OOOhHHHH Flame we could have a baby flame soon, sparky

I'm having one of those days I think I could cry at any minute
1st I had a dream about my dad playing with dd2(he has never seen her)2nd dream this week,
2nd found a really stupid mistake (that I made) on an invoice but could slow down payment
3rd school rang ds's hearing is down in both ears, not serious but referring him to another doctor and for me to make app with gp, but its just nagging at me when I think of things through out the years when he was little he couldn't pronounce constanants at the start of words etc
Postman Pat was 'oat-an at', made for funny camcorder footage with 'anta got uck up the imney'
the nurse said that was indictive of him not hearing high frequency sounds
Health visitor at the time said it was immaturity
She did say his speach was well in and above his age group now so at least thats one thing!

Anyway need to get dishwasher loaded, think I might strip dcs beds too, good drying day out

DONE
load washing machine
e-mail some invoices
fix silly mistake on a previous invoice[grr]
have tea with dh
hang out washing
take call from school, ds hearing test down in both ears not serious, but not what I wanted to hear

TO DO
Ring gp make appointment for ds
make appointment for dd1 bloods
get rest of books done for accountant
load dishwasher
tidy kitchen
go for walk cancelled
lunch
hoover
put away clean washing
clean bathrooms

PlumBumMum · 23/09/2009 12:18

eek did I say something about a good drying day I think it has started to rain better run,
least that has got me off the computer

OP posts:
booyhoo · 23/09/2009 12:45

can i join?

i need encouragement at the minute.

slow start to the day, ds1 was up coughing with high temp during the night, came into my bed and coughed and flailed all night, bless him he thought he'd put a toy in his throat!

so decided to keep him off today, resulting in me hitting snooze on alarm clock and sleeping in for ds2's jabs. so calpol all round today and ive still nothing done. im having a cuppa and starting at 1.

hang out towel wash
put in bedlinen to wash
wash dishes
clean round kitchen
put all folded washing away (ive got way behind on it)
hoover upstairs
mop upstairs
ironing
bathrooms

PlumBumMum · 23/09/2009 12:48

Need to collect DDs and make dinner
Will make a proper list later

comewhinewithme · 23/09/2009 16:13

Ohhhh a little baby flame .

Welcome booyhoo I hate it when the dc have a cough so I hope your Lo gets over it soon.

PBM ((quick hug while no ones looking).

Can I have a moan about my HV? Well it was not the usual one to start with and then she started really questioning me over L?s weight because she has only put on half an ounce in a fortnight but she is a good healthy weight and all my babies are small.
She then started shouting across the room in front of all the other Mum?s ?and how are you feeding?? and then when I said BF another Mum started going on to her friend about how small she was then the HV asked if she was settled and doing well on the breast I said yes L started screaming so I put her on the boob and L screamed all the way through the feed I was so stressed by this time I was nearly in tears I think one of the support workers realised and she came over and chatted to me for a bit then took dd into nursery next door for me while the other support worker gave L a cuddle . Just felt a bit of a numpty!

Get me and LO?s washed and dressed done
Washing &drying started
Fix eye sort of
DD?s packed lunch done
Health visitor to get L weighed done
Nursery run done
Playgroup??? done
School/nursery pick up done
Clean bathroom
Tea
Uniforms
Packed lunches
Quick tidy round everywhere

LottieDugalo · 23/09/2009 16:38

Ooh Flame, that's so exciting

Hello Booyhoo, I'm very new but list making is helping me a lot, I think I'll be able to keep it up too.

-Veg for soup chopped Done Soup now bubbling away smelling yummy
-Hoover Done
-Orthotics appointment Done but they won't give her splints as I'd hoped, only boots
-Visit potential school for dd Done
-Post Lovefilm dvds back Gave to dp to post so we shall see when he gets home

alwayslookingforanswers · 23/09/2009 16:53

going to try a small list for stuff from now until bedtime (well hopefully bedtime tonight)

Cook dinner
Bath boys
Boys in bed
Load dishwasher and put it on
Re-rinse washing in machine
Hang up inside to dry
Clear computer desk
Count out "penny pot" and bag up

think that'll do for now.

PlumBumMum · 23/09/2009 17:00

CWWM, don't worry your doing fine, I bet shes got longer, I always found when my dcs did gain much they were getting longer, HV's never seem to notice this!! for you

OP posts:
booyhoo · 23/09/2009 17:29

well my HV didnt even weigh ds2 today and he hasnt been weighed in 9 weeks (he's 17 weeks) and she suggested i start spoon feeding him NOW!!!! because he's waking in the night and thats a cue that he's ready for solids . i dont think i'll share my opinion on that particular HV.

ok, so here's where im at so far;

hang out towel wash done
put in bedlinen to wash done
wash dishes done
clean round kitchen done
put all folded washing away (ive got way behind on it)done (YAAAAYYYY!!)
hoover upstairs
mop upstairs
ironing
bathrooms

so weve just finished dinner and ive fed ds2. that gives me an hour before bathtime starts to wash up the dinner pots and pans and get the bathrooms cleaned. cant do ironing til bedlinen is dry so that can keep til after boys are in bed. and i think i'll leave the hoovering and mopping til tomorrow as i dont do ANY other housework on thurs so i'll have lots of time.

cant believe how much ive got done today. must be the power of the list!!

didnt get ironing done as bedlinen is just now finishing in TD so that will have to carry over.probably not tomorrow because as i said i dont do anything on thursdays and if i was to do any it wouldnt be ironing i'd pick. and im not doing a list for tomorrow either so might be friday before im seen again on here.

hope all those that had crap nights last night get it easier tonight. i'm on standby with vicks, calpol and karvol for ds1 and calgel and boob (NOT a spoonfeed mrs HV) for ds2.

night all

PlumBumMum · 23/09/2009 21:11

Well done everyone on lots of done, well my crap day rounded off with a crap night

Decided to have a nice night reading stories with dcs, read dd2's choice then put her into cot,
read ds's choice but dd1 , not wanting to be left out sat in with us, so when it came to her turn she didn't want ds in her room, but we all sat up on her bed, and she started huffing and crying,
so I just cracked up,
she really knows how to wind me up, she didn't get a bed time story, she always thinks she is the most hard done by one and really pushes my buttons,
then I felt bad and went down to tell her I love her and give her a cuddle,
and as soon as I went in she started crying saying I want my rrom back the way it was
after proclaiming today how much she loved it and it was soo much easier to have her classroom now she didn't have to squash her pupils together

aaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh, please someone tell me its just 8 year old girls!!

Flamesparrow · 24/09/2009 07:17

CWWM - DS stopped growing at about 6 months, for about 6 months. Imo if they are healthy and alert, then size really isn't an issue (he is finally catching up with his peers now, at 3 1/2). I hate how HVs seem to focus on it though and make us feel like crap.

DH left a drink on the floor last night in the lounge... so he will be recleaning the carpet this afternoon to get squash out of it .

DS broke into the kitchen and poured away an entire new bottle of lemon squash (which is MINE for easing heartburn). I bought it last night

My feet hurt. Have done all night. Feel swollen but don't look it . Ooh and spoke to a m/w mate on facebook last night, and she says that I am more likely 3/5 engaged and it is 2/5 palpable

Dunno what I am doing today - torn between house stuff this morning, and going swimming. This afternoon I am probably driving the 2 hour round trip to collect parcel from DHL (no day when I can stay in the whole day to get them to redeliver), and DH and sort the dining room and the bloody carpet.

Flamesparrow · 24/09/2009 07:40

Oh FFS. I dared to leave him alone quietly eating breakfast whilst I got dressed.

He has gotten the chicken out of the fridge (a LOT of chicken) and dumped it all in the cat's bowl/tray/water where I suspect it has all been thoroughly licked. That was for me to cook during the day, remove meat for stew etc (and freeze), bones for stock... all in bin

Why?!!?

comewhinewithme · 24/09/2009 08:14

Morning all .

Booy am in at your HV bloody hell!!

JKS glad things went ok at the hospital hoping you get all your questions answered.

Thanks for the hugs Ali L is 4 months now Plum is right she is getting longer also thinking back she didn?t even wait for the scales to finish adjusting before she wrote her weight down.

Waves to always have only just worked it out [doh].

Sorry for your crap day PBM your dd does sound a character though !

Flame hope you get a restful sort of day (after you have sorted the chicken out!!)I had a thing for lemon squash when I was PG too. L is very healthy and alert all my dc are small they are just built that way but you are right HV's just seem to focus on weight not how happy a baby is [sigh].

Hope everyone has a good day only me and L here today so I am going to tackle he bedrooms and the washing pile if I have not posted again by 4pm send help.

JustKeepSwimming · 24/09/2009 08:33

Flame - argh!!! Hope your day gets better from here.

CWWM - good luck with the washing - i have lots to do today too!
