Car boot sale today. Sold about half a car load. Made £130.

the rest is going to the charity shop this week.

That's brilliant, well done. Wish we had car boot sales around here. Or a car, that matter!

Took a break from clothes today and binned an incredibly scratchy old chopping board for day 173

ememem84 · 22/06/2025 16:00

I don’t usually do them but joined the school pta a while back and as it was a pta event thought I’d better!

I suggested our school do this, or even a tabletop sale in the hall.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 22/06/2025 16:13

I'm hoping I've got a bit more in me this afternoon but I've sorted out a couple of shelves in my sons room and put some books aside to gift. Also got all his too small swimming shorts in the charity bag, about 6 pairs and chucked a few pairs of too small pants.

CheesePlantFeet · 22/06/2025 16:31

Had a potter in the garden this weekend. Bought a half dead begonia from asda for 60p which started me off gardening. It just needed watering and perked right up. But as a result of my pottering about I decided to get rid of a yucca I grew from a cutting gifted to me a few years ago. It had massively outgrown it's space and was horribly stabby - right at eye level too. Also managed to move plants from other spots to fill in it's gap, so avoided an expensive garden centre trip!

sold: chest of drawers, yucca
Charity shop: planter

Total: 1422

I laughed today. I had an item on fbmp for £12 which was a jolly good buy but I wanted rid of it. Yesterday it came up as needing renewing/relist so for some strange reason I decided to put it up to £20 and ten minutes later I sold it.

mum told me it’s called Danish Auction but I’ve never heard of it. Put some of my others things up too but no takers.

CherryRipe1 · 22/06/2025 21:51

Sold some vintage bits on eBay yesterday, couldn't believe it as it's like Tumbleweed Gulch right now for sales on there. Kerching. Packed up and ready to go to post office tomorrow. Might drop some more bits to the hospice charity shop.

EllieQ · 22/06/2025 22:44

No new decluttering, but I’ve got a few things out of the house this weekend.

Listed eight things on Vinted yesterday - two of them have sold already, and I posted them off today, using up two of my stash of padded envelopes in the process. I also used up a gift bag as DD went to a friend’s birthday party at the weekend.

IDareSay · 23/06/2025 12:32

W/E 22/06 (Week 25)
2025 – (1034 + 51 = 1085 ) = 940 to go

Just checked my numbers and I made a mistake on 1st June so I am further forward than I thought and past where I should be for halfway through the year thankfully! I thought it looked wrong so scrolled back to check.

total this year - 653

Pigtailsandall · 23/06/2025 18:09

Get dc dressed today and realised favourite school shorts are too small! The button won't do up so they are in the charity shop bag with my clothes and can count as today's declutter

IndianSummer78 · 24/06/2025 02:57

1 shampoo used up
4 scarves I never wear donated

Total is 3627

Ememem as someone who used to deal with a car boot site, thank you for not leaving the remainder behind on the field. You won't believe how many people do that and leave the organiser to dispose of their unsellable old tatt.

Pigtailsandall · 24/06/2025 08:33

Day 175 declutter is a top - tried it on this morning, not worn it in ages and thought, no....there's a reason I haven't worn it in ages!

Added to the charity shop bag

Benvenuto · 24/06/2025 13:09

Last week‘s progress (all binned / recycled):
3 pairs of old boots
3 old children’s sweeping brushes (I remember buying one as DS swept the shop floor with it but no idea why we had three)
part of an old shredder
2 bags of garage rubbish
1 trip to the tip
more cardboard & a few other things to the recycling bin

Current total: 11

Finding this thread very motivating - thank you.

CherryRipe1 · 24/06/2025 16:50

Books out on the wall of opportunity. No takers as yet but am hoping. I'll have to keep an eye out for showers & might drop them off at a charity shop or I believe some supermarkets take them? . Left a tupperware rice cooker there too as got a new one but the recycling people took that eventually. Got some more bits to list on eBay, I should bite the bullet & try Vinted.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 24/06/2025 19:29

@CherryRipe1 give vinted a try. I took a while to give in but wish I’d done it earlier. I’ve made £2800 since starting less than a year ago. I’ve made a fraction of that on eBay in the same time. Anything brand new/tagged I list on both if I have time. I’ve noticed people trying it on with really low offers on eBay lately which is annoying and I’m not a fan of all the changes they’ve been making to the site

IndianSummer78 · 25/06/2025 00:50

One pair of flip flops that rip my feet to shreds. Total is 3628

we made about 200 £10 a pitch 20 cars. Not too bad.

yeaterday I found some age 4 girl shorts and summer trousers and gave them to a classmate of ds’ sister. So those are gone!

either today tomorrow depending on timing the rest is going to the charity shop.

broke a zigzag headband this week. So annoying. With my crazy post chemo hair I need them to try and keep it in check!

Thank you, that's great making that much! Yes eBay is dreadful now. They're definitely not listening to the sellers fuming on sm, I can't see it is sustainable unless the business sellers are keeping it afloat. Yeah cheeky f offers. I definitely need to get onto Vinted.

Bufftailed · 25/06/2025 10:52

Just joining you all. Feel totally overwhelmed by my house - so many junk filled cupboards. Decluttering starts now. 1 box of broken toys/ random bits of unusable junk. In the bin

Year total: 1

Going to gather as much as I can today and tomorrow and trip to charity shop/ dump this week

Realfastfoodie · 25/06/2025 15:02

Left a bunch of stuff outside the house which has gone - who coined the word “Walmart” ? 😁

I have also felt liberated to throw a load of stuff away too. June is suddenly looking up!

Some recent stuff…
1 bookshelf
2 brackets
1 washer
3 old cloths
2 electric whisk beaters
1 plastic rose
1 broken ball pit
1 Wicker basket
2 sofas
1 Wooden chest
1 lipgloss
1 badge
1 hair mask
2 toothpaste
1 toothbrush
21 syringes /scoops
8 jars from fridge
6 bottles/jars from cupboards
2 coffee ground
1 buggy board
1 shelf stand
2 storage bags breast milk

2 french style jars
1 tray
1 jigsaw thing

total YTD 682

CherryRipe1 · 25/06/2025 19:01

@Realfastfoodie I think it was me on another thread. Someone accused me of trashing the area! It gets taken so quickly round here & if it's hanging around I'll bin/recycle or the refuse people dispose of it if electrical or clothing. It's caught on & lots of people doing it now!

Benvenuto · 25/06/2025 22:49

Quick post as my total is now 50!
One bag of jumble, 5 books & the rest is old clothes.
Not sure if reaching 2025 by the end of the year is possible due to starting so late, but it certainly helps to have it as a target!

CheesePlantFeet · 26/06/2025 08:26

Stupidly, it's bothering me that I'm so disorganised in my decluttering! I'm one set of drawers away from having fully decluttered my office, and instead of doing those, I wafted towards the kitchen and sorted the cutlery drawer. Then I breezed back upstairs and did under my bed. I mean it doesn't matter, it's still getting done! But it bothers me!

In other news, I'm trying to decide if I'm a bikini person. I bought 3 a few years ago because they were cheap and have never worn them. Will I ever wear them? Or will they just travel with me to holiday destinations never seeing the light of day? Getting rid of stuff that you can't use on a daily basis seems oldly harder!

Bin / recycling: "useful" box, "useful" elastic band collection, deformed tupperwear, damaged cleaning brush
Vinted: dress
