Ah I have decluttered but I keep forgetting to add them.

Day 191, some tent pegs
Day 192, a handbag which has survived every single cull but which I just don't use. Into the charity bag now
Day 193 (today) sold a makeup bag on vinted. Posting today. First sale in months.

IndianSummer78 · 12/07/2025 22:35

Another broken peg
A dress that doesn't suit me

Total is 3645

Decluttered dsis house (again) today. Have a car load for the charity shop. It was all neat and tidy in the car and now it’s out and on the front lawn.

DH decided when I got back that we’re going to the beach. With paddle board. We only have one car. So I’ve had to empty the charity shop stuff out pack up car and then will repack this evening.

Hasthisreallyhappened · 13/07/2025 16:09

Wooo hooo, finally, hall stairs landing , free of clutter, all unneeded cardboard boxes in the recycling bin for tomorrow’s collection, my hobby room is pretty much back to normal and I can see the office floor (I’ve ordered a concertina file for the office and am going to have a purge on filing next week).

the garage is a bit messy but it’s got several piles and boxes of stuff which is waiting to go to tip, charity shop, or other people via free before the tip type of fb page. Really chuffed with myself as I started it not expecting to finish but then all of a sudden it was done (only been on it about five months !).

JK3 · 13/07/2025 16:25

just chucked a load of old coursework. Don’t know why I was keeping it.
Lots of old bank statements shredded.
Need to do half an hour uploading to Vinted later - clothes are a big problem here.

CheesePlantFeet · 13/07/2025 16:46

Charity shop: cushion

Bin / recycling: 9x expired spices/condiments, bracelet, 8x mini toiletries, swimming goggles, pants, makeup bag

I have a new pile of things to put on vinted, but will count those when they sell or end up getting charity shopped

I've not been doing well but have just got rid of 3 games that my son doesn't play with anymore. We have some new furniture arriving on Thursday so have stuff to list on the free site prior to this.

LivingInaBuiltSite · 13/07/2025 21:22

I’ve been so rubbish and not posted for so long you’ve probably thought I’d been abducted or something, oops!

Life is just busy, work and shifts, and night shifts, and still plodding away on my training portfolio. Had the end of term orchestra concert yesterday, now have a pile of everyone’s folders that need emptying' music sorted and filed and then new music found and put into folders for Sept.
May get the DC to help this time now they’re older.

Found my last post to update, I think:

Jobs:

  1. Hang up framed pictures: this has now changed to critically go through the framed artwork as we’ve agreed we don’t actually want all of it?
  2. DS2 paperwork: blue badge started
  3. my British passport application - Ceremony DONE 🇬🇧 then passport application form, not started yet
  4. DS1’s gaming, PC, nerf collections to go through and tidy
  5. Portfolio work - up to 68% completed and marked correct, approx 10% needs correcting, 22% not started yet.
  6. Bathroom redecoration: waiting for decorator to book a new date, still waiting

Not quite outs yet:
scooter hooks x 3 onto FB
Several jigsaws - definitely going into work, maybe Wednesday if I remember to bag them up and put in the car
some paint stuff Dd doesn’t want OUT

Out:
paint stuff x approx 10
knackered knickers x 5
582+15=597

(plus probably other stuff I’ve missed in the last few months!)

JK3 · 14/07/2025 22:55

outs:

eight books
a board game
10 jigsaws
vests and pants

total 747

I just checked my last post and on the 3rd July I put a load of stuff in a bag on my bedroom floor. Guess what? It’s still there. And more
clutter has appeared on my bedroom surfaces. But its not as bad as it was.

So today’s job will be to set a timer and do 10 minutes in my bedroom.

since I last posted my hoover died. I was going to take it to the dump but decided to put it on Trash nothing and 6 people wanted a broken hoover! A guy collected it yesterday. He wanted the challenge of fixing something. It’s not really an ‘out’ as I have had to order a new hoover but it was amazing having someone pick up my rubbish.

Vinorosso74 · 16/07/2025 10:53

Also been rubbish at updating. Dropped bag at a charity shop yesterday.
Had an item on Freecycle which someone has dicked about over and now doesn't want! Nobody else has responded, it used to be a brilliant way to get rid of things but no more.
Going on holiday at the weekend, will try relisting once I'm back.
Going to drop off soft plastics and blister pack recycling when I pop out in a while.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/07/2025 12:13

We are getting a new sofa bed for the spare room and I'm trying to get rid of the existing furniture, the futon has gone but no takers on the armchair so need to arrange for the council to collect this.

I've gifted 3 games we don't play via our local free site.

Hello hello, I have decluttered but not posted. It's been a busy week so far and the last slog until summer hols and time off (at least for a few weeks) for me.

Sunday was day 194 of decluttering of the year. I forgot to get rid of anything, so at bedtime I rummaged around till I found an odd sock that had been floating about and binned it :)
Monday, day 195 - DH took a broken toastie maker to the electrical recycling point. Was happy as it was taking up a lot of cupboard space
Tuesday, 196 - posted a Vinted parcel of a Duplo set I'd sold. Again quite happy as they take up space!

Then I had a few insane days and did nothing. So I have now gone through a drawer and decluttered days 197, 198 and 199 by getting rid of DC activity books that are too babyish. I'm finally back on track.

Next project will be DC clothes and uniform things - over the year I've recycled things that have been visibly torn or tattered, but most of our very capsule uniform is getting small or very worn and faded, and I have new bits waiting. So next decluttering area is definitely DC wardrobe. After that, I have some odds and sods to sell/recycle but I'm suddenly thinking I'm not sure how I'll get to the end of the year.

JK3 · 18/07/2025 13:01

3 cushions and a pair of flip flops to charity

total outs: 751

CherryRipe1 · 18/07/2025 15:53

Sold a couple of things on eBay but its very slow despite lowering prices. Used up a tub of fence paint on a fence that was different shades of algae green, bare wood & a faded chestnut. (Treated the algae first). Threw out a really tatty, grubby, paint covered dressing gown & cotton top I was using as floor cloths and dust sheets/spill wipes for fence painting. Also used up an ant spray & dust after a large swarm decided to invade our lounge through a small gap in our front door, haven't a clue what they were hoping to gain, maybe food? Pokémon cards donated to Wall-mart - gone!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/07/2025 08:53

It may seem a small win, but I've tidied off a windowsill and thrown out a stack of paper that accumulated there. Its so nice to see it clear and dusted!

IncessantNameChanger · 19/07/2025 11:37

I'm back going to try to stay back.

I have I realise now been in burnout. My kids all have SEN so I suspect I do and this is autistic burn out. Which makes me wonder about getting a diagnosis again. Overall I don't think a diagnosis would help. But it might give me permission to step away from more things.

Anyway. We hired a cleaner and had a join tidy for her to clean. The house looked amazing for ds gf arrival but on close inspection it wasn't clean at all. Very disappointed. The cleaner ( dh friend) didn't move anything to clean. Eg the bottles on the bath. I then wiped beside the loo with toilet paper and she couldn't have cleaned the floor there either as it was dirty. So we need to hire a professional spring clean.

I'm on holiday right now.

Out
My pants
Chub rub shorts

In
One Turkish towel to see how good they are ( very light weight for holidays)

4 labubus for dd but I'm ignoring them.

I'm going to leave anything a bit knackered here so got more to bin yet.

DiscoBeat · 19/07/2025 12:55

We surprised DS15 with a new double bed to replace his singing bed while he was away on a school trip, and bought him some new PJs as he's suddenly shot up, so there are a couple of black bags full of single bedding and PJs for the charity shop, and someone collected his single bed frame yesterday. Tip run for the mattress later!
Also went through the suitcases and backpacks and got rid of some we don't use.

Sold today on eBay an abdominal cruncher & posted it off. Tidied out the fridge & put out of date pickles & sauces in the kitchen waste. Vinegary stuff down the loo to clean it. Listing some nearly new trainers later when I can be bothered. Watching an American hoarder programme again to spur me on.

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 19/07/2025 21:50

Three bags-for-life full of outgrown kids’ clothes for the car boot sale at DD’s work. Also a tub of Barbies and similar. Twelve books set aside and a construction set.

Filled large charity bag with clean raggy clothes for recycling at Dunelm.

Several pairs of glasses to take to Specsavers next time I’m in town.

Ah this reminds me to dig out an old pair of glasses which I know are cluttering up my drawers somewhere!!

I sold 2 Vinted items yesterday so those can be my declutters for days 200 and 201. They were both kids phonics book bundles.
Can't believe we are at day 201already!!
