Oh HMHB I know! I don't for one minute think anything will come of it (single mum of 2 hardly a great catch!)but I'm just happy that I can actually find someone attractive after everything...Think its a combination of him being good looking, friendly AND good with kids that does it. Will be over it by tomorrow

Alicetheinvisible · 10/02/2010 17:54

Mmmmm....I really fancy pie and mash now.

Have a bit of a thing for flaky pastry at the moment.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 10/02/2010 18:07

Mmm we had pies too. Not home made though Plum.

Rustling up a dinner on short notice when you've got to go out is no mean feat.

I am suddenly feeling absolutely knackered. Was supposed to be having a quiet time this week but went out to ante natal Pilates then popped round to mates who is feeling a bit poorly, then did some shopping then got back, fed DD, fetched DS from nursery school and made dinner.

DH is asking what I want for valentines day. After him going away last week I should be able to ask for something major but I can't think of anything. .

Any ideas?

Alicetheinvisible · 10/02/2010 18:09

Nice meal out without the kids?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 10/02/2010 18:09

Evening everyone

Snitch - Wasting is right, you had done some things this morning so therefore the day is not a failure.

JKS - hope the counsellor went ok, have a lovely few days away!

HMHB - can DH take over all duties for the day on Sunday so that all you have to do is BF DD? And get him to take DS out for a couple of hours while DD is napping so that you can have a nice bath and a glass of wine in peace?

Plum - omg nightmare, am rather in awe of your rustled meals though!

Hmm - sounds good Ali. We also have the option of going to PIL next week who have nice big house and will look after DS and maybe babysit. I'm just feeling so tired can't think of anything except imminent stint on sofa (poss with duvet) with wood burner going (freezing here).

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/02/2010 18:55

Well bugger me sideways. I was doing so well with my little list. The things that I thought would be guaranteed to be done (coffee and mumsnet) didnt get done, this is the first time ive been online today!

My Grandmother is getting worse. She is talking to my cousin who isnt there (and hasnt been to visit her for about 6 years aswell ) and trying to give her money.
She thinks my DS is playing in the garden with no coat or hat etc on and she berating me for letting him. So I spent most of my time down there.

So anyway my list so far...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/02/2010 18:58

See it looks like ive done really well, but I havent. Ive realised all those dones are necessities like feeding 7week old DD.
So im not going to include those in future lists.

Tomorrows list is most likely going to be just...

DS to nursery.
Go to Grandmas.
Pick DS up from nursery.
Go back to Grandmas.
Go home, make dinner.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 10/02/2010 19:05

Ferret - similar happened to my Grt Gran. She told us that they made her scrub the floor in her home. Bless her. It's hard to listen to though. Chin up.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 10/02/2010 19:33

Getting dressed when you have a 7 week old is an achievement Ferret!

FreakFanciesTheWindowCleaner · 10/02/2010 20:33

Ferret no you have to include the feeding, it takes up so much time, especially when they are that tiny. It's not as though it is something you can just not do in order to get on with other stuff...

about your grandma

wastingaway · 10/02/2010 21:10

Ferret. It's lovely that you can spend time with her.
I think of my list as a record of what I've accomplished in a day as well as a reminder of what to do. Sort of like filling in a timesheet for an employer.
I used to spend most of the day sitting with DS either feeding or asleep on me, wouldn't nap anywhere else.
I may not have done anything exciting or unusual, but it was very important.

HMHB, any of those options sounds good.

Ali, have you tried fleece nappy liners? (from her who's had DS in disps for a fortnight )

Plum, you impromptu dinner sounds better than what I had last night - a cheese sandwich, a garlic baguette, some Pombears and grapes.

cariboo · 10/02/2010 21:49

me too! It sounds heavenly to be able to slump in bed all day but I feel like death warmed up & hideously guilty to boot! plus I've "lost control" of my household - arghh!

ToccataAndFudge · 10/02/2010 21:59

oh poo. Went to take DS3 to bed at 8pm and fell asleep - should have been back downstairs to study by 8.30 - instead came down 20 minutes ago and have only just woken up enough to have some chips and a coffee.

Not sure there's any point in proper studying tonight, I'm not going to "get with it" enough I don't think grrr - that'll be 2 nights in a row I've not done anything,

Anyhow, just to update list of what I have done.

Wasting I've got some fleece liners, but only 12 so not quite enought. Plus, I prefer to use paper when we're out and about so I can just flush the lot!

Ferret - about your Grandma. Mine was the same, I once went to see her in hospital after she had (another) stroke and she thought I was my Mum and that I was having an affair with DH . Also kept asking when my uncle would be back from his music lesson which would have been about 55 years previously. I'm glad you are able to spend some time with her now, it's very precious.
And yes you must leave the feeding on the list, it tells you why you haven't done much else!

Cariboo - hope you feel better tomorrow
