November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

DS just did his first poo on the potty [proud]

SparklyAlice · 27/11/2009 12:25

Yay for DS clairy How old is he?

How are you getting on?

Can i have just a tiny moan?

Next weekend DH and DD are going to FIL's for the weekend so that the downstairs carpet can be ripped up, floor sanded and varnished etc. DH hates dIY, so the only way i could get him to agree to it was if i do it and my dad. Been organised for a while now.

So, i rung my dad to finalise etc and now he doesn't think he can do it because he said to his brother ages ago (apparently) that he would help him out that weekend.

Now, i am cross, but can't blame my dad as he is the most disorganised person you would ever meet. He isn't late for stuff, he just forgets all about them iyswim? His brother's wife is right old cow, and we had a falling out a couple of years ago. I know that my dad will help his brother over me simply because it will lead to a quieter life. She is more than likely to stop speaking to anyone if they don't do as she says.

So now, it is looking likely that next weekend i will be doing the horses, then pulling up the carpet (by myself) sanding the floor (by myself) then back to the horses, then babysitting in the evening, then varnishing the floor the next day (by myself) as well as doing the horses again, oh and with possibly being pg

AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

JustKeepSparkling · 27/11/2009 13:59

Alice I was going to ask about that, but didn't want to torture you but I remember last week you said you were all tired etc

Madamemoo I haven't done any classes and I post my pics on here as I joined the slatterns at the same time as starting to do the cakes, so they have to follow my every developement

Its MILs birthday today so all excited about giving her the cake, so not bothering with a list just thought I would pop on and see how you all were,

and while I'm here have a quick moan, remember I was meeting my mum tomorrow well she rang today to say could we meet at 1.30 instead, so then she can wait and get my dad off to work and then get a taxi to meet me and relax and she won't have to rush home
gggrrrr they have 2 cars ffs, but she dosen't like driving his car, but he needs her car for work,
that bugs me so much, he went out to buy a second car they would both be happy with and ended up buying one that my mum is not comfortable driving, oh I could go on all day,
and she won't have to say she has been out with me at all

now dh is appalled, told me I should have said no 1.30 dosen't suit, and it dosen't really, and that hes fed up with her,
I'm not sure how long I can put the happy face on for either

sorry I came on to see how you all were, not moan about me

Good news is I was able to go out and get DS christmas present today, so thats the 2 big things in out of the way

Claps for poos in the Potty for Claireys ds

SparklyAlice · 27/11/2009 16:40

Plum now i am all cross on your behalf!! That would drive me mad!

As for the possible pg, we are ttc atm, last month i had terrible AF pains and came on day 23, this month i have had no pg/AF symptoms whatsoever. I have badskin though which i never get and i am very tired, bt that is probably because of the weather and because i am bad at remembering to take my spatone.

And no, not a hope in hell of a lie in next weekend!

SparklyAlice · 27/11/2009 16:42

Sorry for crap typing, on knackered old keyboard.

Meant to have in there i am on day 20 today and no AF signs.

JustKeepSparkling · 27/11/2009 16:56

Hope MIL likes the cake!

oh I need to get a move on
Got a nice surprise in the post, jointz, group for children with arthritis, sent a letter asking if we want 2 free tickets to the pantomine and meal and party afterwards in hotel which the whole family can go to, in January, so we can meet other parents etc
I could pay for the other 2 to go to the pantomine too, but not sure what to do might just let it be for dd1 to meet some other children and then the dcs can come and meet us at the party

SparklyAlice · 28/11/2009 13:09

Hello ladies

Have finally got some ideas for christmas hampers/presents. What do you think of

A christmas tree decoration (homemade)
A box of sparkly snowflake biscuits (homemade)
Cheese straws (homemade)
Honeycomb/truffles/fruit and nut chocs (all homemade)in a little bag
Sloe gin (if ready)
Then a little something extra (grandparents, a bottle of sherry, for some friends of ours a nice teatowel/napkins/candle)

Not neccessarily all of those, but a combination depending on who for?

Might also add books as my friend took me to this book warehouse this morning where i got 6 books (i think..) for £15 and the books start at 50p each (all brand new)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/11/2009 13:16
