to ask what household crap brings you joy?

In the vein of KonMari and inspired by the £200 bin. I feel the need to know what else I'm missing out finding joy from otherwise boring yet necessary household crap

I don't have the iron station yet but think it would make my heart sing compared to tripping over how my ironing board iron and laundry is currently stored

Another one!

My oxo squeegee on a sucker that is tucked down behind a shelf on the inside of my shower screen. I clean it down after every shower and it's amazing. The difference it makes to the whole bathroom is incredible. I laughed at my next door neighbour when I saw his one but now I totally get it!

Excited101 · 02/04/2016 11:49

It's weird isn't it Butterflies I'm late for everything, have a huge drawer full on cables that need sorting chucking out but I struggle getting rid of stuff. I'd love to be more minimalist but I have a few hobbies that require lots of 'stuff' and am a bit of a hoarder. I also love to shop.

RumbleMum · 02/04/2016 11:51

My The kids' craft drawers. I've just bought four sets of drawers in different sizes with various inserts. The drawers/inserts are themed (eg glitter, stickers, play doh) and can be removed for crafts when I permit them to mess up my craft drawer organisation then tidying up is really easy.

After the kids are in bed I stand and gaze at them running my thighs like I'm watching porn.

Really Useful Storage boxes. I have many of them in all different sizes. Most recently I got some smallish rectangular ones and am now looking smugly at a stack of boxes containing batteries, ribbons and bows, envelopes, tissue paper and balloons/birthday banners. One box each obvs.
Although banana I am now thinking a need a labelling gadget for all my boxes...
but that would make me just like MIL

Excited101 · 02/04/2016 11:53

You should see me when I go on holiday! My 'three bag system' {patent pending} is to be seen to be believed, but it makes airports and going on planes so much more straightforward.

Excited101 · 02/04/2016 11:54

Yy to really useful storage boxes, they are amazing.

Birdsgottafly · 02/04/2016 11:55

Are you's going out x

Birdsgottafly · 02/04/2016 11:56

That message was meant for elsewhere Grin.

HappinessLivesHere · 02/04/2016 11:56

Cordless Dyson, boiling water tap, Sonos system throughout whole house :-)

bananafish81 · 02/04/2016 11:56

Ooh for going on holiday. The one way vacuum seal roll up bags. Like those vacuum bags except they're no good on holiday when you don't take a vacuum cleaner. Roll the bag up and the air gets pushed out the one way seal and squishes the clothes into a teeny space.

From Lakeland, obvs

I have the Joseph Joseph sink bowl. And lots of other JJ stuff, including the cleaning bucket, sink caddy, pan scrubbers, soap dispenser, draining boards, lots of joy.

Under shelf storage trays in kitchen cupboards. Fridge organiser trays.

G Tech vacuum cleaner. Cordless, an absolute dream. And vax steam mop.

Sainsburys metal laundry baskets (5 of them)

Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother. Pure happiness.

Colour changing spotlights

Orange twinkling fairy lights in the fireplace.

Fairy lights in hurricane lanterns.

Tartan boxes with lids and multiple g plan sideboards. Boxes all labelled with blackboard stickers and white chalk pen. Containing all manner of toys and craft stuff.

Antique wooden globe bar/drinks trolley in the conservatory. Vintage g plan coffee table. Cast iron stags head on beck wall. All very gentlemans club.

Huge rectangular leather ottoman as coffee table also containing and hiding toys.

I have lusted after the ironing station but think I want a wall mounted one with iron in each bedroom and a laundry room upstairs to make my house perfect.

I really love my house. It's very hygge but functional too.

CakeNinja · 02/04/2016 12:03

My pull out larder cupboards.
So lovely, tall units with 6 shelves in each, surrounding my fridge in perfect symmetry.
And great for not losing old spices etc to the abyss that is the back of a cupboard.
Heavenly. One of my favourite things is organising them and lining everything up neatly in them.

And my pull out bins under the worktop. One side for rubbish, one side for recycling and the back for glass recycling. Things of beauty.

I am 30 and a household goddess Grin

NoCapes · 02/04/2016 12:05

I have a 'gift cupboard' it has a list of all birthdays by month on the inside of the door, 2 IKEA plastic bag holders filled with wrapping paper, a gift bag box, a card box, tissue paper box and 2 gift draws - one for children, one for adults
Sellotape dispenser, spare sellotape and scissors live in there too of course
There's a big black box right at the top with presents for my own children - but they don't know that's there

Tiz a happy place Smile

Sgtmajormummy · 02/04/2016 12:06

This. I'd wanted one for about 20 years. With the excuse that we need to do a mini-move with just beds and a table I bought it second hand for the price of just two chairs. Grin
Love Foppapedretti stuff. It's just so... sturdy.

Lakeland magic oven liner. Makes cleaning the oven a cinch

TalkMeDownPlease · 02/04/2016 12:11

I need to leave this thread. I keep clicking on all of your links and thinking 'Ooh I need one of those' Grin

ImNotThatGirl · 02/04/2016 12:12

I love this thread and most of the things in it. I'm already thinking about how I can squash them into my small house.

On a related note, I had to ban myself from travelling to London to visit the Ideal Home Show this year. Last year, I made the mistake of taking my credit card and spent nearly half my monthly wage on crap that now lives in the garage. Shock Blush

KoalaDownUnder · 02/04/2016 12:12

i am deeply in love with my Dyson cordless V6 Animal and my slimline dishwasher. Star

ghostyslovesheep · 02/04/2016 12:14

I love those Raskog trollies from Ikea upthread. DH and I did an Ikea order the other day, and were trying to think how we could use one, as it is just such a lovely thing. Sadly, couldn't come up with a way to justify buying one. I want it so.

candykane25 · 02/04/2016 12:17

excited do you use Oubterest. I have secret boards with photographs of my clothes so I remember what I have. You could have a shoe board. I'm using one for my upcoming holiday, to see what I need to get or don't need to.
Do you frequent the Chrisymas board? It's brilliant.
