Morning all
Need my list fix before the day gets going.
Ruby We are doing the same. I just made sure it had a kids club run by English staff so DH & DS will feel okay. Might not put Ds in the kids club but as it has one, we know there will be lots of children for him to play with.
MickyLee She is probably a fellow MN & flyer and has figured out from your perfume of various cleaning products Ops! Am I being dismissive of the mystical arts! Still nice to get positive vibes back
Dyls My ds was so ready for school. Again positive vibes and she'll be fine come September.

Well the fallout from the printer crisis and ds2 project school trip yest and general chaos is that dd is now refusing to go to school -

Suddenly felt unable to wrestle with screaming malingering child and kept her at home till lunch

Spent two hours this morning sorting printer on helpline (VERY HELPFUL EPSOM MAN) the problem was that the kids had pressed print so often that file backed up inside laptop ifysim..rather than printer itself...

anyway printer's working again
done singing practice with dd - disney songs so we are warbling away together
3 loads of laundry
[ds2 wet his bed for second night running]
made pile of possible ironing
recycling out
bin out
dw on
bathroom cleared but not cleaned
ds1 violin practice
ds2 piano practice

ML enjoy your Dad's visit
Dyls school's fine, it's all the blooming things you have to remember that's not
bit of paper, reading books, money for ths money for that...ah well, good fun really. Other parents are always fun too!

dylsmum1998 · 11/06/2010 11:17

Nutty, my ds was ready when he started school, but dd takes longer to settle to things and trust people so seperation is very hard for her. I have told her that she will be going I'll take her in class then I have to come away etc etc to prepare her.
Learning wise I think she is ready for school, she has taken a book to nursery with her today and sat in the back of the car trying to sound out the words to read it to me while I drove .
I do feel better now I phoned the school and its mostly the same staff as were there when ds went to the school, they even remembered him and asked how he was etc.
I am trying very hard to be positive about it so that dd doesn't pick up on my worries.

must go and get on with the list, want to have time after school to play and have fun as dd is staying at her dads tonight and tomorrow night, she normally only stays the sat night, but I am off to a conference early tomorrow so makes it easier all round if he has her tonight as well.

scattyspice · 11/06/2010 17:23

swan yes I had that trouble too!

MC My DS was the worst child ever going into school, it took until 1/2 way through yr1 before he would go in without crying . Loved it once he got through the door, just hated separating from me. The teachers were great, they are used to it.

Have been dashing about as usual. Have multiple activities/parties tomorrow, I am bound to take the wrong child to the wrong place at the wrong time (with the wrong stuff)!

swanriver · 11/06/2010 19:57

Hi, we are havign a v.relaxing Friday eve, playing in garden, Salade Nicoise, soo looking forward to lack of plans first thing tomorrow, (except I am singlehandedly checkng into a hotel with dcs near Legoland on Sat eve trying not to think about it [gulp]

ds1 has been watching football!

scatty we onlyhave one party tomorrow...
I think I am partied out though..

MickyLee · 11/06/2010 20:24

dyls I hope your DD settles ok and not too hard for you. To be honest when my DD started nursery i went with her for the entire first week.. the staff thought i was nuts but i didn't care as i long as DD was ok. I know how you feel.

swan at least the printer is working again now

Today was not bad.. did the family visits etc.

Tomorrow going to baby group in the morning then market in the afternoon. I have to give the place a quick once over and get prepared for my dad coming. He arrives at 3.20 sunday morning so won't get here until about 6am.. he will be really tired and sleeping on the sofabed in the lounge.. as DC are early risers i can't imagine he will get chance to get to bed. Maybe i should take DC to the park in the afternoon so he can get his head down for a few hours.. bloody night flights!!

swanriver · 11/06/2010 21:27

oh dear ds2 has come down with something...thought it was all a bit too quiet. will have to rethink tomorrow, party, train etc..at least dh was never coming on outing so he could stay with ds2 if I still take others...

ML yes it is so difficult to keep house quiet for sleeping guests.

dylsmum1998 · 11/06/2010 21:45

Micky I did that with dd, although the nursery were fantastic as I told them before she started that she was not one to walk straight in to some where new and get oon with it. She took a while to settle to nursery and still has wobbles now, usually after holidays even though she has been there 2 years.

Swan hope ds2 isn't too poorly for Legoland- mine loved it the other week and keep asking to go back

Scatty parties were hard work negotiating when ds was younger and started school and he was an only child then, let alone having several different children with parties to get too- good luck

swanriver · 12/06/2010 07:55

Ds2 was very hot last night, and complaining of feeling ill, but seems to have slept it off. So I think Legoland still likely. In the process he has now wet our bed as well as his the night before..

Grey morning here - a sort of sticky feeling everywhere that may or not be helped by soap and water I need to get the mop out!

Makingchanges · 12/06/2010 11:07

Morning all

I'm sure I posted yesterday - I think my posts are being deleted by the mumsnet fairy (Or i'm forgetting to press post which is more likely)

Anyway - I went to the gym last night and didn't leave until nearly 10pm when it closed - I have never done that before - but thats what football on TV does for me. DH was asleep on the settee when I got home and when I tried to wake him he just shouted at me and went back to sleep so I left him there he skulked upstairs about 2am this morning.

DD was invited yesterday to a party today so had to go to 24 hour tescos on way home for last minute present - its one of the neighbours who we don't really know but she has been playing with them recently.

I have just come back from the hairdressers - had it thinned out considerably (I have thick irritating hair) so am feeling better for that - ust get a list for jobs for today

Back with list in a min

Nuttybear · 12/06/2010 12:36

Afternoon all Swan Hope Ds is feeling better and able to go to Legoland.
MC Blimey! You are pushing forward! 10pm! well done! I went in the morning and then swimming in the afternoon while ds had his lesson. I cannot go to my last big holiday looking this lumpy. I do find diets really hard to follow as I don't like cooking new receipes. I have a good diet I'll just have less pasta and simple carbs and eat more veg. Not doing to well this morning as I've had a biscuit, fruit cake (only a small bit) and toast with peanut butter. I don't think its rocket science to see where I'm going wrong. School fair this afternoon I'll try and be good.
So I made cupcakes last night. I did butter cream icing Wow! I have never made butter cream frosting before. It has sooo much butter
Back in a mo with a list. have a good weekend every one.
