Been swamped with work so haven’t been doing much.

Moved all the kitchen stuff that had been in the front room back into the new kitchen.
Quite a few OOD things in the food bin.

Couple of pairs of trouser too small for Ds2 to add to the boys clothes bag to pass along, plus a pair of too small pants.

That’s it for now.

londonmummy1966 · 20/01/2022 18:33

Not a lot done today - dropped off a Vinted sale at the locker and a couple of items in the bin at TKMaxx. Bought a new pair of kitchen tongs and binned the old pair.

Realised that DH put the boxes of his CDs in the space under the piano I had cleared Hmm

seperatedmum · 20/01/2022 19:23

@stealthninjamum thanks I feel a bit better but it's really their well-entrenched bad management 😕 anyway threw out 2 elderly protein powder packs and a random broken bit of plastic. off tomorrow so let's see

SuperDiaperBaby · 20/01/2022 20:22

Listed an unwanted gift on Olio. Not out the door but mentally gone.

Dinosauraddict · 20/01/2022 20:34

Good decluttering day here! Got rid of 11 books, 11 toys, 1 fancy dress outfit, 1 unused teething necklace, a couple of book dust covers, unsubscribed from more mailing lists, and made arrangements to donate my breast pump to the local hospital!

IncessantNameChanger · 20/01/2022 20:50

13 things out to charity today. A few things in too.
One lamp and lampshade in which I needed but its missing the screw to keep the shade on so it's going back out I think. I will phone Dumelm and see if they can post one. Bought six things from charity too. Ops. Two school skirts, waterproof childs trousers which tbh will be used. Plus little jug I dont need for my dresser. Also this Geogre pencil case to cheer me up. So two out for each in but let's be honest it's a weak start. But it it's a start.

Aww that’s cute, though I was always a Zippy girl myself :o

Some outs today - not by me, I have been working. DH went through the box of stuff I had gathered and he got rid of about half of it :)

IncessantNameChanger · 20/01/2022 21:49

My dd is zippy 😂 I think he he had ADHD looking back. I definitely have a Bungle too.

My second ds14 is like Dash the sloth from Zootropalis.

EllieQ · 21/01/2022 07:34

I’m mostly recovered from Covid, but my energy levels are still not quite 100%, so I’m being careful about doing too much. No actual decluttering yet, but yesterday I combined two half-full boxes of Xmas crackers into one box, so the other box has gone in the recycling. This weekend we are definitely going to take the Xmas tree down and put all the Xmas decorations away!

8stone13 · 21/01/2022 09:05

@IncessantNameChanger Ah I loved George, he was always my favourite 😀

Not much decluttering here as I was out most of yesterday, still setting up my new filing system though so the pile of out of date documents to be shredded is growing

pollyannaperspective · 21/01/2022 13:53

Great to read the 'Rainbow' memories. Hope those who are unwell or recovering are starting to feel better.

Not much today. Have located one item from Hall to Sitting Room as a final resting place. That means the Hall is sorted.

8stone13 similar here. Also starting on a re-filing project for finance admin. Retirement is coming in to view for DH in the next 2 years and we are having a full review of pensions, savings etc. We are appointing a Financial Adviser so it is a good time to review all the relevant files with the individual pension plans stored. I have a new multi section expandable file that will hold all the papers relevant to the finance advice. I have culled the papers (annual pension value reports) from one of my pensions leaving only the set up paperwork and the last couple of annual value reports. It is now in one section of my new file. I have also filed the Fin Ad appointment paperwork. Plan is to do this for my other 2 pensions and then for DH. We have to get the paperwork/info to the Adviser anyway so seems sensible to do a bit of paperwork pruning at the same time.

Dinosauraddict · 21/01/2022 22:25

The rainbow references went completely over my head!

Focused more on organisation today but on decluttering DH got rid of a whole bag of shredding for me that I'd bagged up, I ditched 6 cans of out of date baked beans, and I unsubscribed from more mailing lists.

seperatedmum · 22/01/2022 07:16

organising/housework crossover yesterday; loads of ironing, put it away, more clothes important to say the house is overcrowded even with STBXH gone away as much as possible, matched up loads of odd socks, reduced some bits and bobs from 2 baskets to 1

SingToTheSky · 22/01/2022 08:32

I used to have a top with Zippy on that had an actual zip round the mouth

(Don’t worry it didn’t actually open the top 🤣)

Hoping to get some paperwork sorted today. Got a big box that I’m sure can be mostly got rid of or at least filed in the right section of our big accordion folder thing

stealthninjamum · 22/01/2022 12:20

Ha ha I loved zippy. My favourite bits were when they zipped his mouth shut to stop him talking but I never understood why he didn’t unzip his mouth!

Yesterday I found a few items in the kitchen - an old gu pot, a plastic ramekin, more biscuit cutters (not sure I mentioned I found some at the start of the week) . I’m also dithering about throwing away some ice lolly moulds. In the 2020 lockdown dd2 made some horrible melon and banana ice lollies so I should throw them away but something is stopping me.

My total number of outs this year is now 126.
I think I’m on track to get rid of 2022 which I suppose is my target.

pollyannaperspective · 22/01/2022 12:46

Back to paperwork today and second policy details noted for Fin Ad and papers pruned before filing. Most was just generic non identifying annual reports so could be recycled rather than shredded.

Other task today is to get ironing finished and put away and beds re-made ready for next visitors/returning DC. That will be all the tidying etc done from Christmas.

Final job will be to de-clutter the limescale in the washing machine with a machine cleaner and an attack with an old toothbrush to the dispensing drawer.

Happy weekends to everyone.

SingToTheSky · 22/01/2022 14:55

By the size of his hands stealth I’d say he probably couldn’t grab the zip :o

LivingDeadGirlUK · 22/01/2022 15:05

I took to bags to the charity shop! Its great to get them out the house Also sold another item on Vinted.

stealthninjamum · 22/01/2022 18:36

I never thought of that singtothesky I was only about 8 at the time. Of course what I did my realise until I was an adult was zippy and George only had one arm anyway.

I have found a vase that I am getting rid of.

Also dd1 has pronounced, in quite a dramatic way, that it is time to discard the objects of her childhood. She is ready to declutter.

londonmummy1966 · 22/01/2022 18:38

DH dropped a bag of stuff off at a charity shop that has parking outside. I also listed something else on ebay/vinted in the hope it might sell.

Went out for cocktails last night (with the vicar.....) so not feeling 100% motivated to do anything today.

FurBabyMum02 · 22/01/2022 18:49

Not a great week in general as been super busy but have made up for it today by sorting the living room during ds naps 98 items gone! Up to 201 total now! Lots of wins today and just need to go through the dvd cupboard now list is below.
donate: decorative useless fire guard, colouring pen, never used lamp, 2x incense burners, fox door stop, fox hot water bottle cover and hot water bottle, 1 purse, 6x 3d glasses, 1 set of nail polish, 1 nail decoration dotter, dvd, Ted Baker gift set, 2022 diary, 5 teddies
Bin: some paperwork, nail clippers, nail buffer x2, 27 sets of nail decals, 39 half used nail varnishes (and I kept some!!), glases case, pregnancy leaflets, broken pencil

LivingInaBuildingSite · 22/01/2022 19:39

DD’s old practice beam sold and collected today.

Old range cooker listed and a couple of people interested but not sold yet.

Old Belfast sink collected today for a friend to have in her garden.

Need to pass along an old microwave and an old fridge/freezer.

Have tried to collect together various piles of paperwork that has migrated around the house.
So have now paid various bills for kids activities, recycled anything finished with, filed some stuff. And got together a tidier pile. For now, until I find more lol.

ememem84 · 22/01/2022 20:00

Things out today:

Lakeland catalog. Too tempting.
Bunch of receipts and crap from my work bag.
A chipped bowl
Contents of two drawers in bathroom cabinet. All expired. Although I have a snuggly snotty cold and am congested to hell so took the last of the expired Sudafed.
DH has decluttered his wardrobe and his things in our room. It’s my turn tomorrow.
Three old candle jars I was saving to use as vases. I have vases. I don’t need these.

We have to move out in 3 weeks so the renovations can get started. So need to pare down things.

seperatedmum · 22/01/2022 22:12

in; 2 very cute bambi wash bags which lead the younger 2 to declutter the dried out felt tips. random piece of plastic also out

squirrelslikenuts · 22/01/2022 22:43
