None for me today, one yesterday. My washing has more than halfed since I separated from my ex. One bonus I suppose. I now only do 2 or 3 loads a week at the most.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 03/10/2021 12:56

1, like most days.

Shallwegoforawalk · 03/10/2021 13:00

Two adults and a sporty teen and a dog. I just do one load per day and that keeps on top of it. Easy.

MotherOfCrocodiles · 03/10/2021 13:03

Well I used to rewear jeans for several days but these days they get milk, vomit, wee or smeared food on every day so yes I do wash them...

THOSEcobwebsareDECOR · 03/10/2021 13:07

Third load on

Vaselike · 03/10/2021 13:14

I think we’ve done three loads here today.

Five of us. Including a prolific leak-through the nappies-onto-everything bedwetter.

We must do 14 loads a week, although our machine is small capacity. Sheets (unless soaked on) done fortnightly. Towels every 5-7 days.

MackenCheese · 03/10/2021 13:33

1 load, as I wanted to do the tablecloth, and it's a sunny, blowy day!

TheUnbearable · 03/10/2021 15:58

MrsFin we washed by hand and used a mangle when I was a child in the early 1970’s and then it was a twin tub. That was still quite a bit of work. Spot cleaning was a thing and the bath once a week on Sunday night was also very much what was done. I have no idea how often our bedding was changed.

I wear jeans for days, still spot clean and change bedding every 2 to shock horror occasionally 3 weeks.

This is my.kind of memory tbh.

Also, we didn't have duvets, blankets only. They'd be washed regularly but not weekly. Clean blanket day was a bit special, nice and soft and smelt nice.

My mum had a plastic washer she'd put on the draining board, the only one I ever saw. Then she'd chuck them in a top loading spinner thingy.
She'd spend a day a week doing the wash, then hang it out on a big garden length line.

Times have really changed. I can see people being forced back to old school ways once the electric costs go up. People will have to use washer as little as possible.. which I do already.

NautaOcts · 03/10/2021 16:43

3 today
But not done any all week.
5 of us but washing machine is very large capacity now. Can usually make do with two coloureds and one whites per week, plus towels and bedding on top.

THOSEcobwebsareDECOR · 03/10/2021 18:35

Load 5 is in. 4 was pet stuff.

FindingMeno · 03/10/2021 18:37
  1. I've done a wash load every day, and I still get get enough together for another 3 loads easily.
DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 03/10/2021 18:46

Six 9kg loads from
7.30 am on Saturday to now me and three kids and a dog and three cats that hammer soft furnishings , cushions the dog has a dirty towel after bath every walk in this weather so two of those a day

It hasn’t even included the four beds that all got changed an hour ago they will be done tomorrow

Really is relentless as not a due fire by I don’t “pop a wash on”
Unless we’re away

I feel really sorry for the bloody thing Grin

DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 03/10/2021 18:46

Not a day goes by that should read not something about a fire

liveforsummer · 03/10/2021 19:15

I've just got home after a weekend away. I've got 3 loads to do just so we can go to school and work tomorrow. Will get the bulk done tomorrow afternoon/evening

JetRocket · 03/10/2021 19:19

We are going on holiday tomorrow with a baby and toddler.
I did about 5 loads today and the same yesterday.

Moomarre · 03/10/2021 19:32

I’ve done two today, a load of clothes and a load of bedding. Tomorrow will be the same. Tuesday will be a load of clothes and a load of towels. Wed thur fri just one load a day. Sat one dark one white to get the uniforms washed.

Six of us in the family

lots33 · 03/10/2021 19:33

Family of four here. 5-6 loads a week. Clothes worn until dirty. Clean underwear every day. One towel wash a week. Bedding is done fortnightly (ish) and creates an extra 3 loads.

minipie · 03/10/2021 19:37

Zero

4 loads a week here - bedding, darks, lights and towels. Get it done across 3 days.
Occasionally a delicates load, once a month max.
Family of 4
I have a large capacity machine which helps a lot

Scandicc · 03/10/2021 19:37

6 today! As an indirect result of strong winds in Germany 😅 (which made electricity extremely cheap suddenly, after being very, very expensive)

NotMyCat · 03/10/2021 19:59

One. I live alone and do 2 loads a week usually
Towels - use for a week
Bedding - changed every 5-7 days
I don't wash jeans or jumpers or most trousers after every wear
Pjs worn for 3 days usually

lazyakita · 03/10/2021 23:00

Today just one load of bed sheets. Throughout the week I'll always do a dark wash and one load of towels and cleaning cloths. Every other week I'll do pet beds or a light wash (we don't have many light clothes). So on average four loads a week, but there's only two of us.

Franticbutterfly · 03/10/2021 23:38

4 and ironed all the school things.

FlipFlops4Me · 04/10/2021 16:21

Two, but one was dogs' bedding.

I do one every day for us and then on bed change day I do three loads. Dogs' bedding day is two loads.

7 loads would take all day!

wtfisgoingonn · 04/10/2021 17:07

7 loads 😱😱 is the washing machine drum thimble sized or am I doing it completely wrong??

There are three of us (me and two tweens). I do 1 x lights + towels, 1 x darks, 1 x bedding and 1 x uniform a week.

So it works out roughly one load every second day.
