Ali I feel your pain, ds had JUST drifted off and dd woke him up "because I wanted to talk to him"

That's it now, now he's had a sleep, even just 2 minutes, he won't have another today.

ShinyAndNew · 29/10/2009 11:15

My day went terribly yesterday. I ended up spending the afternoon retrieving the lost kitten, wastinga trip to the petshop and then cleaning up dd1's vomit and comforting her.

Just checking up on you all. Lots of lists nicely done...good work ladies.

Mumsnet is all wonky. I can't cope with it in my frazzled state.

The last few nights have been intense mainly due to DD falling asleep on the boob all the time.

Last night I was falling asleep all the time. Just couldn't stay awake so had to bfeed lying down which meant I have no idea how much she had or anything. Oh well.

On the plus side I have a really nice health visitor and not the nazi one which is great although I may have said that already - God I have gone a bit wierd, sorry.

List
Have nap
Do lots and lots of washing
Feed DD alot
etc.

HalfMumHalfZombie · 29/10/2009 13:55

What do you reckon to this. We have been invited to 2 weddings next year. They are my old Uni mates, one set without kids and one set with a 6 month old.

The set without kids say we can take DD who would be 6 months but not DS who would be 3.5yrs. The wedding is a 6 hr drive away. We might be able to leave DS with grandparents but its a big ask.

The set with 1 DD say we can't take either child and DD would only be 4 months and (hopefully) still breast feeding. It would be a massive ask to get grandparents to babysit both and not sure how that would work as would have to bfeed DD???

One of my RL nice friend says not to bother going to either as they are too mad.

PlumBumMum · 29/10/2009 14:42

I would wait until closer to the time and decide, but I agree with ur friend,
dhs brother is getting married in Rome next year, and having a reception the following week in a Castle which is 5 mins from our house, on dd2s birthday
the dcs are invited to ROME but not the Castle
And I couldn't be bothered at all as we went to Rome last year for other brother and it cost us a small fortune, and I would love just a proper family holiday, we haven't had one in 5 years, and as much as we liked Rome it was very expensive and not a child friendly holiday destination

My friends dh made it
and then another friend called for tea and is just away so have got zero done

JustBeBuffy · 29/10/2009 14:53

That is mad about the weddings!! We had a bouncy castle at ours especially for all the kids.

Ok, i am feeling a bit on edge. DD i think may have a bit of earache (keeps putting her fingers in them) My house is a complete pigsty, DD keeps attacking the cat (which we now think actually has a break, possibly from DD) i want to just hide from everyone and eat crisps and chocolate, oh, and all of a sudden my list of topics i'm on has disappeared [grumpy old bag emoticon]

scaryclaireyboo · 29/10/2009 17:22

HMHB I wouldn't go I don't think...is a big ask to expect yo to go without dc, esp with dd being so tiny still.

RE the falling asleep bf, I found bf was far more successful 2nd time round precisly because I let myself do that and didn't stress about how much he was having or how often. Whatever works for you all to get rest I say

Plum - yay for your MIL! I have a Kenwood, and I bloody love it. Mixes it all up in no time and then all the bits go in the dishwasher!
about your Dad though.

JKS - that looks like a lovely day tomorrow, your PILs seem fantastic!

I have no idea what is wrong with DS this evening. He has hardly napped all day and is knackered, but has a temp and is not eating, grumpy etc. I think he's teething, he's only got his very back ones left to come through and I've heard they are horrid. He has refused to be put down for almost 2 hours now and doesn't want boob, milk in a cup, water, toast, his elephant, Pooh Bear etc etc. So DH has taken him out in the car and is going to pick up McDonalds for us to have for tea.

HalfMumHalfZombie · 29/10/2009 21:49

Alibooba - I think laying down is safer than falling asleep on the baby. Will try not to worry about how much she is getting and hopefully get some sleep myself at the same time.

Ohhh I've got a little Kenwood (which I'll get round to using some time ). Have fun Plum!

DH and I have decided not to go to the first wedding and think about the 2nd one later.

Being hormonal I actually had a bit of a cry thinking about not being able to take DD to a wedding. DH thinks its really sad. We had our wedding in a village hall and church and invited all the kids of our friends. I think it is different if you have a hotel style wedding but feel sad that people expect you to split up your family. Its not like we have grandparents nearby to hand the kids over to. Will now stop thinking about it and go to bed early.

Tomorrow
Lots of washing
Dishy
Kitchen
Baby feeding etc. etc.

SpookyAlice · 30/10/2009 08:47
