evening all,
Swan at ratatouille outfits and helemt rescuing!

Wendy I have strange dreams without being pregnant

MC good luck with the exam

Mickey no control journal here.

Have been in school today, found out that the school I went to for a GTP interview last month wanted me, they phoned the school I volunteer in to confirm my application form. However, when they contacted me they never said this, just there was an issue within the school and had to withdraw from training prgramme. Am gutted, but nice to know that they would have employed me but am feeling rather more disappointed now.

On plus note I got my last two assignment results today, both firsts .

all the housework I have done today is wash up. Will do everything else tomorrow, althought o be honest have done so much earlier in the week doesn't look like it needs anything, just some washing done

scattyspice · 09/06/2010 19:58

Dyls - its great to know that they wanted you. Well done on the firsts - thats fantastic.

Mickeylee no running - I have had to have physio on a dodgy knee and hip and unfortunately my hip has been playing up this weekend so we ended up giving it a rest. Been on very high level on cross trainer instead and on a strange hanging contraption - hoping to be able to run tomorrow or friday as race is next weekend. Chat and choccie cake sounds fab

ruby welcome back - fantastic neighbours sorting your gas leak out for you.

Exam - Mmmm not sure -think it went ok, had a mind blank in middle which isn't good when you are being filmed and had to ask to for something to be repeated but hopefully did enough to pass.

Right chilling out with a curly wurly (only choccie I'll allow myself on weightwatches) and a non-alcoholic beer not quite hitting the spot but at 2.5 points total it will have to do!

BB tomorrow

swanriver · 09/06/2010 21:50

Horrid chaotic afternoon since pickup
struggled through
happy piano lesson ds2but then...
buying lunchbox ingredients with heavy bags in tow football stickers dd and ds1
brownies beavers and dodgeball, saluting and picking and dropping off
forging the last bit of dd's project o have dh tell me it looks definitely forged
and everyone going much too late to bed

house still mess, and need to now make lunchboxes for school trip tomorrow, THANK GOD they haven't asked me to come too. I could not have borne it.
Better day tomorrow, no, it won't be because I have to finish Ds2's project

OverflowingMum · 09/06/2010 21:53

aaarrrggghh

horrendously busy day. Nothing bad really, but just feel pulled in 500 different directions for about 20 hours a day.....

feeling V grumpy and overwhelmed...house a tip, always forgetting vital things (forgot "Izzy" the travelling nursery soft toy dog today...cue V upset 4 yr old dd)....must go and sleep to restore calm serene loving Mummy by the morning...
Wish there was 3 of me LOL

will catch up with thread tomorrow.

dylsmum1998 · 09/06/2010 21:54

Ruby fantastic neighbours sorting the leak

MC am sure exam is better than you think

Swan you are very good doing dc projects- I'm a mean mummy and make ds do his himself, I will help and advise if i must, but he has to do it

swanriver · 10/06/2010 00:38

I know it's late, but just tidied and cleaned kitchen so feeling refreshed

MC one of little girls at party on Sun said they are not allowed to talk at break in [posh]school so they all use sign language she seemed to be semi-fluent..one way to get the gift!

OFM schools are so annoying aren't they, sending these wretched pets home!!![and projects to cause scenes
big hug for messy house, I know how it gets one down and ensuing muddle and feeling like nothing is working but you ARE DOING BRILLIANTLY

Dyls fantastic results, sorry to have not mentioned it before
I know I should let dd and ds2 do their own projects. Only this project is impossible to do singlehandedly, as it involves walking round local area taking pictures and then reading obscure history website which no 7/8 year old could ever understand and gleaning essential info from it. Ah well, ds2 did enjoy the graveyard bit. Now if it were butterflies or tigers or Vikings one could at least find a book designed for children...hmm Also my mother NEVER helped me with projects and I hated doing them and never finished them, whereas my aunty always helped my cousins, and their projects were brilliant [grr] and they even did projects just for FUN in the summer hols...

anyway feeling better now after that little outburst, off to bed, positive vibes to all

dylsmum1998 · 10/06/2010 08:20

Swan I didn't mean to sound critical of you doing your dc projects - was wondering if I was being too harsh on my ds by not helping him more

Today I have;
breakfast
ds lunch
wash up
tidy kitchen
tidy living room
dust
hoovered through downstairs and on the stairs
washing out

to do
mission
s&s bathrooms
get washing in- its bloody raining again! but have decided to leave washing til I get back from school run its wet now anyway!

Am home with dd today, she is playing with ds at the moment, but she asked last night if we can make a treasure map today so will do that at some point today

off to school drop off now

Morning all
dyls Well done, sweetie. That an acheviement when you've got kids and a house to run. & School projects my DH helps his students out so much so that they can pass exams. I wonder if they are being educated at all. I really want to lay the ingrediants out for DS and let him get on with it but, I don't think that's how its done anymore. I think the adults just get re-educated. I could have done with more help with my spelling tho!

Ruby Where in Menorca did you go? We are going to Arenal d'en Castell, it will be our last hurrah before camping in uk forever more after that.
I have read most of the thread, sorry can't say hello to everyone as I must get on.

OP posts:
swanriver · 10/06/2010 10:31

Dyls not at all harsh, I think the problem in our house is that we are not computer literate and I can't make technical things WORK, which in turn upsets the children when they try and do things themselves on the computer. I'm now in desperation going to pay a friend who is ex-IT specialist to come round (but not alas for two weeks) and give me special sessions in how to do stuff like cut and paste, export things to Word from internet etc, and install printer etc, upload photos.

Now need to go to work.
Dcs lunchboxes and raincoats found for trip!
Had coffee with a friend on way from school.
Dd's project handed in, got her to re-write last bit herself - think she is very proud of it - there is a big door on the front saying "Knock Knock" 1905! and she had bright idea of cutting out a doorknocker!

Nutty just talking about Kingston with the IT friend who used to live there. She said when she lived there she was the age when she wished she lived in Soho, but now she's of the age where Kingston would be perfect in every way (only her mum's here in A)

Nuttybear · 10/06/2010 11:10

Swan I did something right in my life then. I lived in Soho when I was 25-28 yrs I love Soho is my place to go for a night out. I'm not sure where you live but if you fancy a meet-up there? I'm all for it. Anyone else fancy a red-light night out?
Chat later must crack on.

Morning all

No time to catch up will have to do that later. Have spent all morning playing doctors and nurses and the attention seems to be working on DD - lots of cuddles and smiles so far! Its first day back at nursery today and I am so excited to have 2 hours to myself this afternoon (even if I will be doing housework)

To DO

  • Wash DHs cricket whites [holding nose emoticon] - Need to have the talk again about him washing his own sticky cricket whites (And gym clothes at the moment too - yuck)
  • find DDs unifrom trousers - have found everything else
  • to shop to replace DDs headband
  • sort out fridge - need to see what is left for rest of weeks meals as I know I didn't buy everything for end of week to ensure I didn't throw away
  • Make a list of packing to do for holiday - I have full days everyday next week so need to be organised
  • DD to nursery
  • DD to ballet class
  • hoover through downstairs
  • clean kitchen side off
  • fold and put away clean clothes
  • file and store my sign language notes - quite upset at not being able to fit in 2nd year next year and missing all my mates but guess PGCE overall is more important

That will do for now

Nuttybear · 10/06/2010 11:45

Tea break and i haven't put the timer on! I must be good and only spend 15mins.
MC I found that the other day I spent 1 hour making a lego robot with DS and he was in a very good mood with me after. But I could only do that as I knew Lovely Mum was coming around (she made lentil soup)& he had a playdate which would let me get on with other stuff. I now understand why women in the 50's wanted to live in the same road as their Mum's and aunt's. I would love ds to be able to play in our street with neighbours across the road but the road too busy for that Maybe I'll invite the two neighbours around they are the same sort of age but due to the traffic and different schools will never play together maybe I can change that. (Sorting out my own head online there pls ignore)
Right back with done list and added-ons

Nuttybear · 10/06/2010 11:47

Hala all

Having a shitty week, so will not drag you all down with me, but I have a competition on the blog to win a flash drive and 6 months free storage - well 3 flash drives. Ends today come and have a look, all you need to do is leave a comment here

Makingchanges · 10/06/2010 13:44

Right

  • DD deposited at nursery
  • Been to shop couldn't get headband that DD wanted but did managed to get my dads and Dhs father's day bits (forgot card and wrapping papper but easily rectified). Also got myself a pair of trousers for my holiday whoops
  • cricket whites washed so can get onwith other bits now

Back later this evening probably

swanriver · 10/06/2010 14:00

Have bought a printer - thanks Scatty, now just going to try and install! hope I do not end up like Mike TVee.

also been to garden centre again to beat the blues...and bought loads more compost.

nutty I am nearish you, but a bit reclusive/useless at organising redhot things at present. Alas my Piccadilly Circus days are past and maundering home on the 94 bus I have your email though..will think about possible westerly venues Richmond Kew etc. Neighbours dcs v.g antidote to school friends I find. We have three lots we keep up with.

TM I've left comment
sounds absolutely foul situation x

dylsmum1998 · 10/06/2010 14:33

Nutty I often wonder what it would be like to live in same streets as my sisters so the children could all play out together. As it stands we live 260+ miles apart

Swan good luck sorting out printer

TM have left comment, don't know words to make you feel better, but really do hope thiings ease up for you soon x

dd and I have been out to the park, and found some elderflowers, have come home and made elderflower cordial together. We kinda mixed nd matched a few recipes I found online as I want to avoid anything citrus in it as dd won't be able to have it then. So will have to see how no citrus eldeflower cordial turns out- hopefully well

We then had a picnic on the living room rug- so must go and hoover now as its rather messy.

Nuttybear · 10/06/2010 15:10

Right a cuppa before meeting DS and taking him to a party.
Get details of car seat to sell Lost
Stuff for packed lunch & tea done
Load W/M x 3
Find stuff to fix curtain rail. Done
Dust hall of cobwebs done
Brought stuff to make bread so might do that tonight in a machine I haven't used for years due to our small kitchen.
Swan No worries. I'm someone that is an aquired taste. My friends think I'm very funny as I often say the wrong things to people out of the blue. Which amuses them! I am also crap at fix dates to go anywhere.
Must dash. laters

Aargh printer already malfunctioning, not quite on the woody allen pudding level but has stalled completely. It did print several pages though and I have used them to great effect on ds2's project and got him to scrawl things in red feltip on top

however it is definitely not working now 2 mins alone with dd was enough.

chaos again, dh has returned feeling ill again, project finished leaving trail of mess in its wake.

nutty I will definitely email you when my husband is in a better mood

swanriver · 10/06/2010 19:18

nutty I am also well known for saying the wrong things
