November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

I would sell it then Always,
I have a great cook book called how to cool, it does everything, how to make sauces (and save them if they go wrong), soups etc there is a section for everything
I'm sure it would probably cost at the most a tenner, so you could get a good shop for £50

HMHB Hope you have a better night

I have a retrieved a list from earlier in the thread as I really do need to whip this house into shape
so tomorrow will be busy!!!

how to cook a little more than 10

SparklyAlice · 08/11/2009 08:17

Good morning lovely slatterns

Whoever was looking for cookbooks, try the library. I borrow loads of different cookbooks from there and ours always has older books for sale and there are loads of cook books in there.

Feeling a bit rubbish atm, and think i have a UTI, so have been feeling a bit sorry for myself However, today i am determined to get back on top of some housework, and stop being so mopey.

Jobs to do:
Get DD dressed
Go to the horses, turn out, start mucking out
Drink water
Strip beds
Wash sheets
Dry sheets
Put some stuff back in the bathroom
Put some washing away
Go to waitrose
Lunch
Ride horses
Cook dinner
Clean kitchen
Tidy up living room
Make beds
DD bath and bed

We got our polish neighbour (who is a painter/decorator) to paint our bathroom ceiling as we had it re-plastered a few months back, but i don't think he understood as he filled all the rough walls in and painted entire bathroom white, and resealed the edge of the bath/tiles for us, all for £80 it looks amazing, but now i don't want to put all our junk back in there

It has been rubbish here DP decided not to come home from work on Friday night until midnight I don't mind him going out but I would like to be told so I am not thinking something awful has happened he also had the bank card so I had no money and hardly any food in the house (the online shop was coming Sat).

Alice - hurrah for DH's who can cook, mine is in the kitchen now and I'm drinking tea! [not a stalker emoticon]

We have had a mainly good day. DH and I are niggling at each other a bit atm. He so wants this job and is getting really nervous about the 2nd interview on Wednesday. I've forgotten to take my ADs for two days now and I've got raging PMT, it's not a good combination. Definitely not abandoning you lot, just had a wee read, its Always fault for posting the crisis clean not too regimented for me, and I hate shoes on in the house

Well apparently my cake was a roaring success so I am happy
still have loads to do, but made a quick dinner tonight using chicken stock I had frozen from a previous Sunday roast, added noodles, had chicken noodle soup and cooked some criss cross potatoes,
soup left over for dh & I lunch tomorrow so 3 meals from 1 chicken can't be bead

Mumof2 that sounds crazy! Good luck for your dp

Ali fingers crossed for your dh, I think its ok for things to niggle when you know the reason, but normally dh and I make a joke out of it to diffuse any tension

Hi all. Hope you had good weekends all round.

CWWM - I hope you are feeling ok, or as ok as you can. I can't imagine how you must feel. You are a v. brave lady.

As usual the day has flown by. Had a bit better night last night thankfully. DD fed every 2 hours but v quickly so I could go back to sleep . DS not up til 8.30 which was good.

Just about got through the weekend with DD and DS. DS can be quite willful and drove me mad yesterday (such that I had a small row with DH - just annoyed at his lack of consistency with rules ). Things have been a bit better today.

ToDo
Order thank you cards for DD - done
Washing out done

Tomorrow
Breakfast and dressed
Dishy on
Washing on
Tidy lounge
Tidy bedroom
Put clothes away
Ring re bilton cottage
Pay cheque in

Lunch with friend

Important
Buy cards for
Register DD's birth
Register DD at doctors

Rugrats - nightmare re school, sounds outrageous tbh!

CWWM - Poor you & Hannah So 5 weeks time is another sad anniversary for you too? ((hugs)) in advance.

Ali - i haven't forgotten to take mine yet, am a bit paranoid now! Have taken 4, dh says he thinks they're already helping but i'm not sure. Will they make me 'happy' or just stop me being sad? Would say i've not been so sad but then i find these things come in waves anyway.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 08/11/2009 21:25

DH watching Ray Mears and we are now watching House. I will watch X factor tomorrow. I do think that the Jedward twins look like they are being electrocuted when they dance. v. jerky. ...back to House. Have a good evening.
