I am having such a rubbish morning. I had to put my friend's horses in the field for her and muck them out. The big horse decides to be a complete w*nker and push me about and then get loose, and i can't catch him so had to ring dh (who i was still a bit cross with) to come and give me hand, luckily was just finishing a call so could swing by and help me herd the bugger into the nearest field. Then i get home and dd is super grumpy and stroppy so now we are sat watching balamory eating our way through a pack of biscuits - i am such a bad mum, but today will do anything for a quiet couple of hours

PlumBumMum · 03/04/2009 11:45

alice, your dd will think your a great mum a packet of biscuits and balamory, I'll have some

TA - that makes sense
read the 1st one of Hitchhikers but lost interest after that - and the tv thing put me off!
Wheel of Time sounds good, but...is it finished? or is that the one where the author has died leaving it unfinished? not for me that one!!!!
Have you read the one about Paksinnarion (sp?) - the sheepfarmer's daughter i think it's called?
wiki link

I loved that and read it twice!
will struggle on with Thomas Covenant for now, was given the first one, just finished the 2nd from the library, have to order the 3rd. there are 6 and i think that's it so i can do that.
i started another series which i quit after about 5 books can't remember what it was called now.
the David Eddings ones are good, have got all of them to reread one day.

I was and when I heard he died.

(this is too serious for bunny emoticons>

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 03/04/2009 16:03

I wasn't impressed when i heard - had been considering starting them, he should have finished them first

Alibabaandthe40bunnies · 03/04/2009 16:39

I know JKS . He did try though - knew he was dying and wrote as much as he could. He dictated loads onto tape when he was too ill to actually sit and write any longer. It's very . TA is right though, they will take you a while. The final installment is due out Nov 2011 so if you started now you would probably get there!
