 19 million people and the Supreme Court has upheld the government’s decision to strip a fanatical dangerous terrorist who would blow you and your children into tiny pieces given half a chance, of her British citizenship.

Today is a good day. Smile

@RickiTarr
Perhaps you should direct your ire toward media such as the Sun and the the Mail, which have revelled in stirring up racial hatred, Islamaphobia and anti-immigration rhetoric for decades rather than people believing that a person who became radicalized as a child deserves a chance at rehabilitation.

What about the stuff they continue to do as adults?

There are security service assessments of all these people that are not public.

The Daesh returnees to western countries represent a major terrorism threat and a major source of future onwards radicalisation.

Do you honestly think MI6 & MI5 are in the pay of the far right? There is a serious future security issue here, and if there is an element of “to discourage the others” too then it’s hardly surprising. We are facing an emergency.

toocold54 · 26/02/2021 16:54

Although I obviously don’t agree with her actions, I think those that are saying she is old enough to know better/wasn’t given drugs or alcohol etc need to research how manipulative these recruiters are.
They are trained in behaviour and what tactics to use depending on someone’s personality. They are able to trick grown men into their cult so a 15 year old child would have been extremely easy.

We only have to look at religious cults where parents allow their children to be abused or take part in mass suicides packs etc to understand how easy it is to be brainwashed.
I’m not saying she is faultless as she still needs to take responsibility for her actions but it isn’t just black and white.

DemolitionBarbie · 26/02/2021 16:54

We shouldn't be removing people's citizenship for any reason. We can't just foist off our own home grown terrorists onto other countries. They should be punished, but just dumping people into developing countries who have less resource to deal with them is massively wrong.

Besides the horrible, racist implication to non white British people that they can never truly, fully British because your citizenship could be removed at the behest of the government.

FedNlanders · 26/02/2021 16:54

@GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman

I thought the issue wasn't so much that she had been radicalised, but that she was unrepentant and regarded as a terror threat.

No, I believe she was fifteen years old when she left Britain, unless all the reports are incorrect. Not 15/16.

JellyBabiesFan · 26/02/2021 16:55

Perhaps is she was actually sorry I might have some sympathy. As it stands its great news.

Maybe you should stop being a patronising ninny?

I apportion blame for various things to various people, as I see it, and unfortunately the list of people stirring up hatred is very long.

We’re allowed hold opinions on several separate issues simultaneously. They’re not on ration
