November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 04/11/2009 21:20

Rainbow - DD only just settled but will go to bed shortly don't you worry.

JKS - well done for seeing the doc. V brave of you and a v positive step. Hope the meds kick in soon.

CWWM - 6 months old wow.

CC - scout leader! impressive and also brave!

I just had to let DD cry a bit as I have been feeding her loads this eve and couldn't stick it anymore and don't want her to suckle herself to sleep on me all the time. I felt really bad and had a bit of a cry myself but 3 mins (seeming like 10/15 mins though) later she was fast asleep . So maybe it was for the best.

Buda · 05/11/2009 06:29

Morning! It is a rainy morning here in Budapest. In fact it may well be sleet but I am in denial. Esp as I haven't got my winter tyres on yet! Wonder will DH let me have his car this morning after the wing mirror incident?

He is not going into office today as was in US since Sunday and spent 23 hours travelling back yesterday. And his car has all-weather tyres which will be better if it IS sleet.

Was out for a friend's birthday last night. It was eventful. One girl who I had never met before had to rush home as her DD was ill and struggling to breathe. And then one of my friends had a coughing/choking fit and semi-threw up almost over the table next to us. I felt so sorry for her. She was . Feeling slightly fragile this morning but not too bad as I drank loads of water.

Have a meeting with the Head of Primary at DS's school at 8.30 to discuss why, after 5 years and an EXTORTIONATE amount of money, we are now told that DS is 'under-achieving' in maths and literacy.

JKS - hope you start to feel better. I think ADs can take about 2 weeks to kick in.

HI all

Alibaba - I know! Meeting went ok. Apparently they decided to assess all children at beginning of year in line of SATs which is very flawed etc etc. Anyway. Meeting again next week and DS's work from last year will be looked at and other opinions sought etc. It is all very odd here as it is a small school and very incestuous and everyone knows everyone else. DS's teacher this year is the Head of Primary's partner! I do know the Head of Primary quite well - have gotten drunk together on occasion! It is all very odd as I said before. And it has it's good points and bad points. I did feel he was being totally honest and I know him well enough to be honest in return.

Done:
Bin out
DS up and organised for school
Take DS to school
School meeting
Instructed solicitor re house purchase
Emailed estate agent re solicitor
Had chat with DH as hadn't seen him since Saturday

Welcome back mumof2 - A&E? Everyone ok? May have little bonfire if weather ok. DS only 3 so not too bothered. No big bonfires locally.

DD was good last night in the end and had 3 short feeds in the night (11, 2am, 4am and 6.30am) so I got some sleep in between (hurrah). DH still in same room which is a lot better too.

CC Are you crazy?? Feel free to copy any part of my list!!

I have read though, but now I am typing I can't remember what I wanted to say!!

I won't be listing today, I have just had some bad news from my mum, that my Grandad is very poorly and the hospital have asked relatives to come in, he has been in hospital since the middle of the summer and has deteriorated gradually. I'm am just waiting for my DH to bring my car back (as his is off the road) and then I will be going to the hospital.

My friends are taking care of my DC, my 3 year old DD keeps asking about Grandad and saying 'when is he coming home'. How do explain to her that he isn't??

I don't know what will be happening tonight now.
