Yes, hope you are ok Cag
Greymalkin my DH shares your pov re: euthanasia. He says it happens anyway in countries where it is not officially sanctioned, and he would rather be somewhere where it's more overt ifyswim. As mentioned, my background is Irish Catholic, so my instinctive "cultural"/default position is against I guess (for slippery slope reasons), but tbh I am not truly sure what I think about it if I'm really honest. The drugs and medical technology available to keep people alive, who would previously had no chance of life, makes it a much more complicated issue than it was.
Toostressy that's v interesting about your view not changing since you were dd's age. I'm certainly not dismissing her opinion, I was just rather taken aback about how unequivocally one-sided it was, and wanted to make sure she had a good grip of both sides (her school haven't done this as it was a lang not an ethics assignment ifyswim). Given your profession, I am sure you have a much better handle on the real issues surrounding this subject than us laymen; it's easy to waffle on when not at the coalface! Totally agree that it is vv important to have these discussions while everyone is still mentis compost!
On to cheerier things ...
