Good morning ladies

I haven't read through completely i'm afraid, it seems every thread i am on went mad in the last 36hrs, so have read bits of them all

Had a lovely day yesterday, but with the horses and a toddler it is a bit of a logistical nightmare trying to get everywhere at the right times and worse now it gets dark so early.

It is DH's birthday today, so hopefully going out for a meal this evening. My friend is babysitting.

Oh, and my grandad is coming over today to finish some carpentry and put in an extra worktop.

Morning everyone

ali glad you had a nice evening. The caramel puds sound lovely, I adore anything that has caramel, maybe a little too much

plum I think £50 sounds very reasonable for the amount of work that went into the cake. I have been thinking about selling some of the jewellery I have made and when I searched the web for how to price them I found a blog by an experienced seller and she said to times the cost of materials by 2 and then add your hourly rate. So if an piece of jewellry took me an hour I should add £5 or something like that.

PlumBumMum · 28/10/2009 10:51

Morning all

Happy birthday alices dh

CC glad you had a good night hope your dd has settled now,

the clocks going back worked really well for me, the dcs are ready for their beds and getting up a bit earlier so less stress (supossedly) in the morning

dh & I tried to fix dd1s DS, and ended up just taking the cracked bit off, but I made him try super glue first, so that has now made it not close properly, I'm hoping I can talk her round,
but I was talking to dh and it has got to the stage where sometimes I'm afraid to suggest things to her, because she likes it at the time and then regets it later,
oh I don't know its hard to explain I will just have to find a new way of coping with her

Anyway dcs finish today at 2 and thats us until Monday so I have lots planned,
bring on the stress

This my list for things to be done before Saturday

SpookyAlice · 28/10/2009 10:51

Ooh i have just done a link!!!!! And it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ShinyAndNew · 28/10/2009 11:12

Can I join in today and tomorrow? Dd1 is having a halowe'en party so I need a good clean.

The list for today:

Clean yard done
Tidy living room
Clear off mantle
Clean coffee marks of mantle
Clear of PC desk
Dust tv and PC
Clean living room window
Clean leather sofa
Sweep and mop floor
Tidy hallway
Sweep and mop hallway
Hoover stairs
Do at least 3 loads of washing
Tidy dd1's bedroom
Wash and dry bedding
Sweep and mop dd1's room.

I think that is enough for now although there is much more left to do, so I might ad to it as I go along.

plum Why are DD so high mainteinance?, my DD is only 3 and her strops can go on for days!! Today she has decided she doesn't want to wear anything except for a summer dress that is too small!! I just hope I can persuade her to wear something else before we leave at 1pm.

Plum - the cake looks great! What a talent! IMO the only way you can work out what you'd sell them for is to cost the ingredients, work out how long it takes you to complete one and what you'd find acceptable to earn per hour... I'm afraid the results for making them one at a time might be quite shocking though!

My guess is that you'd have to sell something like the pig cake for 50 or 60 pounds to cover costs plus an hourly rate of, say, 3 or 4 pounds.

Alice - well done on the link! Can't help with the question though. Seems like you're getting enough advice anyway.

Congratultions on your DH's birthday BTW.

ShinyAndNew - Welcome! I'm afraid it is rather addictive

Ali - glad you had a good evening. The pud sounds delicious

JKS - it's taken me until now to realise that you are JustBeBuffy [doh] I though I wasn't seeing your posts

HMHZ - your DD is really beautiful

DP has been working at home all week, I like it when he's here but somehow it confuses things a bit too. Not really sure why, he's out of the way (up in the attic) most of the time.

DC have done alright with the clocks changing, thank goodness! DD woke early on Monday and Tuesday but was back to her normal time this morning. It seems to have helped her to have her nap later too. Rather an illogical side effect, but good
