Hell no :o I am more of a sedentary housewife. Catatonic even.

Except for yesterday and today that is. So far today I've sorted out yet more laundry, and brought books downstairs for the Caglets to sort through (literally no room to do so in their bedroom!). Not much yet but I'm still worn out. Might doze a bit before the others get back.

Furble · 19/09/2016 13:41

Afternoon All,
Very slow start to the day here this morning! Lay awake from 4 til 6 and then snoozed from 6 til 9 - quite unlike me! I suppose that's what maternity leave is for. We did do a very epic and hilly walk yesterday so perhaps that's what caused it!

Ta-das
Dishwasher unload and load
Empty bins and Zolflora main bin
Washing up done
Laundry weekly sort
First load washing on
Two loads of washing away
Beds made

To-do
Supermarket trip
Prepare dinner
Bake lemon drizzle
Kitchen sink and sides
Washing hung and another load on
Fly lady jobs (attack one drawer in bedroom and Monday bleurgh)

Hope all are having good Monday's!

justpeachy74 · 19/09/2016 13:53

This sounds like the thread for me. Complete newcomer. Can I join please?

I work 3 days a week so I probably won't get much done on those days after putting the kids to bed. Any tips for catching up after the work days without it being too frantic?

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/09/2016 14:00

Think I am in same place as cag-catatonic housewife.made me chortle though(Zoolets gave started a word of the day.tis chortle todayGrin)

Ta das
Fed cats
Clear dining table
Washing on
Bleach lav
Bins out
Round up n put out recycling
Made banana oatmeal muffins for dp
Fed zoolets
Start make pack up,realise breads mouldy....
Find partbake rolls n start plan b pack up.....
Clean bath n sink waiting for said rolls to cool
Wipe kitchen surfaces
Make pack ups
Braid dd2 hair(has food tech and science today and adamant a ponytail isn't going to be good enough if does herself.sigh)
School run
Errands with dp
Wash in dryer, another load in wash

Awful weather here today, really dreary with mizzly rain.dank.proper Monday morning.on plus side means fruit fly's aren't circling lid up bins NIR us the stench as bad as has been recently so I will take that as something positive!! (Trying to learn to be a more outgoing positive person.anyone in RL would roll round hysterically at link me and that idea!!)

Both cats curled up indoors.ones taken position in window will front room intermittently glaring out the window at rain
The other in box I put paper recycling in(now empty)indoors that's positioned near tumble dryer.he's clearly thinking it's getting colder!!!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/09/2016 14:02

PS new babies/mums to be making me broody(no zoo.no)I shall be sprouting chicken feathers at this rate and cluckingConfusedGrin

Cagliostro · 19/09/2016 14:40

Zoo you are so NOT a catatonic housewife! Your tada lists are far too long for that. Love the word of the day idea too.

So we've been through all the picture books - over 90 of them! Getting rid of about a third so not too bad. Finished their clothes too.

Cagliostro · 19/09/2016 14:41

Broody here too zoo doesn't help DD keeps asking for a little brother or sister!

Welcome Peachy :)

pinkoneblueone · 19/09/2016 14:53

I have just stumbled across this thread while chore dodging feeling a little over whelmed. This has made me feel so much better, I have done some chores already its amazing what a little decluttering does! Thank you ladies and gents.

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/09/2016 14:53

Hi peachy
All zoolets want more little ones!!I am 43now(coughs as says it so not everyone hears haha)so approaching unlikely, but doesn't stop the steady stream of why can't we have one?!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/09/2016 14:54

Forgot to say earlier,Celeste sounds really positive bout primary
A small class sounds perfect for you.fingers, eyes, legs etc crossed. X

celeste83 · 19/09/2016 14:55

ta das

made the beds
washed the dishes
done weekly grocery shop
unpacked shopping
made lunch

Was wanting to hoover the floors downstairs today but not sure if it will happen. Will probably just settle for a general tidy up now as ds has already tipped all his lego everywhere in the lounge and got his train set out which he played with for all of 2 minutes grrr.

I would like to have another child but dh is adament he wants us to get a bigger house first so the children aren't sharing bedrooms and we are not financially in a position for that yet Sad I think i'll probably look to get a part time job once ds goes to school next year.

celeste83 · 19/09/2016 15:08

Yes i agree Zoo Heres hoping but i'm not sure how school places are decided? If they are decided by the school or by the council? We are applying to the council through the usual process of three preferences. I would love him to go to a country school and yes i think he needs small classes and as much one to one attention to help him catch up.

foxessocks · 19/09/2016 18:46

Well I didn't manage it all and I think this evening I will be mostly feeding the baby as he seems to feed non stop at this time of day!

Anyway not a bad start I don't think

Ta das
Dusted
Cleaned mirrors and doors
Mopped floors
Plus I had the HV visit and took dd and ds to the park

Dh made the dinner which was good and he's in charge of bath night so I'm having a sit down now.

Didn't manage to do the bedroom but my bedroom isn't really cluttered anyway so will try and pick it up tomorrow!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/09/2016 19:23

Grey have some WineBrewCake to help with potty training. DD2 is pretty good with wees but all poos go in her pants and it is miserable! Foxes you sound as if you are doing amazingly with a new baby!

Before bed routine definitely making mornings better :) . The key for me is definitely doing it all day long rather than waiting until after tea. Back at work tomorrow though so will see how that goes.

peachy hi, I also work three days a week and struggle to get much done on those days although at least house itself doesn't get wrecked. I've actually started to find it easier to catch up with stuff on days "off" but that is only since the DC got a little older and does depend on how much they fight.

Ta da:-
DDs in bed early just waiting for them to go to sleep (it helps if you miss your bus stop then tire them out walking back through wet grass so they need a bath the second they get through the door!)
Birthday cards done!!
Decluttered some of DC's scribbling notebooks and DD1 wants me to put her school summer dresses away now Autumn is here.

To do:-
Have job interview tomorrow (eeek) - only for extra temporary shifts - not leaving current job but will need to look at map to find out where I'm going etc and get outfit ready. So not planning much more than that tonight
Before bed routine.

BlueEyeshadow · 19/09/2016 19:35

Waves to all, especially newbies. We've been at MIL's birthday/housewarming party this weekend, which was lovely, but all kinds of chaos at home now. Hey ho.

Need to start on bedtime, but both boys were actually reading with enthusiasm so didn't want to disturb them...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/09/2016 19:39

Blue blimey, no, that is definitely best not disturbed Smile! Hi to everyone else too, forgot to put that but is nice to hear how everyone is getting on.

Greymalkin · 19/09/2016 20:06

Hello to Peachy and Pinkone - welcome, welcome. The emphasis on our approach is any progress is good, no perfectionism and do little and often. Don't worry if you don't get everything done from the links; it will all come around again next month.

Links for Tuesday 20th September: Here is the Launch Pad with all the basic information.

Baby step number twenty: include doing laundry in your morning and evening routines This can be putting a wash on, folding and putting away or ironing.

Tuesday daily focus is planning : meal planning, activities, look ahead to next week to see what you can do today to help – organize any birthday cards, paperwork etc

We are in Zone 4, The Master Bedroom aka, The Boudoir. Spend 15 minutes decluttering here. If you have finished decluttering here is the detailed cleaning list

The second mission this week is to tackle the clothes mountain in your bedroom Remember this is a great opportunity to get rid of any clothes you dislike or don’t fit well.

Our habit of the month is establishing a Before Bed Routine This is actually a really good habit to develop, as many of us can vouch for.

And a little bonus feature for this month: FlyLady's back to school tips

Very pleased with myself today, I came home, did a pasta bake, and while it was in the oven, I loaded the dishwasher, put a load of washing on, hoovered and dusted. So after dinner, all I did is load the plates, turn the machine on, it was already tidy and all done, so I wS able to just sit down.
My bedroom is all tidy and clean already, since yesterday. So all good.

celeste83 · 19/09/2016 20:49

Well done Foxes and 8fencing.

Good luck with the interview toostressy

YippeeTeenager · 19/09/2016 22:55

I'm a bit scared by this thread but please can I join too? Had DD home on study leave/doing exams/summer hols for 4 months and my house seems to have disappeared under neat piles of unidentified stuff! Could do with some company while I start unwinding the accumulated chaos. I'm a bit confused by it all but I'll do my best to pay attention at the back of the class!

Cagliostro · 20/09/2016 00:19

Hi Pink and Yippee :)

Productive day here. As well as regular housework all the Caglets' clothes are sorted and I've organised lots of the resulting fabric scraps, salvaged buttons, ditched holey/stained bits etc. Need to bag up the other toys and books that we are getting rid of too.

Cagliostro · 20/09/2016 10:17

Slow start here today! Not out of bed yet. Caglets doing learning stuff with DH at the moment then we will attempt more housework later.

celeste83 · 20/09/2016 12:14

Morning,

ta das so far

made beds
put bleach down the loo in the bathroom
washed dishes
hoovered all downstairs
general tidy up

Gonna make some lunch then take ds to the park this afternoon. Been promising him all morning we will go out. I could probably do with looking through my wardrobe and getting rid of few bits and pieces as per flylady today. I'm a bugger for picking things up in charity shops and only wearing once or if ever. I have like a wardrobe and a half whilst dh has half a wardrobe not mention all my shoes under the bed Blush

PaulineFowlersGrowler · 20/09/2016 12:34

Ah, I was so busy this weekend because it was DS's birthday and in my wisdom I had a little party for him at the house. Spent all Saturday crisis cleaning only for it all to be undone on Sunday, but he had a lovely day which is all that matters. I've missed so much on the thread, grey thanks for the round up, brilliant idea and it's nice to know somebody is actually reading my drivel Grin. Right the twins are asleep so is better get cracking/flying
