Woo hoo! It's the second Bullet Journal thread! For the benefit of newbies - Bullet Journal is a brilliant way to organise your whole life in a lovely notebook. Perfect for anyone who has tried every app and every scheduling system but just can't seem to get on top of things. Also perfect for lovers of beautiful stationery and especially for people who like lists!

Sooo - get out your fineliners and your washi tape! Stroke your Leuchtturms! And get all that stuff that's whizzing round in your head out onto paper instead!

I'm new to this, started on Monday after having the original thread in my watch list since February. Read it then but I'm a huge procrastinator so I never got started. Then read it again last weekend and here I am.
I'm currently using an old notebook but have a lovely anthracite Leuchtturm waiting for 1st June!

Anyway I'm struggling with a pretty basic point, ie to understand where I should put things that are due towards the end of the week ahead. I don't like to do write in more than one day at a time as I never know how much space I need so I start a new entry each day. I have some things that I need to do on Thursday and Friday, where do I add them so I don't forget them? Confused

Hydroshield · 29/05/2016 14:39

story, I'm not sure about your questions but will say that since I started on Monday I've been much more productive. It's definitely working for me, as long as I keep it up.

Hello all! OP here, resurfacing after weeks of non-Bujoing. The 4 weeks' work I just did were so full-on that I barely had time to eat, never mind Bujo. Which is kind of silly, as Bujo would have really helped keep me on top of things if I'd actually had time to do it... Will have to find a way of fitting it in if I ever eventually get a permanent full-time job. But for now, it's back to part time and Bujoing. Hurrah!

Ok so after ripping out 8 pagesShock I've managed to find a layout that works for me and I've done a monthly May and June spread (that's my June one) and my weekly one I'll do each day for a couple of weeks and see if I can do a weekly spread at a time when I know what I'm putting in.

My names story and I'm a bujo wanker Grin

just off to do my lists and scowl at dh who thinks I'm a total geek

story Short answer is do whatever works for you ?

I have a weekly layout for my dated appointments and task which have a certain deadline date.
PLUS Mega to do list. Which is to do items with no time scale.
PLUS Daily to do list. Which is to do items which need doing soonish.

I am still loving my BuJo and have weekly layout to the end of June at the moment :)

MrsNutella · 30/05/2016 13:48

Story thanks for the pics! That really helps! I need to organise my monthly layout to make it more me user friendly

I have a mini leuchteurm note book for my next BuJo.... But I think I might have to go to A5 size... Hmmmmmm

storybrooke · 30/05/2016 17:34

babies yeah think it'll take a bit of time to work out what I need.

Mrs I find a5 size perfect for layout and my bag. I know where I am each day with the colour code for the kids so doesn't take space away from my actual appointments. I started with a box for each day but with everything I have to fit in it was soon clear 3 months into the template that wouldn't work for me.

I just love how I can customise it to suit what I need, bleedin' genius!

EmmanuelMN I use my BuJo for a mix of practical and creative stuff - the index is what makes this work. When I need to find something that is squished between all the poetry, pretty magazine clippings and free-flow musings, I go straight to the index to look it up.

Personally, I find all the creative stuff helps to make the BuJo special and a pleasure to use.

Hello! I read the first thread in January but only decided to give this crazy BoJo thing a go at the end of May. I've got a L1917 and I love it to bits. I succumbed to some glitter washi tape from Sainsbury's and stuck a postcard on top and have just made a perpetual menu planner which will hopefully stop me going shopping constantly!

I have just finished drawing up my July pages :)

Karcheer · 10/06/2016 23:14

Hello, I think I was on the original thread, if not I definitely read it and bujo'd for a while. Restarted again today.
I really want to change my life and I think bujo will keep me focused.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 13/06/2016 19:39

Hello, is there a new thread somewhere or have things just quietened down? I'm still BuJo-ing and have got into a lovely reliable layout, although sometimes day to day I don't make time in the morning to make my to-do list. Anyway, I'm still going! Have just ordered a 100 Day Happiness Planner, I am happy already Grin but I just can't bloody resist stationery, and need a kick up the bum exercise-wise so hopefully this short 100 day kick will get me motivated.
Also have been lusting after all the Erin Condren stuff. I'm not keen on the planner layouts as they're restrictive IMO (yay for BuJo and its flexibility :) ) but I mean, MAJOR SWOON at the accessories and stuff... I wonder if they fit in other books or if they're just Erin Condren Planner sized.

Anyway, HI! :)

Greatballs · 13/06/2016 21:38

Oh my!
Was directed here as an answer to a thread I posted about having too many tasks in my head. I like the look of this - I'm naturally a pen and paper person so this us right up my alley! Will have a proper read and give it a try Smile

Vistaverde · 14/06/2016 13:53

It's quite a while since I posted on this thread and I am really pleased to see it still going.

I am still loving my Bujo and have almost come to the end of my first practice Bujo and I think I have found what works for me and what doesn't. I am already looking forward to setting up my new notebook just the way I want it.

I have just found this great Buzzfeed article explaining the basics which I hope will answer some of the questions on newbies on this thread:-

www.buzzfeed.com/rachelwmiller/how-to-start-a-bullet-journal?utm_term=.oaD30VD2L#.aej25wMPK

MrsNutella · 14/06/2016 22:01

That buzz feed link is brilliant! I will definitely be passing that on next time I say how great a bullet journal is. Thank you!

NinjaMum11 · 03/07/2016 17:58

I'm a new Bujo'er and have heard about challenges. Where do I find these and are they done in my BuJo?

tanya1312 · 10/07/2016 07:41

Jumping on board, been reading some of this thread and little coffee fox website/ Pinterest, can't wIt to get started and put a stop to bits of paper lying around with lists, and half used diaries xx

Bellyrub1980 · 10/07/2016 22:01

I've been vaguely aware of BuJo'ing for some time but today I suddenly my felt the urge to get organised!

I've bought a journal and a pen! Woohoo!! But as you can see from the attached picture, the selection on Amazon was limited and all the nice colours were out of stock! So I went with black.

Anyone else have a black journal?!!

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to starting. Not entirely sure I'll create anything visually beautiful, like some I have seen, but I would LOVE to be more organised!!

Just wanted to check back in..... I had an experiment with a discbound notebook but believe it or not, the fact that I could change pages and move them round spoilt the joy of indexing for me.

So I got an old used notebook (A5, sainsburys soft cover in mint) and started again. Instantly I felt better. I know not to reinvent the wheel now - or try to anyway. A notebook, a pen. Simples.

Boltonlass1972 · 21/07/2016 13:03

I started a few HOURS ago and I feel my life is so organised (although I admit i couldn't resist doing monthly planners up to October. I'm a teacher and trying to think how I can use this in my job (a separate work one obviously - wondering if I can port the 'system' into my work planner and spare pages on my day off etc. Any fellow teachers transferred to BuJo at work?

building2016 · 28/07/2016 22:28

Just marking place. Feel like my digital solution is slowly killing my soul.

building2016 · 30/07/2016 15:12

Okay, after much thought I am not doing BuJo. But I have bought a diary with plenty of space for notes / reference and am incorporating the index idea. So we'll see how this works out.

I also found some very old but interesting articles on hacking your Moleskine which sound like they might be useful for the BuJo community.
