To wonder how on earth DH has stained brand new pillowcases this badly overnight??

DH and I got home yesterday from holiday, and as a treat I bought a lovely new set of bed sheets for us to sleep in last night.
However, this morning DH has just got out of bed and this is the state of the sheet and pillowcases! He showered before he came to bed, we both got a bit hot in the night but my pillowcases are spotless.

Seriously... how the hell has he managed that?

Ye Gods, that's grim! Does he usually secrete like this at night?!

flowerslemonade · 26/04/2018 07:55

What is it? Is it sweat?

Interestedparties · 26/04/2018 07:55

Fake tan?

user1471462428 · 26/04/2018 07:55

Are you sure the roof isn’t leaking?

Ifailed · 26/04/2018 07:56

did you wash them first before use?

saison4 · 26/04/2018 07:57

sweat?

borlottibeans · 26/04/2018 07:58

Was his hair still wet when he went to bed? My pillows (though not the pillowcases) used to end up like that when I used to wash my hair before bed and leave it to dry overnight. I assumed the water was reacting to something in the pillows.

CartoonsAndVodka · 26/04/2018 07:58

Is he secretly fake tanning or dying his greys? On a lot of medication? Eaten a lot of tumeric recently?

MrsCaecilius · 26/04/2018 07:59

Is your husband Donald Trump?

BeyondThePage · 26/04/2018 08:00

Do you have pillow protectors under the pillowcases?

AngeloMysterioso · 26/04/2018 08:00

I didn’t wash them first (although looks like I will be today), we had the washing machine going constantly most of the day with our holiday stuff. He insists he wasn’t sweating that much, I get sweaty too and my side of the bed is perfectly clean. Plus he showered yesterday evening so it can’t even be hair gel or anything like that.

Deffo not a leaky roof or fake tan.

I’ve known several men (relatives) who can achieve this. One does have quite bad psoriasis, so that is probably contributing but no idea on the others. It does looks like sweat stains from your photo. Is this the first time it’s happened?

Sadly, they’ve resorted to pillow protectors and multiple pillow covers changed daily if needed.
You can pick up a load of cheap ones from wilko or similar and then just boil wash them all at the end of the week.
Don’t waste your good linen on them though

Shedmicehugh1 · 26/04/2018 08:01

Does he piss through his ears?

AngeloMysterioso · 26/04/2018 08:02

He doesn’t dye his hair or anything, he was clean and dry when he came to bed. No excess of turmeric in our diet as far as I can think

We call it orange too in this house. DP has ruined many a pillow with orange goo. It's gross!

WeShouldOpenABar · 26/04/2018 08:03

Mine were like that when I was pregnant cos I had serious drool for 9 months, one of the stranger pregnancy symptoms

LookAtTheOwl · 26/04/2018 08:03

Another vote for pillow protectors. DH sweats like this as well, and his pillow looks disgusting. He can't help sweating, but it looks awful.

AngeloMysterioso · 26/04/2018 08:04

We usually have patterned pillowcases/sheets, sometimes they get a bit iffy but even then I’ve never noticed them getting stained that badly, and certainly not overnight.

Any chance he has an ear infection?
Only time it happens in our house

LoveProsecco · 26/04/2018 08:05

Yuck!

FleurDelacoeur · 26/04/2018 08:06

DH does this too, although not quite to that level!

NeverTalksToStrangers · 26/04/2018 08:06

Looks like sun cream stains to me. Assuming you were somewhere warm on hols maybe he was sweating out pre absorbed stuff?

jammiebammie · 26/04/2018 08:08

Oh dear! Does he sleep with a sleep mask or soft headphones? They could be reacting to the new material?
