OK, you can have specific stuff for the machines, like laundry powder and dishwasher stuff and I'll chuck in a free bottle of Fairy washing up liquid, but for the rest of the house?

And not vinegar.
I don't care that it has amazing properties, I don't want my house to smell like a fish and chip shop.

Harvest you have to get the right kind of baby wipes. If they have moisturisers or similar then yes you don't want that on the floor it makes it slippy. Also some wipes break and tear easily so they are crap. You want ones that are close to just water.

yomellamoHelly · 16/07/2017 19:01

Furniture polish, glass cleaner, bleach (Plus decent cloths)

Junglefowl · 16/07/2017 19:09

I like Tesco value cream cleaner for the baths.
Viakal is expensive but makes stainless steel loOk really good.

I second large floor wipes for general cleaning too, though cheaper to use my microfibre cloths. I'm going to try bleach now!

Can I ask everyone's views on washing powder unless that needs a new thread?

Smallangryplanet · 16/07/2017 19:10

Jif
Bleach
E-cloth

I'm going to try Method

ToothTrauma · 16/07/2017 19:13

Bleach
Apple surface wipes
Bicarb

hazeyjane · 16/07/2017 19:17

Method
Baby wipes
E cloth with a scrubby side

sparechange · 16/07/2017 19:18

Baby wipe/surface wipe fans - I know they are convenient but they are an environmental disaster

The vast vast majority aren't biodegradable and they are really damaging when idiots people flush them and they get into waterways

Please please try and cut down on using them if possible...

(And apologies for the Fail link, but... www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3003415/How-wet-wipes-destroying-planet-clogging-sewers-creating-floods-noxious-waste-triggering-outbreaks-allergies.html )

Detail 3in1 spray ... amazing stuff, only thing that doesn't leave the oven door streaky.

GavelRavel · 16/07/2017 19:19

Bleach

hazeyjane · 16/07/2017 19:26

Funnily enough most of my dusters and general cleaning cloths are old resusable wipes. But we use large dry wipes and cleanser now, or baby wipes - the Waitrose biodegradable ones (I know they aren't perfect). As well as being excellent as wipes, I reckon you can do a quick room clean with just one wipe! (warning : I have very low standards)

OooohHorlicks · 16/07/2017 19:32

Cif has microbeads??? It's my wonder product and now I can't use it anymore? Are you sure? Is it the same for all cream cleaners? Noooooooooo!!!

NowtAbout · 16/07/2017 19:34

It really is sad about how unenvironmentally friendly baby wipes/Cleaning wipes are.

Although they are so bloody useful, it does my head in thinking about how many are used every day, And then just thrown away.

Harvestmoonsobig · 16/07/2017 19:38

Wipes and environment 🙁

Thought MN had really revolutionised my cleaning experience. 😢

Elledouble · 16/07/2017 19:42

Anti-bac spray.
Cillit Bang shower spray.
Bleach.

Ideally I'd like antibacterial wipes as well but I couldn't do without these.

WeeM · 16/07/2017 19:43

Love a magic eraser, has so many uses. I've also heard that Astonish is amazing but never tried it.
I've never heard of Method, must give it a try.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/07/2017 19:46

Bleach
Microfibre cloth
e-cloth

TwigTheWonderKid · 16/07/2017 19:52

I only use bleach, Fairy Liquid and occasionally a lime scale remover. I use microfibre cloths and also have a big stash of old flannels which I use and then chuck in the washing machine. No less convenient than wipes, much cheaper and unquestionably better for our fragile plant.

buckeejit · 16/07/2017 22:34

I'm going to order a water softener shower head-another thread people were raving how wonderful they are so for about £10, I'm in.

I'm a lazy cleaner but I do like the thick minky sponges. I'd like a bathroom spray that actually sprays like a kitchen spray instead of Random foamy squirts. Loving the method love & it's easier for me to keep the bottle out & the design is innoffensive. Baby wipes are bad enough news used on babies, though if I do use one on dc, I'll use a bit off it to dust skirting boards or whatever

Cabawill · 16/07/2017 22:41

Method lavender multi purpose spray, bleach for the loos and e cloths. Pretty much all I use apart from the odd limescale remover

thesunwillout · 16/07/2017 23:05

Flash multi liquid with febreeze, (bright pink one) smells like a holiday.

Ohyesiam · 16/07/2017 23:10

Tell me about micro fibre cloths, and e cloths. What would they add to my life?

And why all the baby wipes? I use a damp sponge, how would a baby wipe be better?
Convert me.

Ohyesiam · 16/07/2017 23:12

And why glass cleaner? I use damp newspaper, it makes glass perfect. Does the cleaner add a protective layer or something.

CarbonMint · 16/07/2017 23:18

Stardrops
Zoflora
Splosh Clementine kitchen cleaner
Job done Grin

SnickersWasAHorse · 16/07/2017 23:25

I cannot believe that no one has said soda crystals. They clean everything. I cleaned the entire kitchen with them today. And soaked clothes. And cleaned the washing machine.

BewareTheUndertoad · 17/07/2017 01:11

White vinegar. Cleans almost anything. Although I love the smell of bleach.
