November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

Good morning

Ali - you did well yesterday, well done! Have a

I swear to god that fecking cat is going to be put in a cage at night. All night it was jumping on me and purring in my face. Bloody shattered. I really don't function on less than about 9hrs sleep

It is a mad day for me, as i am on my course all day, so most stuff will have to be done this evening. Might have to use the giant toblerone as rewards for myself

I fear today may be somewhat sugar filled. Chocolate biscuits for breakfast is certainly a great start

Get up done
Get DD up
Get DD dressed
Get DD in the car with breakfast
Feed and muck out horses
Take DD to childminder
Talk to childminder about making a cake for her charity stall at weekend
Go home, get changed
Pop into WHSmith on way into college
Spend day at college
Pick DD up
Put horses to bed
Do dinner for myself and DD (DH out this evening)
DD bed
Do some stuff off other list
Get an early night (with cat shut out!)

To do this week:
Get loft stuff put in loft
Hoover upstairs
Take stuff to the charity shop
Clean bathroom
Try enzyme spray on sofa
Take lots of recycling out
Take stuff to the tip
Clean kitchen
Tidy conservatory
Sweep and mop all hard floors
Hoover stairs
Dust (at least the big cobwebs!)
Clean tv unit
Clean hob
Clear off worktops
Get present for secret santa nearly done
Send SS gift

cikecaka · 24/11/2009 07:41

Morning all, DCs have the day off today due to a strike.

JKS, hope DS is a lot better this morning

SA, PMSL at the cat

PLUM, that is the trouble with getting older the presents get smaller, and more expensive . I made DS write a 'Santy' list (told him as long as he lives here he needs to write a santy list, no list no presents). I figure his will cost me about E400, and all he has down is a new phone, 3 games for the XBOX, and a couple of DVDs

TO DO
Leave DD3 to toddler group
Clean Kitchen
Tidy Sitting room
Hoover Downstairs
Wash Floors
Tackle DD1s room
Collect DD3
Make Lunch
Down town after dinner
Check on Mammy
Maybe get DDs hair cut

mollyroger · 24/11/2009 08:21

May I join you for a slatternly kick up the arse?
I am crap at housework at the best of times - my whole family are clutter-magnets, but now I am working extra hours and the temptation to slump in front of pc when I get home is overwhelming.
My aim is to set a task, for after work, do it and 'reward' myself with MN/FB etc.
I had terrible insomnia on Sat night/Sun morning, so I bottomed the front room and hallway. So I feel like I have a good foundation to build on, IYSWIM.

So...today:
The Caverns of Hell the boys' rooms.
The bathroom
Bake for pcked lunches

cikecaka · 24/11/2009 08:39

Hello and welcome, Mollyroger, to our friendly group. Feel free to post your lsit

JustKeepSparkling · 24/11/2009 08:52

DS2 still a bit grumpy this morning but mostly OK. Though DH was worried about DS1 sounding rattly this morning too, what fun.
And the GP & pharmacist both said DH, DS1 & I should get all the flu jabs, we have to decide ourselves about DS2 but i am leaning towards it as a simple cold can cause such havoc for him. will try and ring the gp later to book us in.

  • breakfast
  • all dressed (except ds2)
  • strip beds & find clean bedding
  • remake ds2's bed

Morning, Afternoon girls.

Impressed that some of you have managed to buy xmas presents.

Written off this morning as it was a baby sick extravaganzer (spelling?) resulting in dire need for more washing to be done, three babygro changes (DD) and one complete outfit change (me). Luckily the worst was over by the time the health visitor turned up. She said I looked knackered , but she was sympathetic.

DH also sick today but still gone to work. Don't think DD has anything serious, just sicking up a bit after feeds. I tried to give her a dummy and she did a major vom. That told me then .

House a state will do one room at a time if poss and hopefully it will look decent by the time DH gets hom .

Its also traditional to have a moan

Welcome Mollyrodger

Madamemoo why was the party sad? if that is not being too nosey

If its family problems I am an expert in those and they have me moaning alot on this thread

CC You will have to come up here for your shopping, MIL went to Dundalk couple of weeks ago said everything was ££££, but then she whipped out this gorgeus coat she got in pennies for 35 £/E?

Always I read that thread too, do like the thought of all the 15 min bursts

dancing day today
so while overseeing homework going to get spag bol on
then need to do ironoing tonight
start MILs cake tomorrow

My mum has been asking me for ages to go out some Saturday so we finally settled on this Saturday, she hadn't mentioned it for a few days
so I knew something was up, as every phonecall ends with "we're still on for Saturday"
So last night I said it instead and she was hmmm your daddy is working twice on Saturday will have to be home to make his dinner[ggrrrrr] can we leave it until next week,
me, no I have 3 cakes for next weekend, I said well I didn't tell the dcs you were going to bring them to pizza hut(thankGod) so we could still meet for the morning, shes goes shopping every Saturday without fail,
today she rang me from work
I was thinking why don't we meet after school on Friday, so now I feel guilty because I had to say no because it is MILs Birthday
dh is fuming, and I just couldn't care less anymore, its obvious that she has been told she is not to see me, just feeling anoyed this week because ds starting talking about his grandad out of the blue, well I'm assumming out of the blue as I don't trust my mum not to say anything to them

PlumBumMum · 24/11/2009 15:46

Sorry don't expect anyone to read that actually if your having trouble sleeping read it, problem solved
