:)
Got planning to do today but also label DD's uniform and the (what seems like) 60 pairs of shoes for school.
Must tidy the kitchen/dining a bit today.

I've never been a 'cat person', but I quite love mine now. I can mumsy the cat nowGrin
After this weekend there are no more plans, no more visits etc. We will take some time to settle into our new routine.

I don't have a big dinning table and no centre piece, but Homesense has some autumn wreaths with a space for a candle in the middle. I love dahlias in autumn, a farm nearby sells huge beautiful ones, I tend to have those.
Which reminds me: I need a new door wreath for Christmas. I bought lots of candles and fairy light from Ikea last weekend, I am soooo ready for autumn/winter. It's already getting dark!

Achieved quite a lot yesterday as everyone was back at work/school and I'm determined not to waste so much time faffing around so I actually have some time for some creative stuff.
First of all I need to beat this house into shape and remove a huge load of clutter. Started well the other weekend by clearing out the garage and yesterday I loaded the car for the charity shop and stuck some things on Freecycle.

Today's to do:

  • Work
  • Washing hung out and another load on
  • Charity shop run to drop stuff off and find large picture frame (for an idea for parkrun on Saturday!!)
  • Load car with PTA stuff that has been lurking in our garage
  • Take PTA stuff to school and store it there
  • Pick elderly neighbour's plums for her (and get to keep most of them :))
  • 15 minutes decluttering kitchen
  • Clean out cutlery drawer (assuming that is what is meant by 'silverware'!)
  • Meeting at school re PTA dates for the year - I do like an organised head teacher who wants parents to be involved :)
  • Feed family
  • Tackle Mount Ironmore which is getting out of control

There are lots of other things but I'll stick with the main ones to start with.
Have a good day everyone.

Congratulations Foxes

Just in the middle of making dinner so I thought I would post a quick tada

Beds made
Swish and swipe
Small pile of ironing
Braved weight watchers for the first time in 8 weeks
Collected a parcel
Repacked lunch boxes
Took ds2 to baby swimming session

I managed to only gain half a pound in eight weeks which I am really pleased about but because ds2 has begun weaning I have lost a third of my daily points - I am going to starve Sad If anybody has any low fat vegi recipes they would like to share I would be very grateful.

Hi all :)

No Flying other than putting a wash on. Need to go and do another one (but must get the Caglets to bring down their own laundry for that.

It's technically the first day of term here, so we are back into 'proper' home ed. DH took them for a walk in the woods and this afternoon we've done learning stuff, mostly science. They're playing out again now. They were going a bit loopy/hyper so I chucked them outside. Seems to be a pattern there.

I'm venturing back after an absence of about a year! I was working full time on a maternity contract which put anything domestic into basic survival mode. This is if the agency doesn't successfully link me up with the school that they were talking about today... I don't mind if I'm being too fussy for them at the moment!

Today has been dealing with post-camping chaos. Day 1 of drying a slug infested 8 man tent, shopping, restoring the lawn from near meadow like lengths, youngest having had a long appointment with the nurse for asthma care and preschool jabs. The older one starts back at school on Thursday and I'm looking forward to some me time when the younger one has his nursery hours.

Congratulations foxes! Have been out of the house most of the day so not much done but...
Ta da: decluttered a bit of Happyland toys (sold on Facebook Smile) and also decluttered a small bag of other toys to charity.

To do:
Get DD1's bags ready for first day back at school tomorrow
Declutter some paper - newsletters from nursery and post from today.

Felt quite organised today as stayed up to do a proper before bed routine last night and got all stuff ready the night before. Also got up early enough to be calm and ready this morning for big work day.

I find though if I get everything ready the night before it just takes so long! I often wonder what I am doing wrong. Was up until midnight last night then had to get up at 5 this morning. Not the end of the world but don't really want to do that through choice all the time! What am I doing wrong please?!

I don't know, but I don't watch tv every night and sort of tackle everything really quickly?
So I managed to tidy most of the house, sink is shining, one load of washing done. Then the phone rang and I've been chatting for England.
Tomorrow is another day :)

Busy day here today as first day at uni. Went really well, but suspect tomorrow it is going to hit me how behind I am in comparison with everyone else...
I am very glad that I did a lot of meal prep last week - and I chopped all my veggies last night for dinner tonight, too ;-)

TA das from the weekend include having my mirror and pictures hung in the dining room (yay dh) but sadly I didn't manage the ironing...

No time for today's lists as it's just 'keeping head above water and surviving' day. This week is carnage with orientation stuff every day, so next week will be settling into new routine.

Did someone say biscuits?

Morning,

Mercury I'm vegetarian, chickpeas, kidney beans, rasins, lentils, brown rice and quorn are all low fat. I do normally supplement meals with potatoe, nuts, cheese or gnnochi however which aren't as good fat wise. Sounds like you are doing well though.

ta da

put recycling out
made breakie
washed dishes
made beds
cleaned bath
cleaned bathroom basin
wiped the loo

Managed to clean the bathroom without resorting to putting bleach down the loo. Jeremy Germ, Steve-Coli and the other Germlets hiding under the rim of my loo must think they've found a cushty nook #stupid dh and his stupid challenge.

Just having a cuppa then cracking on.

Morning Fledglings!

Term is truly underway here. DH is off today so he's taken the Caglets to the woods on their bikes (they were fixed over summer, finally!). They've asked to do more science and we're going to attempt to learn some of the witches' lines from Macbeth.

(I hope people don't mind if I post what we're doing, home ed wise - keeps me motivated!)

I have to admit, I was really quite pleased that my usual Wednesday pupil isn't starting back until next week - could do with the money (summer is very quiet for tutoring!) but the living room is a pit. It's really awful. Need to get it sorted. Sigh.

Now I need to hang laundry out.

Thanks 8Fencing, not sure what I'm doing wrong with before bed routine then. I could whiz round it a bit quicker but don't let myself collapse and watch telly until it's done. Hopefully will improve with time!

Have only just got back after a long day at work and DH upstairs doing bedtime for DC so won't get a chance to do much today but will do a before bed routine and lay out clothes for tomorrow :)

Evening all and congratulations to Foxes Smile.

My new term time routines are working well so far (made easier by lack of extra-curriculare evening activities this week, so it could all go wrong next week). Floors clear every night is working downstairs, not up, but one thing at a time. So morning now is breakfast dishwasher etc (done by DH and DCs), get DCs out the door plus run the (cordless) vac round downstairs and mop the kitchen floor.

Afternoon is unpack lunchboxes, deal with mail/letters from school etc. School bags are repacked after homework is done. Also tend to try and squeeze in mission or any other cleaning in that time.

Evening is make packed lunches if needed (occasional for the DCs, most days for me) tidying floors and swish and swipe the bathroom. I've found that if I keep up with the laundry there's no need to put clothes out the night before, if the floors are tidy that usually involves putting shoes and coats on racks so they are there for the morning and I've never put breakfast stuff out.

Celeste - I know I commented the other day, but I've missed the origins of this no-bleach challenge, what's it about? Does your DH think you use too much of it? I'm of the view that as we don't touch the bowl of the toilet the germs don't need to be totally exterminated (especially the ones with cute names!), although I do use it if someone gets a tummy bug, but they are thankfully rare here.

  • I have done three missions so far this week, after a summer of not doing them at all. Fridge, cutlery drawer and cooker have all been cleaned out. I've started using a bullet journal, I never did get on with Flylady's control journal, but in my bullet journal is a habit tracker where you check off daily on a chart of habits you want to maintain (no crisps, pelvic floor exercises, walk 10k steps etc). This week I added Daily Mission to it, as well as swish and swipe and clear floors, it seems to be working on the motivation front. However I haven't added "lights out by 11.30" Blush

Hello everyone ! Picture as requested Smile

So I'm keeping an eye on this thread and hoping to properly join in soon. Probably when dh goes back to work and we are all back in our routine. I did manage to give the kitchen a wipe down this morning and fold the laundry so I'm trying to keep vaguely on top of things and dh is doing most stuff but obviously it's pretty busy here with a new baby and a toddler! So mostly we are drinking tea and eating chocolate Smile

Thanks for all the congratulations and hope I can be a proper part of the thread soon!
