Oh and ComeWhine - caught up with other thread, & at your dp.
i know life with the 5+1 dcs is near impossible to imagine without him but i think you would be happier.
and you may realise eventually that the DCs are happier too?

(a friend of mine's dh moved to the other side of the country for work, the theory being that the family would follow. once he'd gone my friend started seeing how she could manage perfectly well without him and look after her 4 dcs too. she wants a divorce now. he is a bit of a tosser tbh so don't feel sorry for him or anything!)

Today:

  • more work DONE
  • boys tea & mine DONE
  • boys bath & bed soon
  • me out to orchestra meeting (need to check details for social beforehand)
  • home & bed

Ongoing:

  • get to 8stone 7lbs (new low of 9,0)

wastingmyeducation · 27/03/2009 09:20

Alice, I really want a playpen! I have to stay with him all the time cos our front room is a death trap! I have to put him in his entertainer if I want to get on, but I think he's bored of it now, he gets really upset, every time I put him in it.

wastingmyeducation · 27/03/2009 09:24

I don't think we should feel bad about the TV. In more traditional societies we would have a house full of grandmas and aunties to help out. It's not our fault that we're all so isolated these days. And having the TV or radio on gives us and them some company.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/03/2009 09:42

I also use the TV when I need to get things done if DS isn't happy playing. The 6pm In the Night Garden and 3rd & Bird slot is very useful for getting the dinner ready! DH came home in the middle of 'do the muffin' the other day and was at the song!
I reckon that as long as they aren't in front of it for hours then it's ok.
I'm finding that putting him in his highchair and bringing him into the kitchen with me is a good one - I can get maybe half an hour to do the dishwasher, wipe up etc before he gets cranky.

Today
DH working from home
Up, showered and dressed
Breakfast x 3 - done
Hoover everywhere
Dust everywhere
Organise bedding
Lunch x 3
Change our sheets
Clean shelves in bathroom
Ice cake
Wash sheets and towels
Photo frames
Empty bins
Clean mirrors
Walk on new carpet in bare toes because it feels lovely - done
Out for dinner tonight so no cooking needed

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/03/2009 09:43

Argh I don't know where to start!
